Over at yahoo.com a news report is up that NBC may move its once mighty ER from Thursdays to Mondays or Tuesdays next season. Thew show is renewed for its 13th season and has averaged 12.1 million fans this season , good for a show thats 12 years old and lost many a star !

However at NBC its not good enough for Thursdays anymore and theres rumbles that ER could be shifted to Tuesdays at 10pm ( which would be a bad move considering how L & O :SVU has won its timeslot there) or Mondays more than likely.

Could the 13 season be the last for ER ?

Ok--the question is--what else does NBC have to show at the Thursday night hour? They have nothing that strong in their lineup currently.

I wouldn't be shocked if ABC goes in for the kill next season and moves Housewives and/or Grey's Anatomy to Thursdays.

And face " Without A Trace " at CBS ? If ABC's smart they keep thier 2 powerhouses at Sunday and don't take risks. They have slowly crawled back to being a power. They just need to create a show ( as well as other shows around it ) for that Thursday slot since they really don't have anything that compares to CBS and NBC's dog fight for that night.

CBS is the true power behind Thursday night and it will take a hell of a lot to beat them. NBC has already sheduled the Matt Perry drama for 10pm on Thursdays from that article I read.

Last September, it was announced that this, along with Will & Grace would be the last season for ER. Then, as the peacock spiraled further into the toilet bowl, it was suggested that both would return. Now, Scrubs may be headed to ABC, leaving My Name is Earl the only real comedy they've got left. (Sorry, I just can't get in to the Office!) I've actually not watched anything on NBC for about 6 months now - and I've missed nothing!

Hey, whatever happened to that Las Vegas show? Last year it was all popular and now you hear nothing at all about it.

Sentenced to Fridays or as Norm McDonald once joked in ABC Previews " The Death night " . I always got a kick outta Norm in a casket going..." Don;t cry for us yet fans. Norm is moving to Fridays..."

I think the best things NBC will have next year will be the Law & Orders (as usual) along with "Las Vegas" and "Conviction". "Law & Order: CI" has to move because NBC is getting the Sunday night NFL game. "Las Vegas" and "Conviction" are on Friday right now, but they both show strength and promise, so I wouldn't be surprised to see both of them moved to another night that traditionally gets more viewers..maybe Monday because Monday Night Football won't be on ABC.

I think next season ABC has to leave at least one of "Desparate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy", if not both, on Sunday night's because NBC will have the NFL game. They might leave one on Sunday and move the other to Monday since they won't have MNF.

Maybe the NFL really does run everything.

If they move ER to Tues it's dead anyway since it's up against Svu or House. Either way it's being killed in the ratings.

The new Matthew Perry show apparently had one of the most acclaimed pilot scripts in the history of TV, to the point where every network desperately wanted to be the one to get the show (Aaron Sorkin, I think, right?).

So it would not surprise me in the least if it got ER's spot.

It's not a disservice to ER, it's a tribute to this new Sorkin show.

ER has been on too long; it needs to be cancelled. I know the producers believe ER can just rotate new actors for the show, but they miss the point.

NBC needs a shot of life. Must-See-Thursdays is not so anymore.

The big question is what is gonna happen to Surface!

A few things...

1) ABC is not moving either Greys or DH to Thursdays. DH is staying on Sundays at 9 and Greys is moving to Mondays at 9.

2) If NBC drops Scrubs, ABC has said they will 100% without a doubt pick it up.

3) Just because a show is critically acclaimed does not mean it will be a hit; Sports Night anyone?

In the latest issue (latest one that I've seen anyway) Dick Wolf, the man behind the Law & Order empire has said that there will be changes on all of the L&O series, and that it is his wish that NBC doesn't bring CI back until January. There is no chance, at the current time, of NBC dumping the original, SVU or CI at the current time because while their viewership numbers are all down, they are all still big money-makers for NBC.

Which is as good a reason as any as to why NBC probably won't be dropping it. What they should do is move it to Thursday night, they'd have a killer lineup with Scrubs, Earl, and Office.

Exactly..."SportsNight" was one of the best shows of the late 90's and it's a a shame more people didn't get to experience it. After all, that's where I got my name.

I do want to see the new Sorkin show though. I'm hoping it's as good as people say it will be, and that it sticks around longer than "SportsNight".

Now, back to the sad countdown to the last episode of "The West Wing".

Apparantly NBC still has not decided on an official schedule, but here is ABC's as of last night if anyone is interested:

Mondays
8:00 WifeSwap
9:00 Grey's Anatomy
10:00 What About Brian

Tuesdays
8:00 The Big Day
8:30 Notes from the Underbelly
9:00 In Case of Emergency
9:30 Help Me Help You
10:00 Boston Legal

Wednesdays
8:00 SuperNanny
9:00 Lost
10:00 The Nine

Thursdays
8:00 Dancing with the Stars
9:30 Let's Rob Mick Jagger
10:00 Brothers and Sisters

Fridays
8:00 Dancing with the Stars: The Results
9:00 According to Jim
9:30 George Lopez
10:00 20/20

Sundays
7:00 America's Funniest Videos
8:00 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
9:00 Desperate Housewives
10:00 Men in Trees

*Another possibility if MiT going to Fridays at 9 and "Six Degrees" launching at Sundays at 10. Apparantly some execs think it will better capture the "Grey's Anatomy" audiance. If this doesnt happen, "Six Degrees" will be held for January.

I will try to find out what NBC is mulling over later today and try to post.

That new buddy sitcom with David Arquette and Jonathon Silverman looks interesting but theres really no comedies at ABC. This network needs comedies and I can see why they wanted Scrubs and tried to get AD.

The latest word is that CBS will move "Without a Trace" out of its Thursday at 10pm timeslot in favor of "Shark" or "Criminal Minds", while NBC is gearing upt to move "ER" out in favor of "Friday Night Lights". If this does indeed happen with both CBS and NBC moving their established hits, I see it was a big boone for ABC...

ER being moved to Friday's seems more or less to hasten its demise.

That show is f-cked. Theres nothing around it to support it. NBC has the Mathew Perry " Studio 60 " show. But has the lead ins of " Earl " and " The Office " to help it. CBS will win the night regardless because they have Survivor and they own Thursdays now with CSI. ABC has new shows before and after " Grey's " and thats a battle to score viewers.

ABC pretty much screwed up. "Greys " should have been placed on Mondays or Wednesdays before Lost.

Looks like a huge change is coming up on Wednesday L&O. From the previews it seems that Jack is no more...I just wonder what he did this time to finally get it...
