Please please please somebody tell me that Cartoon Network is not going to get rid of JLU! I heard a rumor that they're ditching Justice League for a Legion of Superheroes cartoon! No offense to fans of Legion, but I really hope that's just bs and JLU will remain around for a while. Can anyone help?

Correct, JLU is gone forever, but that not news, the last episode has been aired.

I will miss this show, it was possible to watch as an adult, not like The Batman that is just for small kids, and rumor has it that the new Legion show will be for kids in kids style, so after BTAS, STAS and JL/JLU we will be out of anything worth whatching.

1. Yes it is over.
2. They are finishing the final season right now in US while in Canada and Britain the last season has been finished.
3. Legion animated has nothing to do with JLU, it is not a 'replacement'.
4. If you don't want to wait, you can download the remaining episodes on IRC.

Well, "Destroyer" has yet to air on Cartoon Network, right? And should be airing this Saturday.

you'd think they at least keep it around for one more season to tell the parallax story arc and to compete with nickolodeans avatar.

No the hell... it ain't:( Nick's canceling off great cartoons too.

Danny Phantom, All Grown Up, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Jimmy Neutron are all getting cut. Danny Phantom will wrap up in 07.:(

It seems the era of great Cartoons on TV has ended. And it has been replaced with lame ass versiosn of anime.

To be fair, JLU's days were numbered for awhile now. Keeping the broadcast rights to all those different characters was becoming more and more difficult. And, after the scope they were able to show us once they moved to "Unlimited", would the fans really have wanted to go back to a limited cast, minus some very important characters?

The real lesson here is that we should all be campaigning for saner copyright laws B)

yes...cause a jihad and keep 12 or 15 of the best characters in the jlu.

Then make a spin off called the jsa to maximize the copyright - same theory.

hardly rocket science.

It had more to do with the licensing deals that Warner Brothers made than copyright. When they would make a deal with a company to produce a new show with their characters, the deal would sometimes have a exclusivity clause that would keep the characters from appearing anywhere else.

They cancel both Spongebob & FOP as well. FOP will wrap this summer, and production for Spongebob has been stopped since last year. Avatar is gonna keep Nick on life support for awhile.

cartoon dumbassesActually no, latest ratings and medialife both show Naruto is spanking Avatar and putting CN in the top thirty shows couple on cable. Something that hasn't happen since the height of DBZ.

Had they gone on, they would have lost Batman and Superman, the rights to those characters were sold off to others, plus I think they were going to lose Green Lantern and Flash as well. What's really left if you have none of those?

It's the same reason Teen Titans went off, they were losing the right to use Robin.

Actually, seeing as they been working on lesser characters, they might have a chance presenting hawkgirl, lantern and the like.

They still had Batman, they just lost the rights to use all of Batman's villains and supporting cast. I'm sure something similar would have happened with Superman.

They would have lost the rights to Superman's supporting cast and villains. Think about that for a second. And think about how important Lex Luthor was to JLU.

Justice League Unlimited may be ending this weekend, but the continuity established by Batman: The Animated Series isn't quite over yet. There's still a few surprises to come . . .
