View Full Version : Scooby Doo, Cyborg.
Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue! is a new Scooby-Doo show that will air on Kids' WB! this fall. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo continue to solve mysteries, although they now live in Shaggy's Uncle Albert's mansion. The Mystery Machine is still around, with the new addition to transform into a different mode of transportation. This new feature is controlled by a remote. Scooby Snacks return as well, and they now contain nano technology that is able to give Scooby different abilites and transformations. These new Scooby Snacks are supposed to be top-secret, and they could draw in villains who want them for their own purposes, so Shaggy and Scooby must protect them from evil. It is unknown if Fred, Daphne, and/or Velma would also make an appearance in this new series.

No, Loonatics Unleashed actually had a workable premise, even if it wasn't handled nearly as well as it (sh)(c)ould have been.
This is WB ripping off themselves.

Well, ripping off previous successes is a tradition with Hanna-Barbera. Still, nanotech Scooby Snacks?

Is it any stupider really than being followed around by Vincent Price's head?

Since when did anyone care about the sanctity of Scooby Doo? You name the way in which they could have sold-out, theyve already done it 20 years ago.

Indeed.. I still remember "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo", "Scooby-Doo Goes Hollywood", "Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf", and "Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School"..

What do they want? Set the world's record for shark jumping? The first jump was adding Srappy. Other jumps as follows:
13 Ghosts made the ghosts real
A Pup Name made Fred dumb
The movie turn Daphne into a Buffy clone

They didnt jump the shark, they had it guest star in one of their episodes with Don Knotts and Mama Cass.

Who said anything about the sanctity of Scooby Doo? I just think nanotech doggy treats are a dumb idea even by Scooby Doo standards. Dumber even than taking orders from the disembodied head of Vincent Price.
Not as dumb as Scrappy Doo though. Or that little Puerto Rican kid they had following them around, who was basically Scrappy Doo as a Puerto Rican kid. Only Scrappy was also around at that point, so they basically had two Scrappys. Talk about double your suck.
What they need to do is bring back the Scooby Doo Mystery Movies. Z-List celebrities helping a talking dog chase down senior citizens in halloween costumes? Now that's entertainment.

"Zoinks, Ryan Seacrest, that ghost pirate sure looks angry!!"
Yeah, that WOULD be awesome, come to think of it.

Actually, I think he was supposed to be Chinese. Because they met him in Tibet, I think. Even though he didn't sound Chinese. And his name was implausibly "Flim-Flam McScam". So .. . yeah. Horrible Chinese Irish Hispanic parents.
EDIT: Checked. Yeah, actually, he was supposed to be based on Short Round from Indiana Jones.

Actually, in an episode of the most recent series, Scoopy literally jumped a shark. Velma even made the obvious pun about it, too.

And people wonder why I hate the Doo so much. Well it's only a matter of time before he dies in that Survivor.
Damn Truce. If it weren't for that I'm sure OM and me could drum up a Scooby Death Squad here and now.

But...but...its Vincent Price's Head in a fishbowl! That's way cooler than a cyborg Scooby-Doo.

Even Beast Machines is cooler than Cyborg Scooby Doo.

revamped Scooby Doo for the next next generation...isn't that what the last series tried to do?
Could be good or it could bomb...depending on writing & animation.

Face it, Scooby Doo is alwys finding new ways of disgracing itself. And itll never, ever be as good as the original cartoon.......which I always hated, btw.

I'm still waiting for "Fetal Scooby-Doo" to make it to the Kids' WB lineup...
I enjoy "Scooby-Doo Where Are You?" (the original), "The Scooby-Doo Movies" (guest starring everyone), "What's New Scooby-Doo?," and the first Scooby-Doo movie (I enjoyed the self-parodying, although I agree with the comment that Daphne=Buffy).
The Scooborg doesn't grab me at all.... that reminds me, wasn't Dynomutt one of Scooby-Doo's many cousins?

You know, I bet, if we wanted to, we could put together some kind of Wold-Newtonesque geneology of Hanna-Barbera talking dogs and animals.

Why do nearly all the new versions of Scooby Doo get rid of Fred, Daphne and Velma as regulars? (Or, sometimes they'll keep Daphne because she's the hot one) Scooby just isn't Scooby to me without the gang.

Are you guys talking about that very awesome Scooby Doo special with David Cross they did on Adult Swim?

same here. Scooby Dum (red neck) & Scooby Dee (female) are Scooby's cousin. He might've teamed up with Dynomutt, but I don't remember a relation between them

It was Scooby Doo for the younger, way younger crowd. Featuring pint-sized versions of the gang, as well as new characters like Red Herring

"A Pup Named..." was a good show, partly because, while it was aimed at kids, it realized it didn't have to be overtly moronic to do so. There were lots of rather clever gags in it and references to the original cartoon. The Scooby-Doo movies from a few years ago were decent as well.
Nano-tech Scooby Snacks just sounds !@#$in retarded. It's something I expect to see in a Smigel cartoon making fun of soulless, out-of-touch cartoon-makers trying to make a cool, post-modern new Scooby-Doo cartoon.

Think about it... other than being sort of kitschy was the show really ever that good, as to be sacred? No? I thought not.
