Hey the Annihilation thing seems really cool. I am a newbie to comics...last comic was maximum carnagae actually! I was wondering what exactly is the Annihilation (I heard it is going to be used to kill most of marvel's cosmic characters?)

I am starting back comics with civil war so I am defiently a newbie!!

An old Fantastic Four villain from another dimension is invading the Marvel Universe, and several cosmic characters are trying to stop him and his minions. There was a one-shot to start everything off and we're currently getting four mini-series, each featuring a cosmic Marvel character (Silver Surfer, Nova, Super-Skrull, and Ronan The Accuser). Once they're over, there will be a six issue mini-series tying everything together.

In terms of pertinent information for a newbie, each issue thus far has had a few text pieces in the back that explain who's who.

It's nifty. Give the "Prologue" issue a try and see if you like it.

Hi, I'm the ANNIHILATION editor. This particular statement is not true. It is not an event to kill characters. Each limited series (that Explative Deleted mentioned) is about a character and contains a full story. You can read as many or as few as you like. It shouldn't matter.

It's a lot of fun and we'd love to have you on board.

I agree with E.D. that you should just pick up the ANNIHILATION: PROLOGUE (it's 48 pages, no ads, and costs $3.99) and see what you like.

Okay so we have two crossovers going on at the same time? I think I'll order up the issues of this that've come out so far. Cosmic characters I like.
