Looks like it was the same Earth as before IC, but all the continuity glitches worked out.
Now that characters are aware of the multi-verse, they can reconsile multiple versions of events actually happening, maybe just not in the exact timeline that occured since the original Crisis.
So, think of it as Dan Dido's perfect Earth, where continuity is fixed, or at least everything has been brought into it, as having happened...even if only people know that it happened in a slightly different reality.
Make sense...no...me too!

yeah, I was under the impression it was the same earth we had before just without the continuity errors that came with forgetting we had a multiverse.

I think there are more changes than those caused by COIE. One panel in IC #6 suggests that Batman: Year 2 is back in continuity. Deeming that story non-canonical had nothing to do with COIE or the multiverse, so far as I know. I think the writers now have a certain amount of discretion to pick and choose which stories make up their charactes' 'official' history.

They'd better be careful with that; it's how they got into such a mess with continuity after COIE.

True, but they need something for the sequel in 20 years!
