Hey everyone,
I'm new here, you may know me from the ComixFan Forum.
I've just picked up the two mary-Jane Digests, and I thought they were Pretty good. I've ordered Spider-Man Loves Mary-Jane #1.
I was wondering, anyone else here Pick up the series? I've read on verious sites etc that Marvel has said it has a small but steady fanbase?
What do you guys think of it so far?

Mark me down as a fan. Sean McKeever is an excellent writer of "cutesy" stories tied (very loosely) to superheroes. For more of this awesomeness check out the Sentinel digests.

Yah, my girlfriend likes to read 'em. I figure once she's done with them I'll give them a go. I really like the artwork too, I've been thinking of purchasing some originals.

They're really cute and well done. Makes me remember how much I miss the teenage Spider-Man years.
My girlfriend loves them as well, and anything that gets the girl reading comics can't be bad.

I have the first digest of the original series. It's very fluffy and cute and it is one I lend out to friends quite a bit. The only downside is due to the art it gets bashed by some manga fans as 'wannabe manga,' which is always something that has irked me.

That's just silly! The series is drawn by a Japanese artist for crying out loud.

Loved Spider-Man loves Mary Jane #5
SPOILER WARNING!!!!
I love how MJ talks things over and finally decides to confess her feelings to Peter... Then she can't find him, so she asks Harry, and he says "Yeah, he's with some girl...." And you start thinking "Can it mean...", "This really knockout blonde...", and you think "Yes, it is, isn't it!" and then there's the ending panel with "Meet Gwen Stacy".
Brilliant :p

Oo. That sounds cool. I can't wait to get the five issues now (brought them on eBay). Spidy loves MJ looks to have steady sales, right?
I hope Marvel carries this series for a while to come. Anyone Remember Arana? I thought that was pretty good too. Then Marvel Cancelled. I hope SMLMJ continues to get strong sales so Marvel won't cancel it. As its one of the very few that are different, its not all super-hero-y-ish, only just connected to Spidy - which makes a nice change, you know?
But Marvel say that the Trades are doing very well, right? So if they continue to do so, we'll get lucky!

Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane is one of my favorite comic books. Maybe favorite. See my avatar. It is really well written and drawn. The art in SMLMJ is even better than the previous Mary Jane comics.

This better not have any Sins Past shit in it. I will drop it in a heartbeat if that happens.
On a good note, July 26th, 2006 is the release date of the first digest volume!

Uhm... I'm more of an "X" fan, so have not read much of Spidy. Can anyone give me a rough outline of what "Sins Past" was? It rings a bell... but..

Pretty damn sure it is :p Notice the entire "You're different than you used to be" discussion?
EDIT: Though apart from that this wasn't very interesting.... Well, I guess they'll deliver later on :p

Id read it, but i doubt there is enough crazy parting and drug usage as implied by mary janes early spiderman appearances.
A girl next door doesnt say something like "face it tiger, you've hit the jackpot"
A paris hilton does.

It is true that the arts done by a Japanese artist that use to draw manga. Just look at MJ's eyes...
