Okay, so i recently just popped into the comic shop by me on a whim, and i saw the Xmen 198 comic covers and thought the art was really awesome. The inside was typical comic art though, so I was kind of disappointed.
Im wondering, if you guys would know of anything with really unique, different art of the comic itself. Something that doesnt go w/ the norms. It doesnt have to be xmen or anything, I just wasn't sure where to post this.
Basically, xmen 198 covers are awesome, and I'd like to read an entire book like that.
Also, any suggestions for a noob to read as far as graphic novels are concerned? New stuff, nothing obvious like sin city, etc. I want to read the crazy abstract stuff.
Thanks guys

You might want to give X-Factor a go. I don't know what the newartist is going to be like but the art of the first few issues was certainly unique.

I agree with you, the covers rock socks. I don't know of a book being drawn in that style though. Bachalo's stuff is trippy and different. But not the same. If you are interested in different art, check out Sook's first couple of issues of X-factor. It's perty and noir, but again not like the covers to 198.

Crap, that was on my pull list but I don't have it. My LCS must have forgotten to put it in my file. D'oh!

It's quite good. I haven't picked up Wolverine since the Millar/JrJr run, but I'm glad I grabbed this issue.

those 3 look pretty cool. I'll check them out.
Any idea of any graphic novels with dif art to check out?
Thanks :) You guys rule.
I looked around for the Juan Doe guy who did the cover art for the 198 and it looks like thats his first jump into comic books, and just as cover designer. Was disappointed. He's doing the xmen civil war ones though w/ david hine, same guys for 198. so thats cool.
Can anyone explain this house of M thing to me too?
