Whoever it was who said that religion was the opium of the masses, they probably weren't refering to half a dozen versions of the same woman.

Read the indepth history of Aurora at: http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/spotlight/showquestion.asp?faq=10&fldAuto=120

Aurora rocks. Pre-Lobdell, of course. Byrne and Mantlo did great work. Tieri, too.

Tieri, too.
...post lobdell.

i'm surprised the spotlight didn't mention her appearing on the x-men 188 cover. granted no specific details have been released thus far, she's still there.

This was a great spotlight to read, as I only know the basics about Aurora, so it was nice to read her extensive history. She is truly an unique character, because how many superheroes do you know that have split personalities like Aurora has? She is a very interesting character in that respect. I'm looking forward to see what X-Men 188 will have to offer in terms of Aurora and Northstar: hopefully it will give them the respect they deserve. :)

That's funny, because I had just read that before chatting on this site again. :)

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. Of course, that was because of the Madelyne personality though right? And I don't think it lasted that long, not as long as Aurora's anyways. Hers is permanent right? That must be rough, poor girl. I think its also interesting to note that Aurora's is a genetic, natural disease, while Jean's was a result of magical circumstances; Aurora's is more realistic. :o

There has allways been something that has intrigued me about a super hero who has a split personality.

I never knew much about Aurora, besides her Weapon X period. She is really a ..... -up girl isn't she? Best thing to do is lock her up and throuw away the key or let a good telepath go into her and destroy all those personalities. I cannot even count how may she has. Well, we will see her soon enough in the X-Men series, together with herr brother and thew now blinded Snowbird.................ooops I didn't say that last thing

Frank Tieri planned for her to manifest a third personality in Weapon X (An awesome move, if you ask me), but the book was cancelled.

Just had to chime in here with a big thumbs up to this spotlight. I hardly knew Aurora and I want to see more!

This is one crazy ass character. There can many things done with her. I was really surprised to see her with a lot of romatic partners, but with her being blessed/cursed with so many personalites, I can understand why.

I'm lookin forward to her upcoming appearance in X-Men.

I truly wonder if the X-books really do have the right members starring. Aurora is one of those characters that could benefit with some serious panel-time.....man I wish I was an X-writer....

Wasn't so much a case of dropping it as resolving it in the last part of that weird judgment war storyline. At the end of the story when Jean uses all her power in tandem with cyclops to get the Celstials' attention she also somehow manages to exorcise the remnants of the Phoenix and MAdelyne personalities that were vying for dominance.

Sorry, but she developed a third way back in the original Alpha Flight, around the teens. But other writers dropped it after Byrne left.
