Pull the plug on Chamber... you decide.

I know I have been in threads a lot saying pull the plug on Chamber and I wanted to know if anyone else thinks the way I do. (Probably not)

Chamber was a cool character, but post House of M he just hasn't had that same spark he used to.

Seriously, I think by letting him pass away it would bring more weight to the whole "no more mutants" thing. And for which ever comic gets that story (if done correctly) would give it a well need lift.

Chamber could be a in line with Phoenix, Thunderbird, Cypher and the rest of the X-men that gave there life for the sake of the book. Instead of a hollow man in some hospital bed somewhere.

So yay or nay. And please give me your reasons for either.

1/2 the reason the DPS has awesome god-like status is because PHOENIX died. Not, like the Multiple Man or Kitty Pryde. But Phreakin Phoenix. I doubt it would have had the same status if Jean had lived. :P

So killing off a C-lister won't really have any impact, except to upset his fans.

Are you frickin' kidding me??? Pull the plug?? Chamber is one of my favorite characters ever!! He has great visuals, cool powers and awesome personality! Of course he has not the same spark after House of M, he's barely alive!

If it were me in that situation- I wouldn't want these extreme measures - I wouldn't care to live this way.

Yeah, I agree wit Hi-Fi! Chamber is a great character that needs a good writer to cultivate him. :)

At least Marvel didn't kill him off right off the bat, indicating that he'd have a role in the near future. Now we see that he's going to appear in New Excalibur #9 (in what capacity I do not know). Chamber is a cool dude and I want to see him succeed....I think he's fit brilliantly in X-Factor but we'll see what happens first with his appearance in NEx.....

And I agree with Novaya -- killing a C-Lister is pointless and stupid, it has no impact except for the character's fans (which are far less than a major player like Wolverine or Emma Frost). If a writer is trying to get a point across and wants a big blow to the team, killing Emma would be the way to go. :D

i think jono could have been a very popular character/definitive x-man given the right treatment.
i thought he would have possibly made a comeback as a horseman of apocalypse, but that doesn't seem to be happening anymore.
regardless, i hope jono sticks around/makes a comeback in some form.

I think he should be killed - as in the one most suited to the story - but then I like him and he's a proper brit (er kinda when he has a decent writer), so I'd be loathe to have no possiblity of him in the future (as it would have to be dead dead). No more mutants, hasn't really had any seemingly lasting effects on the X-men (outside of X-Factor, seeing as the likelihood is the Sentinals will be up and gone within 12mths), so it would have been nice to have a greater lasting weight to it.

I think he should turn up in New Excalibur #9, and Brian Braddock should construct him some machine-based organs to keep him alive. Chamber could then join New Excalibur as a human non-combatant, until the day when there is a credible way that he could have his powers restored. As a Briton and a casualty of M-Day he would easily fit into the tone and purpose of New Excalibur.

Maybe at a later date Roma could repair him. Who knows, maybe ny then she might be owing Brian a favour...? :rolleyes:
