That's incredible. What is it, a page that was never used, or...?

Thats something new: A page commissioned by a member of the forum (read the thread).
Its 2.5 days work, done all in one go, starting Tuesday afternoon.

I bet that cost an arm and a leg, but it's really wonderful. :)

I wonder how much he charges for a commission like that? It's pretty detailed.

Its a commision. As has been stated. Some guy told Byrne what he wanted and Byrne then drew it for him for mucho dollar.

I bet you gotta pay a whole lot of money to Byrne. I must admit, when JB wants to---the guy still has it.

The price depend of the number of characters. Does it answer the question?

Six characters or less for the base price. then a charge for each figure over six.

What's the base price? Is it stated anywhere? Not that I want Byrne to do me a commission, but I'm curious what a "star" like him would charge.

Thats the best thing I've seen him do in years. Why couldn't we get this typeof art for Doom Patrol or the Wonder Woman work he did ? Reminds me of why John Byrne became a STAR.

I'll do to you the same answer that one of the JBF posters, who by the way is the commissioner of this piece, did when someone asked the same thing there:
Go here and ask Jim Warden, John Byrne's art dealer (http://www.whatashock.com/doasales/byrne1.html)

I think...I think, now...that I heard/read that the base price is $1,000. Don't quote me, though, as I'm not sure where I got that figure.

It looks good. This piece is better than Byrne's other commissions.

It's a shame he's not drawing for Marvel these days. All of his recent commisions have been outstanding. This piece clearly outshines the wraparound covers by Billy Tan and Chris Bachalo. I'd rather have Byrne than either of those guys.

Are you saying that Beast was not in the Dark Phoenix storyline? Because he was a key character in the story. Or are you saying Beast is not in the commission picture? Because he is. Look closer ;) .

I am saying beast wasn't on the moon with the others, when they fought the IG.

Did you read the Dark Phoenix saga? Beast fought the IG's little green Warstar robot on the moon, just like Byrne drew in the commission piece. It appears you have not read the DP saga, or you would have known this fact ;) .

The X-Men on the moon in Uncanny X-Men 137 were Professor X (didn't fight), Cyclops, Angel, Beast, Dark Phoenix, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Storm, and Colossus. :)
