Sadly, I didnt not pick up JLA: Classified, seeing as my comic shop is missing the first three parts and I dont want to come into it halfway through an arc (Sorry Gail)

I DID pick up BOP today however, and all I can say is.

GYPSY!

GYPSY GYPSY GYPSY GYPSY MOTHER FUCKING GYPSY!

Thank you Gail. Thank you so much.

Oh, and Crime Doctors daughter was absolutly precious.

Only part I didnt much care for were the Black Canary scenes, but I'll forgive.

Cant wait to see Huntress vs. Prometheus next issue. Keep up the good work Gail-Chan. :D

Sad, as I have no money to purchase any comics this month, or next month, or the month after, but in September I'll have to do some major catching up. See this little Canary is in the Air Force, and this little Canary is gonna go to basic training on June 20th, and have the living day lights scared out of her. But I will read spoilers only so I can believe I'm reading the comic sad isn't it?

Once again BIRDS was a deeeelightful read.

(Minor BIRDS spoilers, y'all)

I want to see how Dinah and Shiva end up emotionally and physically by the end of this arc. I ALSO hope that Crime Doctor's daughter is not thrown away after this arc, she's a fun character. The number of 'one liners' was nifty, too... Gail's wit shines. I'm torn between Canary discussing kicking an old woman's ass, Zinda's 'riding shotgun' and Crime Doctor's daughter's 'hooker' comment. Fun, fun, fun... already read it twice, ya know.

The art was wonderful, as well... I'm still not getting why some aren't 'wowed' by it, it's not Benes but it has a great deal of 'oomph' to it. Hats off to them, hope they stick around a while!

Great BoP issue! I'm still not feeling Dinah's storyline but the rest of the issue was excellent.

Can't wait to see Huntress and Prometheus tussle.

My place didn't have Classified or most of the other new comics today so I gotta go back on Friday.

BoP was there though, and just skimming through it, I know it's going to be a good read.

Liked JLA:C,but i have been enjoying this story alot.

And Gail? I DID enjoy this issue ALOT more than the previous one. I especially loved the talk between Gypsy and Sh..i mean Jade Canary. Poor, poor Gypsy is in sooo much trouble.

Gypsys, tramps and thieves...

Am I the only person that didn't realize it was gypsy?

I know I was the only person reading the original Justice League of America when she was on the team. Why did I miss this?!?

I bought both, but so far, have only read BOP. I didn't love last month's issue, which I thought was a bit worse for all the OYL stuff. But this one was back to what I expect from BOP, and the changes that have been made seemed mostly for the better.

Wrong. I was there for that. And as poorly as that era is remembered (and rightfully so), it is hardly my worst Gerry Conway experience. As he created most of the team, clichés though they were, it left only Aquaman and Martian Manhunter for him to mischaracterize. The stories actually ranged from okay to slightly below average.

This was a solid issue of BoP. We got a much clearer picture of Canary’s part. definitely more interesting than the glimpse we were given last issue. We didn’t learn much in the main story, but it’s always good when Zinda shares the spotlight. While maybe a tad too heavy on the action, we were allowed to meet Gypsy through were interaction with the team. Which, I guess, was the point. And the next element of the story was revealed to us.

JLA:C was also a solid effort. For the most part I’ve liked this arc. Batman is getting to the crux of the matter and the finale should prove to be enlightening. I’ll admit that the final scene reeks of a false ending, one of those scenes that only appears to be shocking because of the viewpoint from which we were allowed to see it. We’ll find out soon enough.

Overall, a good week for YABS.

I can't get any books until Friday because of the Bank Holiday.

So I'll just have to sit around aimlessly for another day...

Honestly, I didnt get it was her either until I read it and noticed that Babs mentions her by name in her conversation with Shiva.

Actually, I kinda guessed it was her when I saw the fake cover where she was blurred out.

GailEvil woman! Just remember, I told ya all it was Gypsy when we first got to see the blurry cover!

And, I bet the thing in the trunk that Shiva doesn't want to know about? It's Canary's 80s costume! Disco Shiva!

Next month, we also find out why the kid didn't want to hold "aunty blackhawk"'s legs.... LB likes to go commando! AND she doesn't shave!

That's not one of Lester's Adrian Paul as Zinda fan art books you're looking at ?

Don't get me wrong -- I love the finished cover and I love Gypsy (I even dug her back in the JLA Detroit days). But does anybody besides me think that this issue's cover image was cooler when the person carrying Crime Doctor was blurred out so it looked like he was being carried by someone almost invisible? Now THAT was awesome!

I agree. And even blurred out it still fits Gypsy!

I didn't know it was Gypsy, cuz I've only vague recolections of her from years ago and I mean years ago, like pre-Geiffen Justice League.

But it was a sensational issue. Zinda is fast becoming a favourite of mine.

JLA: Classified was also great. This arc is beginning to grow on me. Batman having a chess match in his head. The looks of horror on the enemy when Supes shows up. Supes threatening the Chinese Premier. All priceless.

No 'kind of' about it, baby!

heh i still remember how i stupidly said 'Vixen' last month when i meant 'Gypsy'

anyway i thought BOTH BoP and JLA:C were fantastic this month!!!

i'm really digging the OYL BoP. Dinah's story is getting more and more interesting and i LOVE Lady Blackhawk/Gypsy/Shiva!! i'm surprised Huntress got fooled so easily though. can't wait to see Prometheus in action soon

JLA:C was as good as BoP, just that i'm still not hot on the arc. i'm not sure that's up with the last scene with J'onn and i don't believe he did what we're supposed to believe. it seems in the panel before the guy's helmet is on and later it's off. so i speculate that only the helmet was hit.

One thing I didn't understand in JLA: CLassified, although I think it is more because the art..

Did Wonder Woman kill that that was controlling her lasso? It looks like she knocked his head clean off with the barrel of the cannon.

So retro-actively, it's that soldier guy and not Max Lord that WW killed first? Where's Ray Tate, when we need him!?!?
