I wish more comic professionals were as accessible as you, so that I could tell them how much I truly appreciate their work. I thank you for sharing your creativity with us, through your comics, through your message board, and through your humor.

When I was in the hosptial a few years ago (I was being treated for anorexia and had to stay hospitalized for two months), we were allowed to do nothing but lay in bed and attend group counseling throughout the day. No television, no visitation periods, nothing. I was basically isolated, given only the option to read.

I grew up with comics, and at the time I was hospitalized (age 16), I had entered my 'too cool for comics' phase. In the hospital, one of the nurses asked me what I would like to read. I told her whatever she brought to me would be fine. She came back with a stack of recent comics, saying that I was relatively young and that she figured I might enjoy them. I thanked her and looked through them, seeing four or five issues of Deadpool, which I immediately remembered from Joe Kelly's run in the mid-90's. I read them, loved them, and was left begging for more. I looked at the credits to find the name "Gail Simone". When I got out of the hospital, I looked for more Deadpool with that name on the cover, yet there was none. Since then, I have followed some of the awesome work you have done and loved every bit.

So thank you. Thank you for providing me with an escape during a harsh and surreal ordeal, thank you for continuing to provide fans with high quality comics, and just thanks in general.

Also, you were part of my arguement within my latest column at Paperbackreader.com and so I thank you for that as well (plug, plug).
