Hey folks. I am able to add to my pull list and was considering adding Iron Man to the mix. I enjoyed him as a kid, and am enjoying reading him in the New Avengers as well. Is the book worth it right now?

Warren Ellis' Extremis story was incredibly well done with stunningly gorgeous art. Unfortunately there were like 4 months between issues. I'm sure that in collected format it'll be as good as they intended it to be.

The next issue (#7) will be under a new creative team. The writers haven't worked in comics before, but they did work a lot in TV. Patrick Zircher is going to be the artist. His stuff isn't digitally painted like Adi Granov's was, but it WILL come out on time.

Hard to tell whether or not it will be good, but they say they'll be keeping up the tone that Ellis established, so it has that going for it.

The last arc, as was said, was awesome, but good luck trying to find copies of the entire arc.

I've really gotten into Iron Man lately, so I'm hoping that the quality doesn't dip with the new team.

Oh, and if you aren't, Joe Casey's Iron Man mini is sweet

definately pick up Casey's Iron Man: Inevitable. it's old school in a good way. i hope the new regular title creative team can capture some of that spirit or, at least, make use of Tony's rogue's gallery.

Is there a reason why there is so much time between issues? Trouble finding ways of doing the story or do they simply want to take that extra time to make sure it's done right? Is Iron Man that big and important of a character that they'd allow that to happen?

They severely miscalculated how long it would take Granov to finish an issue. They originally gave it an every 6 weeks schedule, but his art style takes a long time.

the problem with all the best stuff Marvel puts out IMO is they get the best talent unfoirtunbatly with the best talent everyone wants them to be doing something because of thier talents

"thier hanrds our in to many pies"

this results in great books these people our working on being published so randomly an making us wait so long for them

EX Ironman YOung AVengers AStonishing X-MEN

[ superman/batman(( this had more to do with someone on the teams son dieing i really don't know anything about that but even before that it came out on a pretty screwy schedule.I feel bad for the persons loss an the cartoon style in this book is amazing

I didn't enjoy the first arc at all, except for Ari Gradov's beautiful artwork.
However, I love Iron Man: Inevitable. I'd recommend checking that series out.

I thought Extremis was very good, but it didn't really feel like it was taking place in the regular marvel universe. More like a complete revamp.

Give Inevitable a look, a lot of people seem to like it, but it doesn't do much for me. I like the new character designs for the Ghost and Spymaster, but I have serious issues with the pacing and the art isn't really to my taste, especially Irving's Tony.

I was thinking the same thing, it was just too Ellis for words and not enough Stark.

Iron Man: The Inevitable is pretty solid stuff but it's been moving kind of slow and I prefer the Warren Ellis's Iron Man book despite it's insane schedule. It just reads much better, it has a very in-depth Stark, and the debut of his new armor as well as some really great ass kickings.

I'm thinking about adding Iron to my list as well. The man is everywhere these days, along with Cap,plus he's one of the heroes I want to read about on a monthly basis.

Honestly I am just holding out for the Oversized Hardcover which should come out after Civil War.
