its one of those rare days where I post on every topic I can think of...

Perhapanauts was a blast. Even beyond the leader of the group having the last name Hines, this was fantastic. Dezago writes some of the most fun comics. I really hope they publish another series.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man continues to disappoint me. I am not sure if its just my disinterest in the pre-civil war iron suit wearing spider-man or if these stories are not good. Either way the writer (Peter David) gets a long leash in my book - so I will buy a few more issues.

Annihilation Prologue was good. It made me want to get every comic coming out of the prologue. But after skimming Super Skrull I decided not to get that. Silver Surfer I got. And Nova is a given. We will see on Ronan after I skim it. This is the sort of cross over I can get behind.

Hawkgirl was bad. I thought that creative team sounded great, but I found their first issue boring and visually confusing. I regret buying it.

I got Top 10 49ers. Its as good as everyone says.

Nextwave is so good. Ellis keeps writing stuff that I love. And this is just great great stuff. I don't really find it making fun of super-heroes. Its just fun super-hero stuff. Not unlike Livewires from a while back.

X-Factor is really good.

Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane might be my current favorite Marvel comic.

Blue Beetle was ok. The art was great. But one of the problems with Crisis (and crossovers in general) is it makes origins confusing. He goes on big epic adventure as part of his origin? I just can't get behind the start of the book as much as I would like. It makes me think of Venom. A fun villain, but his origin is so confusing to non-comics readers that he loses a lot of appeal.

Warlord is kind of cliché, but I love the art on it. Sears should always work in this style (more like his work on Path, less like his work on everything else).

All Star Superman might be my current favorite DC comic.

I hope The Thing never gets cancelled. Or She-Hulk. Slott makes me happy.

Superboy is dead? Or so I heard. I find the concept of Superboy kind of dumb. But Conner was a great take on the concept that worked for me. (Mind you I didn't like the twist of him being part of Lex's genes). A clone story that works. This is an even bigger waste of a character then Blue Beetle was. When they killed Barry Allen they had a perfect replacement lined up - and honestly the best part of Barry was his powers and costume. Not Barry. At least to this 31 year old.

Bomb Queen is good.

Fallen Angel is great. So was the Keep. IDW might be pricey but its got some good books.

I love Mike Carey's Hellblazer so much I recently started getting Brian Azzraello's run. After that I might get Ellis's two volumes. I have never been a big fan of Ennis so I am not sure if I will get any of his collections.

Infinite Crisis continues to be of no interest to me.
Civil War seems just slightly less un-interesting to me.

I miss posting here!

It's worth considering. Ennis's work on Hellblazer is completelyl unlike any of his other work (that I've read).

Kevin who?

Ah, that joke never gets old. ;)

I am quite sad to report that I share your disappointment in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. I have the "it is PAD, I'll give him some room" mindset, but if this were any other writer and I'd already be talking smack about them.

Glad to see you're loving Carey's Hellblazer. Azzarello pens some great *John* moments, but I felt Carey understood John a much deeper level. Or at least showed us that deeper level. Ah, you know what I mean! Of the Ennis trades, I hihgly recommend "Dangerous Habits". It is the most popular and it is Ennis's first arc. If Ennis still wrote like he did in this trade, I'd be a fan today.

Kevin (and everyone else), you need to listen to the WordBalloon podcast with Dan Slott. It is great.

I agree with many things. I disagree with few. I am now curious about one title. What you've been missing in quantity, you made up for in quality of posting.

And now maybe Jeff will come out of hiding too.

Both the Wordballoon and Comic Geek Speak interviews with Dan Slott come highly recommended!

I have enjoyed the series for the most part, but the most recent issue left me feeling kind of bored.

X-Factor is really good.

Yep, it's come out of the box real fast and real tight with the storytelling. Great read each issue so far.

Fallen Angel is great. So was the Keep. IDW might be pricey but its got some good books.

I have to agree here as well.

I wasn't thrilled with the last 2 issues of FNSM, but I'm really looking forward to the Hobgoblin issues. And I just read X-Factor #4 a few minutes ago, and that's still a cool book.

I'm still trying to recover from the blog story.

Someday, more people will listen to me.

Agreed. Looking forward to #4 today. I just read #1 - 3 this past week, so it's fresh in my mind and crazy fun. I know lots of people say it's slipped from its first issue, but I'm still really enjoying it.

X-Factor is really good.

Waiting for the hardcover in July.

Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane might be my current favorite Marvel comic.

I really need to catch up on that one. I'm a Marvel Fanboy and I might as well just admit it and enjoy it.

Blue Beetle was ok.

I still haven't read it. Having a tough time getting excited to read it. Hmmm...

I hope The Thing never gets cancelled. Or She-Hulk. Slott makes me happy.

Bomb Queen is good.

Ditto to both.

1. I'm a little worried that there wasn't a Thing issue solicited for June. I'm hoping that it's just a case of Marvel waiting to get more scripts in from Dan Slott and seeing how the initial trade will do.

2. I completely missed out on Bomb Queen. Think it was underordered as I have never seen an issue sitting on the shelves of my LCS (and they normally do a good job of getting 2~3 copies of most books). Luckily, there was a TPB solicited for July so I'll finally get the chance to read it.

I have a feeling Bomb Queen will be a DCBS speical and I'll get a good deal on it. It looks like a lot of fun.

Image is putting out a LOT of good stuff right now.
