Rice Omega's Quitely love has had me lookin' at his art a bit differently, trying to see things I might've missed before. Any excuse to look at JLA: Earth 2, again, will do, though.

Anyway, among the things I'm noticing (like how he seemed to know that potato faces wouldn't fly with the JLA) are little "extras" like in Simpsons cartoons*. One such example inspired this thread.

Anybody remember that dog from Earth 1 (CSA-Earth) that got punted by that jackass coming out of a nearby alley? Kyle got pissed and confronted the guy, scaring him and a bunch of by-standers away. As a result, damn-near everybody took off in different directions, including the dog... who ran right in front of a truck.

One of the last panels of that scene shows a truck driving by with red splotches in its path.

Kinda funny. Kinda funny. Kinda sad.
I couldn't find another place to bring this up, so I thought I'd just start a thread, in case anybody likes this book enough to talk about little elements they found interesting.

* - I haven't watched THE SIMPSONS in years, so I dunno if they still have a bunch of extra visual funnies aside from the main funny. They used to, though. I really dug that.

Hehe, never noticed that. I love all the subtle visual gags that Quitely puts in his art.

I think it was the "too" that threw me.

LOL you have to excuse me I'm a G.E.D. graduate :p , I bought the TPB a while back, so I referred to it as one comic. as for the "too" I really don't know why i wrote that. So umm.....can this get anymore uncomfortable?! :o

I'm a bit confused...Earth-2 was always one comic. It was originally released as a hardcover.

Holy crap your prolly right paul!!!! I was just unsure as to what the confusion was to begin with, So i assumed I made a mistake on it being a single comic?!?

OKay moving on, Um......yeah that was a good scene with the dog........

West, I have to say I never noticed that.

The only thing I took note of was that there's this guy looking up at the big screen in Time Square on the CSA's Earth who looks exactly like the guy who gets killed by Quentin Quire a couple of years later in Morrison and Quitely's run on Astonishing X-Men.
