You can see what I am already reading in my pull list below. Recommend me some stuff that I might like to try, preferably something that is at the beginning of an arc or at least a good jump on point. Already picking up an issue of The Thing. Doesn't have to be a superhero book either.

Zombie Tales, Conan. Or you could scrounge around boxes for back issues, that's what I do when I got dough to burn.

YA has a trade coming out this week, and you are a great and wonderful person for already having picked up the Thing!
Ms Marvel's on #2 (ewww) and #1 should still be around.

Well it's been a great day of relaxing and reading. Added to my pull list will be: Bendis' Powers, The Thing, X-Factor. Still have a few more to get through. Excellent recommendations guys.

Three good choices for adding to your pull list.
There really is a lot of good stuff out there at the moment.
(don't forget to enter the comp in my sig for pulling the Thing)

I would strongly suggest that you pick up the first Captain America TPB by Brubaker and Epting if your shop has it.
Satisfaction guaranteed!

I know you already spent your money, but Daredevil is, and probably has been IMO, the best title Marvel has been publishing since 2001. Bendis and Maleev's run truly defined the character and the title for a generation and Brubaker and Lark are keeping the gritty, crime noir edge and turning it up in intensity.
Pick up #82, the beginning of Bru and Lark's run. If you dig it, get #83. If you dig that, try Bendis' run in TPBs.

Check Mate #1 (not available yet!)
Conan (new creative team Mignola/Truman)
Loveless #6 (new arc, first TPB available soon)
Winter Men 4/6(best mini out there!)
enjoy!!! :)

I try to go out at least once a week and pick up some new books, so I'm always looking for different stuff. God bless disposable income. Anyway, I will keep these suggestions in mind for next week. Daredevil is one that for whatever reason (well probably because my only knowlege of the story is from the half decent movie) I haven't checked out. I'm trying to move away, if even a little, from the more traditional superhero books, because thats what most of my list is. I will take your word for it though and pick up the ish's you mention.

Marvel:
Young Avengers- A lot of fun, and the art and writing is top-notch. Hunt down the back issues, its well worth it.
X-Factor- The best X-book on the market. Peter David is in top form here.
Captain America- Maybe the best book Marvel is producing, period. This may turn out to be Ed Brubaker's best work.
Civil War- Unlike the lousy House of M, this one looks like it has the potential to change the way the Marvel Universe works.
DC:
Batman/Detective Comics- James Robinson is doing a great job on this title, Grant Morrison takes over next. Batman's future has never looked so promising.
Infinite Crisis + Specials- A lot of people don't like it, but I see IC as a big, sprawling epic with more plot twists than you can shake a stick at.
JSA/JSA Classified- The best overall comic run of the last ten years. A must have, for its characterization and stories.
Fables (Vertigo)- Like IC, an epic story, but slower-paced. Start from the beginning, and pick up the series in trade. You won't regret it.
