In the OYL issue of Manhunter, that is #20, we had a few references to some "horrible incident" in Metropolis in which we had flashbacks with what seemed to be dozens, if not hundreds, of villains and super heroes battling each other. There was as well an image of Dr. Psycho & a silhouette of Doomsday side by side overlooking the chaos. At first this seemed to indicate some sort of major crisis that occurs during the "lost year," however, in the OMAC Project special, Batman communicates with Sasha Bordeaux and tells her that villains are congregating in Metropolis and something bad is going down. So it seems that these flashbacks were really just referring to an incident that occurs in Infinite Crisis #7.
Now, as Doomsday may involved, this might be where Darkseid comes into play (as Geoff Johns has hinted at the various conventions with his comments of "Just wait") as the last couple times we've seen Doomsday (outside of the Austen issues), he's been under Darkseid's control.

this might also explain the Doomsday bit in the film shown at the beginning of Superman 650, with Superman's "last stand" being against Doomsday.

Isn't the big villians attack on Metropolois going to take place in the Villains United Special? I could be wrong but something that big seams a bit confined to just the last issue of IC.

It's not really a CRISIS without a congregation of villains or Darkseid, now is it? ;) :p

I think it will expand or continue the event. I know there's going to be a world-wild jail-break or something along those lines, so that will most likely be the focus of the Villains United Special, but I have a feeling there will be some focus in regard to Metropolis, which leads into a fight with Superboy-Prime or something along those lines.

Neither Darkseid nor Doomsday have had anything to do with Infinite Crisis or its tie-ins to this point really, so I wouldn't expect them to show up, it doesn't really make sense for the final issue.

How does the latest goings-on in Superman/Batman affect IC re: Darkseid? Does it at all?
All the S/B issue to date happen before IC

there's a mention of red skies as well in the OYL books right?
It's probably gonna be covered in 52. Not to mention, in OYL Superman, people know something has happened to Superman. Criminals obviously picked up on this guestimating 1-3 months after IC. What do villains do when there's no Superman around? They go nuts.

Superman's death has been a factor in IC. And Didio claimed that IC is a sequel to "The Death of Superman", I believe, as well as COIE.
So I expect Doomsday in the Villains United issue and IC #7.
Darkseid: "I'm here to kill Superboy, so that he'll

Darkseid (Now an fern): "Stop-"

Darkseid (Now a panda): "Doing."

Darkseid (Now a little girl in a pink dress): "That."
