Marvel's nickname has been the House of Ideas for years. Has DC ever had a nickname of their own?

Marvel has a history of more of "The worlds best comics!!" and "Marvel age" things, they may have felt they must highlight themselves.

"the original universe" really sums it up. Marvel, lead by Stan Lee, who love him dearly, learned everything he knows about promotion from 50's sci-fi/horror films. The hyperbole of "the House of Ideas," was meant to grab the attention of readers who knew what became Marvel as mainly a war story, romance, and monster comics company in the early sixties.

DC didn't need the tag line, because they'd just continued doing what they did, from 1938 on. Sure, the line was cut down after World War II, and before they re-created Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, and Atom in the fifties, but the big three, plus Aquaman, and I believe Green Arrow continued to be showcased regularly, the whole time.

I gotta say, Marvel's been anything but the "House of Ideas" in the last five or so years. More like the "House of Horrible and Contrived Money-Making Creatively Bankrupt Schemes and Stunts."

DC is, on the other hand, a place where ideas are welcome and are explored. Anything can happen right now at DC, or at least, just about anything. That's exciting, and I haven't been excited about DC in a long damn while.
