Guy Gardner definitely would NOT be a Yankee's fan, and there's no way that Ollie would support a team run by the biggest fat cat in the entirety of Major League Baseball.

In fact ... it stands to reason that none of the DCU heroes would support that terrible, awful, no good team composed of b*tches (A-rod), sell outs (Damon), and steroid users (Sheffield). I could buy him being a Cardinals fan (an equally dastardly team by the way), because they cultivate talent, as opposed to strip mining it. But the Yankee's? THE YANKEE'S? No way.

Not that I would tell you how to do your job or anything.

PS ... JETER SUCKS TOO.

PPS ... keep up the good work.

I don't think Ollie or Hal are Yankees fans. I think what we have here is just two guys who can't pass up free baseball tickets. After all, theres no reason to think that either of them won't be rooting for the other team.

Listen I loathe the Yankees, but I would consider it a great honor to see just one game in Yankee Stadium. And that is a fact.

I have to disagree with you Ed.

I definitely remember reading, as I was watching my DVR'd Baseball Tonight, that Guy had tickets in the Dug Out.

I can only assume that they were season tickets or some such, because no way would Steinbrenner miss out on making some cash.

Now, I suppose it could stand to reason that MAYBE they were given to Guy as a token of gratitude, but I certainly didn't take it that way. Logically, Guy is an underdog ... and underdog's don't root for the Yankee's. His pride would decline the tickets, or he'd give them to charity.

My blood is boiling Ed. It's boiling red hot magma.

I fired off a missive, an angry screed if you will, to Beau Smith, to immediately start pitching ideas for Guy to DC.

Actually, I'm going to have to disagree with you Ill. I think that out of all the teams that Guy would root for, the Yankees seems the most appropriate. Attitude wise - cockiness, egotistism, etc - plus, both exist as entities that people love to hate. Anyway, it was already seen in Green Lantern: Rebirth #1 that Guy, Hal, and John Stewart have been to a Yankees game.

Although, I read on Wikipedia that Guy's from Baltimore. Shouldn't he be an Orioles fan? Let's keep things straight here, Mr. Johns!

By the way, if you called the Cardinals (my team) dastardly, are you a Cubs (haha!) fan or an Astros fan by chance?

Ill,

You must have forgotten to put Boston, MA in your profile, it doesn't show up under your avatar.

Wait ... I missed a previous reference? That's it. How did Johns get hired? I must call for his resignation NOW! It further complicates matters that he serves an editorial function as well. We need to stop him early, just like the European Alliance should have stopped Hitler!

But, your argument is in fact flawed Mr. Barrister. Why? How can anyone love to hate Guy, when in fact, everyone loves the greatest GL there ever was? I mean, COME ON!

As for the Cardinals nation ... your team's stranglehold on the NL Central will come to an end this year, my friend. I don't care what Reynolds, Kruk, and Gammons say. Maybe you haven't noticed, we now have a center fielder by the name of Juan Pierre, who provided a real big spark on Monday. Forget about the fact that one of our pitchers gave up a dinger to a pitcher who went 0-1 last year with an AVG of .073. Dusty Baker has LaRussa's number, and the Cardinals days are numbered!

:(

Then reality sets in, and I start rooting for the Red Sox.

Not only did Arroyo hit his first major league homerun...he one-handed it! But my grandma could hit a home run in that park.

It's funny. Reynolds, Kruk, and Gammons picked the Cards to win the pennant...and then Ravich picks the Giants/Blue Jays? Does he know baseball? How is he hosting Baseball Tonight?

Sports Illustrated picked us too, by the way. They also put the Cubs at 4th in the division. I think that discredits what they're more than capable of doing. I think they've got either the third or fourth best lineup in the NL, and if Prior and Wood can get and stay healthy (ha!), who knows how they could turn out. But then again...they are the Cubs.

As to Gardner, good sir: I think you're drinking the Guy kool aid, buddy! Stupid dumbface flavored kool aid! Guy only thinks he's the best! He's not the best! Kilowog is the best!

That HR was embarassing. I was sitting there on my couch eating taco salad, at which point I yelled:

"WHAT?"

Then, the Polish repair guy fixing the drywall in my apartment came out and said:

"OK?"

To which I was like,

"Yeah."

and turned off the game by the 5th inning.

Though I dislike the Cardinals as a whole, I do enjoy the webgems that Rolen, Pujols, and Hollywood Jim put up. Rudy Eckstein had a good one the other night when he went sliding into the foul barrier.

Kilowog is pretty cool. That issue where he and guy tear up the JL Embassy grab assing is one of my favorite.
