Planetary Question

I thought the last issue of Planetary was supposed to be the 25th issue? I picked it up today and was surprised to see it end without resolution. As much as it pleases me to know that one of my favorite comic series hasn't ended quite yet, I'm left wondering how many more issues are remaining.

"By the end of July (2005), PLANETARY will be pretty much done, save for the aftermath/closing issue, which I may have taken off the schedule and released a few months after #26 as a coda. "

"Issue 25 is no longer scheduled for a February 22nd release; it's been pushed, without announcement or explanation for a second time in as many months, to April 5th. Issue 26 doesn't appear in solicitations for May, and there's still been no word on a revised release date, so June would appear to be the absolute earliest we might expect it. Ellis finished the script for 26 the first week of December (though it may have received some tweaking in the interim--more below), so everything appears to be waiting on series artist John Cassaday. Cassaday may be in a bind here, as his X-title's return was pushed up a few months in Marvel's schedule. Here's hoping he can juggle both well enough to get 26 and 27 out before the end of 2006. (Ellis, along with Wildstorm VP and General Manager Hank Kanalz and editor Ben Abernathy have all separately stated at one point or another that there are plans for an epilogue-type format for Issue 27 later in 2006, as Ellis' and Cassaday's schedules allow; let's hope that this is still in the cards.)"
