So the heores remember the alternate earths? Does Batman know about his E2 counterpart for example? Wasnt E1 Superman surprised to see an E2 counterpart?

I think they know of the E-2 versions and what not. Nothing in great detail.

Nope. At best, they think that E-2 Superman and Superboy Prime are some type of alternate universe versions of themselves. E2 Superman does know the whole story and could have filled in everyone on the way to Earth-1 (Oops...New Earth now!)

Actually, if I remember correctly, Superman-2 told Batman about his Earth-2 counterpart when they met in the Batcave. As for how much they all know about the multiverse and whatnot, that probably varies from character to character, and only a few should know the whole story.
