Did anyone else realize that we're at a once in a lifetime milestone right now? In just two minutes, the Central Time Zone will hit 01:02:03 on the date of 04/05/06. Isn't that just crazy?

I was thinking that this won't happen for another 1000 years... but then I realized that it will happen again after noon today.

But still, it's kinda cool, isn't it?

So where were you when time became 1 2 3 4 5 6?

This is the second time I've been told this today, and the second time I wondered how it would not work in the first decade of every century.

I suck at math. Am I missing something?

Yeah I don't understand either. 2106 will still be abbreviated as 06 in 100 years...

Yeah, you're right. I don't know why I thought it only happened every 1000 years.

It's still pretty neat.

Hey, the e-mail I got earlier today said it would only happen one time ever.

So, you got one up on that crap. But then, has spam mail forwarded by alleged friends and annoying relations ever contained anything worthwhile?

Actually, it should happen two times today, for those of us who don't have 24 hour clocks.

It'll happen two times, as BB notes, plus it will happen again in 2105, 2205, 2305... etc.

Actually, it won't happen until May, for those of us who write the date the right way round.

11:11:11 11/11/11 will also be cool for anyone who's into that kind of thing. And it's not that far away.

It drives me nuts that dates are written differently. You do it in order of specification, right? It makes MUCH more sense... Time/(Day of the week if using)/Date/Month/Year, right? If we're gonna go Month, Date then we ought to put the year first instead of last. (Which is actually how I save some files to keep them in order.)

Gah. And I'm enough of a dork that I suddenly felt like using Stardates for my journal and googled it.. only to find that they started out hella arbitrary and it won't really work.

Btw, RR, 06:06:06 06/06/06 is a bit closer. ^_^

Not if certain pups keep wagging their tongues as often as they do their tails!
