I Feel Like I've been hit by a truck. Back pain, headache, dizzyness, nausea, the works.
Yet I am at work.
Why?
Because I don't have fever and am the first one in.
Am I foolosh?

Ummm....yes.
That said I don't think I've taken a sick day in about 2 years, but I know I'm an idiot. This is about you.

I'm sitting at work on a night shift, feeling like I'm about to die.
Well, it's only a cold so I probably won't, but it sure feels like it.
My nose is running, every now and again I have a nasty sounding cough, and it feels like my brain has been replaced with all my snotty tissues of the past few days.
And why didn't I call in sick?
Because I wasn't supposed to have a night shift today - it was meant to be a day shift - and my boss said I'd only have to do half a day tomorrow.
So for some reason, probably my brain being made of snotty tissues, I decided half a day off with full pay was better than a full day off with full (sick) pay, so I came in.
Well, that and I come to work unless I think I'll be physically incapable of making the trip to work.

I'm sure that if whatever you have is contagious and one of your coworkers gets it, they'll be very happy you chose to come to work and spread it around the office. Wow, that's just a terrible sentence.

I dunno that this is Morts' situation. It's just something Dennis' post reminded me of:I'm sure that if whatever you have is contagious and one of your coworkers gets it, they'll be very happy you chose to come to work and spread it around the office. Wow, that's just a terrible sentence.
I've had super-dedicated/obsessive co-workers who'd come in when they were hacking, sneezing, and snotting all over the place (basically like me without the meds) as if we'd burn down the building without them.
A mild, probably-not-contagious illness is one thing. Do what you gotta do, I guess. But this habit of coming in and spreading sickness from co-worker to co-worker on a humbug (no pun-intended) is for the birds.
As you might be able to guess, I've gotten sick b/c of those co-workers.
Heh. You should see me wielding a can o' Lysol like a cross... and that's when *I'm* sick! S'hard to tell, sometimes, when it's cold/flu or my allergies.

Well, I'm not sure if this fits, But I was having a bit of "eye" trouble yesterday.
I just couldn't see going in to work!! SO, I did what any "Sick-day abusing, system-bucking, work-Nazi" would do. I called in sick and rode my Quad for the day. I worry terribly about spreading my illness to coworkers.
So I suppose you have me on the other end of your spectrum. Sniffle? Oh, time to take a day off. :D

You're a good guy to work sick. I respect that.
Having said that, I think you are indeed foolosh. I would have called off.

Part of the problem is there's no-one to call, you know?
That said, I just filled my wastebasket with last night's dinner, so I'm getting ready to go.

Damn. Yeah. Take care of yourself.
Upon returning to work, you might want to bring up the value of a contingency plan for such situations, in the future.

Hell, I cry off work when I've got a minor case of the sniffles.*
I know the place won't collapse into a heap just because I'm not there for a few days, and my work won't benefit if I'm not 100% on the ball.
*When I say sniffles, I off course mean the depilitating horror that is manflu. Women just don't understand this affliction. What may just look like a mild cold to them, would knock them out if they ever got it. Which of course they can't, as it only effects us blokes.

I'm already at Port Authority. No buss for half an hour. Good thing I have FF issues to read. Anything to keep my mind off throwing up again.
Dr. suzannah prescribed plenty of sleep, fluids, and bedrest. She also suggested the watching of the Farscape.
I heart her.

Just work until you have an ulcer. That will distract you from your headache and nausea.

right there with you....I can not stand being ill, and the office is off limits to anyone who is sick....a phone call or email will do, but keep your coughing, vomit and snot to yourself.....

I'd rather have to do a bit of extra work because somebody's sick than get infected myself.

I don't know, there's something too sublime about nubly for him to be a troll. He's like iwarrior, just from another earth where he cut the candy bars out of his diet and started working out.
Plus, he's made 1000s of posts. If you keep it going that long you stop being a troll and become a performance artist. Heck, I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination that there might one day be CBR transcripts in the Guggenheim.

Hey, what are all these calls on Suzannah's cell to a cell in Rockland County? And why did she have lipstick marks on her neck last night...
