I got this on an impulse buy today. For once, it wasn't a bad impulse. This is great, great stuff. Simple bluegrassy/spiritual-y/roots country type stuff. Good songs, great voices. Anyone else digging on this?

I haven't heard this one, but what I've heard of her other band, Rilo Kiley, was pretty good. And I watched The Wizard last night, starring a young Ms Lewis. Such an awesome movie, haha.

Damnit! It just occurred to me now that was the recently released solo project by that girl Rilo Kiley.
No, I have not heard it yet, or Rilo Kiley for that matter.

Yeah, being a big, big Rilo Kiley fan, I snapped this one up a while ago. Great stuff. They call her the indie rock Loretta Lynn.
I think that Rabbit Fur Coat may be better than some Rilo Kiley, but it's hard to beat Rilo's first one Takes Offs and Landings

I am rather sad to say I'm not familiar with them at all.

It's got that ever-so-rare "still good three days later" quality.

The New Yorker was just raving about this album. I tend to agree with their music people. That's how I found Snakefarm, for example.
I'm #30 on the local library wait list.

The album is fantastic. I'm not sure if you still can, but when it was first released, you could download every track but one from Jenny Lewis' website onto your Itunes or whatever.

Those links are dead unfortunately. You can listen to some mp3 of her doing a live set here. (http://littleradio.com/blogwire/1000)
