Great show?

Or greatest show ever?

I'm thinking the latter. Oh miss... you dropped your peas.

Oh, there were a bunch of lousy episodes. Mostly at the very beginning and very end. But the creamy middle, after Fox had stopped caring about making the show look like other sitcoms, but before they had milked the show for all the comedy it was worth, was pure genius. From around the time where Kelly grew boobies, to when Peg had to keep leaving the show to have miscarriages.

Then apparently you missed the episodes featuring Seven. He was like Cousin Oliver times ten. The way they wrote him out was sheer brilliance though.

Come to think of it, several of the episodes during the period when Peg and Marcy were both pregnant weren't that great either.

I've also heard bad things about the last couple of seasons.

The show was classic though. My favorites are the game show episode from season one, two part Supermarket episode and the one where Al introduces Bud to the nudie bar.

Yeah, but just like pizza and sex...a bad Married with Children episode is still pretty good.

My favortie Married with Children episodes definetily begin during the last Steve episodes all the way until the last season. Those were great episodes.

Dude, the 7 episodes were great in their shear horrible-ness. That made them great. And some of the pregnant ones were masterpieces...including Al Bundy: Shoe Dick. Who would not want to see Al Bundy in a crime noir.

Truth is, there were some pretty damn good Seven episodes. Like the pirate fantasy show. Or the one where they went to the park. Although it could be there was more Seven in the shows before they were edited down for syndication. But the pirate episode where Steve came back is still one of my favorite episodes of the show, with Marcy as the bewitching Cabin Boy-Girl.

Great episode. Rubio the Cruel if I'm not mistaken. And I like the park episode. Don't they only have one Hot Dog to BBQ between them, and the other family is totally rich and have the dude parachuting in. Dude, some 7 episodes rock.

I think the best episode of Married with Children ever was the one where Al took Bud to the nudey bar. You know, where the male Bundy's kick ass.

I'll second the two part supermarket episodes for being the best. Even had Kelly bouncing up and down in a kiddie pool to give Al some "Jacuzzi action". I think it hit it's peak during the first two seasons that Jefferson joined the show.

Second favorite episode is with "Spare Tire".

As far as Jiggly Room bits go, the best was when the Feminists closed it and turned it into a coffee bar with poetry. My eggs! My eggs!

But it had the best Nudie Bar rhyme:

Where a buck's enough to see their stuff, at the nudie bar.
Where the breasts may be fake but man do they shake, at the nudie bar.
Where you swear like a sailor, and wish you could nail her, at the nudie bar.
Where the cops are at the door, and there's a Kennedy on the floor, at the nudie bar!!!

For pure sex though, you can't beat Al dreaming about a pre-Baywatch Pamela Anderson and Becky Mullen, aka Sally the Farmer's Daughter from GLOW Wrestling, fighting over him. And I even have screencaps.

Which does lead to the question, when MWC was on, Kelly was older than I was. Now she's younger, and at some points underage. Is it wrong for me to be turned on by the same imagery that turned me on when I was 12?

I loved this show, even the first season, but I gave up when Peg left the show. It was starting to get lame the season before she left, and after Peg was gone, the few episodes that I saw were just bad.

Still, there were so many good episodes that I will always have fond memories of this show. The pirate episode was great. The episode when Steve came back was fun. And that twisted Christmas episode with Sam Kinison was pretty good, too. Remember NO MA'AM? National Organization of Men Against Amazonian Mastery.

I happened to be in high school during that exact period (Seasons 3 - 7). My body was an amusement park, and Kelly Bundy was the maybe the most oft-ridden roller coaster. Maybe this is why I still dig blondes.

God, this thread has made me remember how much I loved Kelly Bundy when I was in 8th grade :D

This was one of those shows my parents (well mom) didn't want me watching when it first started so I would always sneak it. My wife hates it and I still love it to this day.

There are days when I start off a rant about my job (which isn't anywhere near related to this), "A fat woman rolled into the shoe store today..."

It happened more than once though. At least twice. Once, she was just hanging out in Wanker County. The other, she was trying to track down her father around the world.

And then there was the time where they tried to incorporate her pregnancy into the show, and then she miscarriaged. That was kind of sad.

Well, that may mean loser to you, but let me tell you something. Every morning when I wake up, I know it's not going to get any better until I go back to sleep again. So I get up, have my watered down Tang and still-frozen Pop Tart, get in my car with no upholstery, no gas and six more payments to fight traffic just for the privilege of putting cheap shoes on the cloven hooves of people like you. I'll never play football like I thought I would, I'll never know the touch of a beautiful woman, and I'll never again know the joy of driving without a bag on my head. But I'm not a loser. 'Cause despite it all, me and every other guy who'll never be what he wanted to be, are still out there, being what we don't wanna be, forty hours a week, for life. Loved Married with Children, most notably seasons the middle seasons. Got my mom hooked on that show too! Favorite Bundyisms:

The REAL Bundy Motto:

"Hooters, hooters, yum yum yum. Hooters, hooters, on a girl that's dumb."

Episode at the car wash:

Al: "Look Peg, CAR BRAS!
Peg: "Al, why would we ever need car bras?
Al: "Oh, they're not for the car Peg. They're for you mom, you see it even comes in her size, ASTROVAN!

One of the show's infamous Christmas episodes, where Al uses makeshift items he stole from "Ray's Bar" as gifts (paraphrasing, please forgive):

Al: "And for you Peg, this necklace!"
Peg: "Oh Al, it's beautiful...Al, why is there a "Ray" here?"
Al: Because you're my...RAY of sunshine!"
Peg: "Oh Al!"
Al: "Oh Ray!"

I loved that show till towards the end it really lost alot of umph. Especially when marcie took over as producer or whatever. But can really tell the difference when they were full steam in the show and when it went to al flushing the toilet followed by the canned hoots and yells for its jokes and not much else between.

But man when that show was good it was great.

The episode where al had the mouse in the house and al tried to kill it was my favorite I think and the one where they had to spay buck was pretty damn funny to.

Inbetween them actually, IIRC. There was the first pregnancy they wrote into the show, the second one where she just went to Wanker County for a while, and then the third where she finally carried to full term, where they did the bit where she was chasing her father around the world. Katey Sagal had some horrible luck with pregnancies.

My favorite was always the Labor Day backyard cookout episode where Peg knocked over Al's prized grill ashes and Kelly used the ashes of Marcy's dead aunt as a replacement. Between the reactions everyone had when they found out (except Marcy, of course) and the subplot of Al actually wanting to have sex with Peg so often that she was the one who didn't want sex afterwards, it's one of their perfect episodes, at least during the Steve years anyway.

You're wrong. And I know this, because on the E! True Hollywood Story on the show, some consultant FOX had hired in the early days said that as long as MWC showed that in the end, the family loves eachother, they might have a hit on their hands. And Moye told the guy that he was the reason television sucks.

Two of my other favorite episodes are on FX right now. The first one was the one where we first meet the Wanker relatives, including King Kong Bundy and the Singing Wanker Triplets. The second one was the controversial "Period Piece" (yes, that was the title of the episode) where The Bundys and the Rhoades-es go camping in a cabin, only to have Kelly, Peg, and Marcy have their cycles at the same time while all the forest animals crowd around the cabin because they can sense the women are in heat.

1. Al's Circumcision (nuff said)
2. The pilot episodes for failed spin-offs (the one about the college radio station, the 'Friends' spoof, "Top of the Heap")
3. The seven episodes
4. The episodes where they wrote-in Katey Segal's pregnancy.
5. The episode where Peg takes birth control to prevent Al from winning an inheritance
6. The "lost" episode : Al and Peg's second honeymoon.
