I'm missing the original airing of the pilot, but I'll watch the rebroadcast at 11pm.
I've seen two reviews. One really good, one really bad.
Andre Braugher rocks though, so I'm looking forward to this being a really good 6 episode season.

God said the booty just to find for this Earth
Pretty good. Slow but figure it an exposition episode.
Interesting how the handle a daughter
Not Father of a Year I see
There NO WAY I leave my daughter in that house with those guys given the way the act. It seem the one guy practicly threaten to hurt the kid
Then again it is his STEP daughter. So maybe not much love there but still.

Pretty good start. One of the twists was revealed in a lot of the reviews but the second one made me take notice. Pretty bold move for a premiere episode.

I missed the first fifteen minutes or so (I tuned in when the wife was talking to him about his daugther), so can someone fill me in on it? I think this may be why I was confused as to what the hell was going on.
Either way, it did move kinda slow for my tastes, but I'm hoping they don't have only failures to come. I wanna see some badass heists work.

Wow, it's like they realized they were filling in the timeslot of "The Shield", and said to themselves, "Obviously after the sunshine and roses of the Shield, our audience is going to be in the mood for something a little darker and grittier."
(sarcastic glypth)
I mean, you know how Vic Mackie is an evil man, but you can sometimes appreciate him because the scum he gets off the street are even worse?
"Thief" is about those "even worse" guys.
It's intriguing and putting a lot of effort into fleshing out the characters, but man-o-man is this show dark. It's like the producers said to themselves, "You know, if Ocean's 11 were a real gang of thieves, they'd kill anybody who was likely to talk at the end of the job to make sure that no trails could lead back to them."

They're showing it again Friday night at 11pm. God bless cable tv, and multiple airings.

I recorded it, and I can't wait to see if Aundre Brauger pulls a Pembelton in this. Fans of Homicide: Life on the Street know what I'm talking about.

The darkness is one of the things that hooked me. The course of action they took and why they did it made perfect sense. It also left no doubt that these aren't gentleman bandits but criminals.

They had already agreed to kill the guy, though. Him showing up at the leader's house just accelerated the schedule.

don't like or love this show yet (hasn't grabbed me like the shield, grey's anatomy or lost did), but it's worth watching to see if it develops into a good show. big minus so far, as they've aced two of the people i was excited about seeing in a quality show, dina meyer and linda hamilton. oh well... :(

My thoughts exactly. All the promotional ads prominently displayed both in print & on tv both Dina & Linda & they wax 'em both within 45 minutes of them getting into the episodes.

Adrian Monk would be cured of his phobias if he knew Sharona was packing a smoking ass like the one she had on display on Thief last night.

I like the performances well enough except for Malik Yoba. Never could understand the appeal of this guy although I guess he's okay for female eye candy.
After watching the first episode I could only wonder how Andre Braugher's character has managed to last as long as he has since he apparently has no control over anything or anyone. I knew he was in trouble when he told his men to leave the cash and they openly refused. Once they got clear of the bank and were safe he should have put a bulet in the back of their heads, looked at the other members of the gang and said: "Anybody else want to argue with me?" And there was no way he should have let a cokehead junkie with the shakes that bad be in charge of circumventing the alarm system.
I'll give it another couple of episodes before I decide wheather to continue watching or not but THEIF hasn't really grabbed me the way other similar shows like HUSTLE or HEIST have

That was...underwhelming. I was expecting episodes 1 - 5 to be an amazing build up to a climax so big that I'd crap my pants.
Didn't get that here. The whole show was a mess, since not once, did we see anything go right for them. What kinda theives are these?

The FBI discovers the money from the plane has been stolen, so it doesn't leave New Orleans upon the layover. This forces Nick and the gang to work faster than they had planned. To make matter's worse, Nick's friend, the old man with the cabin, can't get the bullet out of Gabo, from when Parry Shen's character shot him last week. Shen's character is dead, and him and Will Lee's Uncle Lao comes to claim the body, and plans on killing Lee's character for his failure in protecting him. The food cart driver picks Elmo out of a line-up, so the feds know who to look for. Furthermore, Nick's friend in the cabin gets greedy. He figures he's already got Tammy, and decides to hold her for ransom. He wants Nick's share of the heist for Tammy's safe return. Nick tells his crew to take their cut and scatter, while he gets Tammy back. Gabo, it would seem, dies as he's leaving town, his wound bleeding out. Elmo gets pinched, and the other member of the crew gets away, but the girl from he was in love with doesn't want to be with him. Lee kills Uncle Lao before he gets killed. Nick gives up his cut of the heist, but tells Tammy the truth about everything, and gets back the ring Tammy pawned to try and leave town. They drive off into the sunset, and seem like they'll finally learn to get along. AWWWWWW!!!!
I was hoping this was getting the 13-episode treatment, 'cause this finale just seems too damn abrupt. And who knows if it'll even be renewed. It seems to have just popped up and now it's gone as quickly as it came. It just all seemed rather anti-climactic.

It was the weakest link so far in FX tv series I have seen thus far. Very anti-climatic, it really did not give the viewers anything to grab hold and get behind.
I would not feel bad if this series did not get renewed. Give me more Rescue Me, The Shield, and Nip/Tuck.

I feel the same way. I kept waiting for something different at the end especially after the doublecross.
Like I said, us darkies can't get away with a damn thing!

wow that final came out of nowhere
Could of swore they had a longer season
Needed to be longer to flesh everyone out
Pretty good though. Didnt quite live up to it pontential
Question did the main guy have any money left.
DrewTheXenocide

I don't think so. I think he only had, what seemed like, pocket money left. I think he gave everything from the heist up for his daughter.
