The more I read about this, the cooler it seems.
You see in this comic I don't mind that Wolverine is on the team, because there is no history involving the X-Men because there are no X-Men in the Marvel Adventures universe as far as I know (somebody correct me if I am wrong).
It looks like a fun, comic, hope it lasts.

This looks cool. When is it supposed to start?
I have a six year old son who is a budding reader and he enjoys the Spiderman movie, so I was hoping to pick up an all ages comic for him at some point. this might be the ticket, since I like the Avengers too and the art looks nice.
EDIT: I just need to read instead of look at the pretty pictures... Summer '06. Nice!

is it me, or does that art look better than 90 percent of the other art marvel puts out?

I liked it too. Nice and clean. If you read the article the artist is beating himself up... I don't understand why, I think it looks great.

I got a chance to talk to Jeff Parker (the writer for most of the Marvel Adventures line, including the Avengers title) at a recent con and he was incredibly enthusiastic about getting to write these characters and had a very good explanation for his choices. He talked a little bit about upcoming stories and they all sound like a boatload of fun - he's really trying to bring back the "fun" of the Lee/Kirby days for a modern audience. The stories will be both "done-in-one" and have connectivity/continuity within the title. Parker talked a little about his efforts to write a title that has something for ALL ages, not just a title that is "just for kids."
While I was talking to him, a boy about 9 stopped at his table and began reading the MA Fantastic Four (I think it was the one with T-Rex on the cover) His father was trying to interest him in some original art and statues at the next table over, but the boy just sat down on the floor to read.
I generally tend to read toward the more "adult" end of the pool, but I'll definitely try this when it comes out.

Well hopefully not. It would be interesting to see wolverine as avenger without all the history, and without him being on two to four teams.
