Who, in your opinion, does the best wrestling moves?

By this I mean, who does the best, in your opinion, body slams, headlocks, chops, splashes, etc.

I would have to say that the guy who did the best chops, IMHO, would be Ricky the Dragon. People "WOOOO" when they see Flair do it, but when you watch those old matches between them, it looks like Steamboat is literally choppinf Flair. Good God, his chest was bleeding and red as a fire engine after those chops. Brutal.

Chris Benoit's chops are pretty deadly as well.

Yeah, but he still is properly stomped in the arm drag department.

Ricky the "Arm" Dragon Steamboat

Every move Benoit does is golden, especially his flying headbutt. And Let;s not forget Hogan's "Leg Drop of Doom." :evilsmile

Andre's chest slap was terrifying. He didnt need to shush the audience for everyone to hear it.

That must have felt like getting in the chest with a board.

Technical wrestlers: Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Steven Reagle and the rookie monster brock Lesner. Honorable mention to the WGTT and Owen hart

Power Wrestlers: L.O.D., Kane (feel seriously bad about what they did to old glen), Kevin Nash (at least before his legs gave out), Vader honorable mention to Psycho Sid and surprisingly Test (saw one of the matches where he was actually allowed to use his full skills and it blew me away how technical he is with his power wrestling).

One move wonders: Jake "the snake" Roberts (ddt plus great on the mike)

Hard to classify: Undertaker (love his modern mix of his old school moves, brawling with actual technical finese), power wrestler with a twist. Honerable mention: Edge (if he ever got rid of that stupid spear, he actually has a descent repartroir and mix of power movies and technique) and Christian. Also Chris Jericho.

High Flyers: RVD, don't usually watch too many of this style and remember

I can remember watching an RVD vs. Orton match quite awhile ago now, and coming away awfully impressed by both of them, quite entertaining.

Chyna was pretty damn good at "the low blow". Plus she's the only female wrestler whom I think could actually contend with the likes of male power wrestlers.

Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle are modern-day masters of the mat. I have yet to see anybody go at it faster on the mat, trading holds, than those two. I seriously believe that both of these men are on their way to the Hall Of Fame, truly two of the best today.

And Bret Hart is one who left me just as impressed performing a simple vertical suplex, the way he kicks his legs out after heaving the guy in the air just looks cool. And that firgure four leglock around the ringpost is the best submission hold I've ever seen in pro wrestling.

Not to mention X-Division wrestlers like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, and Sonjay Dutt. The only high-flyers I'd send over there from WWE to contend with them would be RVD, Rey Mysterio Jr, and Paul London.

Shawn Micheals, RVD, and Shelton Benjamin are some more guys who have great movesets both in the high-flying field and on the mat, another group of guys among the best today. Not to mention Booker T, who mixes the power moves with the high-flying stuff, he's one of the most athletic guys out there, to me, with or without considering his size.

Same goes for Ron "The Truth" Killings, man, this guy must've played street ball or something, because his hang time is amazing. And the Rock, he's another guy that mixes the power moves with the moves that require a little more athleticism, and he makes the moves his own. No one I've seen does the moves the Rock did in the ring quite like the Rock, all he has to do is mix his own style into a move and it's like he reinvented it. And the "Legend Killer" Randy Orton is another guy at the top of the ladder it seems in terms of athleticism. No one does their in-ring thing quite like him either.

Lance Storm did it all damn well IMO, Benoit's probably the best though.

When it comes to watching the best variety of moves in the WWE, I have to say Shelton Benjamin. He brings out different things every couple of months and there are things he did back in '04 alone that put the majority of Raw's movesets to shame. Rey Mysterio has a great all around move set. High Flying and counterwrestling specials that no one else in the WWE can even dare attempt. While Benoit has been doing formula matches these days, he shown a great moveset from 2000-2002. The women's wrestler who got fired awhile back who went by Jazz had a GREAT moveset and was a class above any the best of the male wrestlers. Molly Holly too. A worker I nicknamed "the Chris Benoit of women's wrestling".

Just a few of my favorites.

Only because "she" looks like a man and has a penis. (at least her "thing" looks like a penis) :p She's absolutely gash in the ring , i remember her matches with the likes of Jericho & Jarrett and it was cring inducing.

Just to let you know, this thread is about who does the best individual moves.

Angle and Benoit are great, but which executes the best bodyslams or figure-4's or headbutts. Thats what this is about.

samoa joe: when i first saw him, i thought he was just some power wrestler. but that changed. joe has a deadly combo: the tech of benoit, the speed of rey mysterio, and kicking power of taijiri. joe dominates the moment he hits the ring and doesnt stop until he beats you. that heavyweight champion in the making.

benoit/angle/gurrero: IMO, the three best tech wrestles since bret hart. i can bet you all that some of the best matchs often involve any two of these three. eddie is the first to join the hall of fame, for the obvoious reason, but i can see, no i predict that benoit and angle will enter the hall of fame before they hit 50.

I know you wanted answers for who does the best moves but I had to get in this chest chopping conversation. Scott Norton gave the hardest chest chops I have ever seen. I remember he BRUTALIZED Ernest Miller and caused what looked like blood vessels to pop on his chest or some kind of internal bleeding.

If its pure wrestling its always gonna be Benoit,Malenko,Daniels,Angle and the rest. If you want a Show that will have thrilling moments I'd say Shawn Micheals. He has slowed down but as I told people in 2004 , even at 50% HBK can still blow the entire roster away with a Main Event fans will remember.

A.J Styles is another one. The man is simply....AMAZING to watch. You have to wonder if Styles can keep the same pace he has now or will his body ala Micheals fail on him when he hits 30 ?

Styles and Micheals is a dream match I'd love to see. If TNA does loan guys for ECW:ONS II this year I'd request to have Micheals come over and work a PPV or 2 with Styles. Be f-ckin awesome. ( Plus its not like HBK will have a lot of things tying up his reduced shedule now...and a TNA/WWE fued with the 2 men who claim to be Show stealing guys...would be cool.)

Hardcore Holly throws the worlds best dropkick.
No one could stomp someone as well as the Rock.
JBL throws the best clothesline of the modern era.
Perry Saturn's flying elbowdrop put all others to shame.
Kurt Angle's moonsault is a thing of beauty, pity he never hits it.
No powerbomb can compare to that of Big Van Vader.

Also, Andre the Giants headbutt's looked devastating.

Well , the first time he ever tried that move , he broke Hardcore Holly's arm , guess that stigma will always remain for Angle. :D

Test does the best "big boot" out of all the big guys in the WWE.

Angle's moonsault is absolutely beautiful. Moreso than anyone else, he looks like he's just floating in the air. Christopher Daniels' BME is pretty nice, too.

I like Undertaker's Big Boot, because he runs into it rather than letting someone else run into it.

Benoit does a million things well, but his snap suplex is the best.

Angle's moonsault is absolutely beautiful.
I remember the first time he did his moonsault and busted up Hard Core Holly's arm. that was one hell of a flub, but then again it was his first time.

I hafta say, I'm a huge fan of the DDT that Lita was using there for awhile - had a real snap to it, and as far as selling a DDT, there's nobody does it better than RVD. Everytime he takes a DDT I'm thinking, "That's it... this time, he's dead."
I'm also a big fan of Chris Jericho's chops.
And I love Kurt's moonsault.

Best Knife-edge chop: Benoit / Flair (tie)

Best Chop / clothesline off the ropes: Ricky Steamboat

Best Superkick: Gentleman Chris Adams

Best Hurricanrana: Scott Steiner circa 1990-91

Best Elbow Drop off top rope: Randy "Macho Man" Savage

Best Belly To Belly Suplex: Kurt Angle

Best Belly to Back Suplex: Rick Steiner

Best Gorilla Press Slam: Ultimate Warrior

Best cross body press move: Sting (Stinger Splash)

Best Time Delayed Finisher: Rick Rude's Rude Awakening

Best Jumping DDT: Sting (wish he still used that - was in his arsenal early in his career)

Best springboard sommersault: Keiji Mutoh (AKA Great Muta) in his prime, possibly Shelton Benjamin now. Chris Jericho was up there also in his prime.

Best criss-crosser: Rob Van Dam - he can change speeds and movesets on a dime to fit the action as it is progressing, and can usually set up a rolling thunder, rolling clothesline or a spinning leg kick into the mix.

More as I think of them.

I'm also a big fan of Chris Jericho's chops.

I love how Y2J yells when he does them and a few other moves. It's like "Nraaagh!" every time he does a chop. I really like that.

OK, he's not so much these days, but a couple years ago, no one was a more versatile big man than the UnderTaker.
I still think that Undertaker is awesome. His match with Kurt Angle recently at the No Way Out (can be found on youtube) and their rematch on Smackdown a week or two later were just awesome. UT still does all his standard 'big man' stuff, but now he's thrown in a lot of punches, and some actual grappling/submission holds. I think that Undertaker still has "it" and is in no way too old to be in WWE. I'm eagerly awaiting another big title run for him.
