Kal-L & Kingdom Come

Was Kal-L in the Kingdom mini series when they introduce Hypertime? I remember seeing him at the end of Kingdom #2 with the Daily Star in the background as he gave the famous eye wink. Question: Why didn't Superman and Superboy try to help when Gog attacked all the Supermen?

It seemed to me that Kal-L had trouble punching through the barrier at the time. He was unable to break it no matter how he tried.

The real answer is likely that they had no intention of bringing those characters back at that time. Earth 2 Superman was never directly involved in the story, I don't think - only KC Superman, Earth 1 Superman, and a series of future versions of Earth 1/KC Superman were attacked by Gog. From Earth 2 Superman's vantage point, it was probably no different than any number of other serious crises affecting Earth 1 that he didn't participate in.
