Ahhhhhhh. Vacation time. The wife works at a school for special needs children. She got off this week for spring break, so I took off work, too. 9 freakin' days. I've still got the rest of today and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Know what? I've done a little bit of everything and not even left my neighborhood. Sometimes, that's the best kind of vacation.

I helped my Dad run some errands, helped my dad work around his house and played a word game on the computer with my mom, my wife and I had a hell of a dinner and played some Triominos with my folks, watched season 1 of Star Trek: Enterprise. Watched volume 3 of Family Guy. I've read, like 10 Batgirl comics and a couple of other comics (no new stuff, though, due to my comic book store being an hour away - by my work). I've watched Arthur Haily's Detective, Lady and the Tramp, an episode of Andy Griffith Show, and I'm listening to A Knight's Tale while I write this. I've sorted through some Magic: The Gathering cards that I got in December. I'm getting ready to sell some for $125 or so. I've played some Ninja Gaiden and helped my wife beat a part in Prince of Persia 2 that she'd been stuck on. I plan on watching Superman: TAS volume one, too, now that I got it fixed. I'm recording a copy of the disk, because it'll play in my DVD drive, but not on my DVD player. Now that I'm recording it, I should be able to finally enjoy it - I got it for Christmas and have only been able to watch the first disk.

Plus, yesterday was the 8 year anniversary from when I first asked my wife out. We celebrate it, too. We went to the gym and worked out a little and then swam for, like, an hour. Then, we came home and spent like 2 hours out in a secluded little place we've made in the woods. We had blankets and a fire. We had spicy hot dogs and s'mores. We had . . . well a great time.

Ok, I started this thread for many reasons. (1.) To show my excitement about getting a vacation, (2.) find out what you guys have been up to on Spring Break. (3.) list a bunch of crap I like to do to give you guys a more intimate view of my life (boring as hell as it might be), and (4.) because I just love to hear myself type.

Love, peace, and chicken grease!

Good for you and your wife. It sounds like you found soul mate. It's a good thing I don't know you eight because I would have been one of your friends saying what the hell were you thinking getting married at 18 to a woman you didn't get in the family way? Okay I'm veering off point here. Look I'm ecstatic that you've found true happiness depite the fact that you getting married must have broken Monkey Boy's heart all to hell.

1. I got married years before I met Monkey Boy, but yeah, when he found out, he took it rather hard.
2. If I married every young woman I got in the family way with, I'd have to move to Utah. ;)

My spring break's sucked pretty hard. Been working 730-330 job to pay off about $100 worth of debt I dug myself into while at college. Having to get up at 6 really screws with my head.

But it's not been too bad. I enjoy spending time with my uncle and mom, and it's nice to have a real bed to sleep on. I took 6th place at a local Vs. tourney against some pros, and that's something I can live with. Also been planning out a couple RPG campaigns I'm running when I get back, and organizing my college group of Vs. players to go to GenCon in August.

I year ya, man. You don't want that hundred bucks hanging over your head.

Well, dang. I had to go back to work, today. But I did have a great rest of my vacation. I got to work in my yard some. I got to play with my dog and cat. I got to watch some more good movies: Wild Things and Changing Lanes. I got to have a couple of homemade shakes. Hope your vacations wound up well.

What is spring break?

I **NEVER** had a spring break.

Had a week off from school a few times that was fairly boring and got lots of reading done, but Spring Break?

Some people do NOT get to have fun.

And then there is me,who considers fun a alien word.

I spent my spring break completing end of semester projects so I can coast for the rest of the term.

I have never heard of this 'spring break'. Is it some kind of karate move?

It sounds like you had a good time Az!

Spring break for me means less traffic in the morning. :) So that's a good thing.

I spent Spring Break in Dayton, OH @ a conference. Yes, I am truly a geek. Yippeeee! No offense to any people from up that way, but ughhh---didn't really dig it that much, and my roomate kept making crappy jokes about how he thought we were going to Dayton-A (FL), yeah, that got old after the first ten times he said it.

yeah, it's on eof the main reasons I am trying to stay in school as long as humanly possible. Its either that or a government job to get as many days as one can. :D

I think this might be a first. For once someone other Azrael 52 has revived one of his threads. * Looks suspiciously at RandomRapidResponse if he is from Arkansas and has a web based sitcom.*

Spring break? Never did that. Was either schooling, working, and if not doing both, didn't have enough money to go anywhere. Last year went to Vegas last May and that was my first vacation in over 10 years. Not a big fan of window shopping anyway and thats all spring break is.

Hah, Actually not from Arkansas, but originally from TN--so we may be cousins. As for the web-based sitcom-nope.

Spent most of it playing Civ 3 on huge pangea with the maximum number of random civs. That's fun.

I tried City of Heroes--Emily got it for me--but it just doesn't do anything for me. I think I'm just more into single player games than the multiplayer stuff, though there really isn't much difference in how they play out.

I've read a lot of comic books, and listened to Dar Williams on a nearly continuous loop. I keep wondering how someone I've never met has managed to write so many songs about me and my family.

And Emily and I have spent quite some time playing . . . other games. I'm quite sore this morning. In a good way.
