I saw the solicited picture for SS#1 a few weeks back. Looks the same. It's ok,but i was hoping more of a group shot for a Issue 1,rather than a partial body part mix.
And Chesire eh? Guess Deathstroke's rep is going downhill. Can't kill too many people anymore. Unless he has massive backup.
How do you pronounce that address...?

In fact, I thought Phil Noto did it when I first saw it and that's a big compliment. Don't get me wrong, I like Kerschel's work a lot too. It's just that the original reminded me a lot of Noto's past covers, some even with Birds of Prey.

You're right.
It does have a Noto look to it.
I like them both.

True, still doesnt change the fact that she's an amoral psycho bitch who'd stoop to using her own unknown child as a meat shield.
But considering this is a team that bolsters two Apokalyptians (Knockouts still in right?), she's in pretty good company.

When are you going to make Monkey Boy put that kick-ass Jim Lee Batman/Nightwing poster back up? It's only been down for like 2 years.
Also, Gail, that cover rocks. Bring back the team, I say. I can't wait till the next mini and the next and the next.

Don't give in SK! Make them clean the place up,make dinner(or order for NON PIZZA dine out),and then wash all the dishes and take out the garbage before the poster goes up. And then only if they behave. ;)

YES!!!! Thank you Gail!
I'd love to be painting comics covers & whole books. I'm reliable and fun to work with. All it takes to get me on a project usually is just to ask & I make the time---but that's just the thing. I'm used to people asking, but comics folks don't even know I'm here! I haven't had an agent, and have worked solely by word-of-mouth and good reputation, for 23 years now in fantasy & SF art, doing covers and interiors & concept art. But the last stuff I did in comics was... huh... 15 years ago? Eclipse Comics.
Thanks for looking out for me Gail. I really appreciate it.
OH!
Speaking of Eclipse!
In cleaning out some storage area today at the house, we found burned-edged and water-damaged, some of my original FUSION pages that survived the studio fire back in the 90s!
And photocopies of the pencils I did for Longshot at Marvel!
And some Polaroids of paintings that burned up, but I can scan the Polaroids and hopefully make them live again!

It occurs to me every time i see this thread that Gail is going to go on,such as Neil Gaiman did during the Sandman, about how ancient Pope's "doodies" were considered sacred artifacts. Then i get this weird image of Priscilla,Queen of the Desert in my head again. And just shake my head and reach for my pain meds.
Really. My mind is THAT F'ing twisted.

The Longshot thing I did was just a little 8-pager for Marvel Comics Presents. Art Adams had been very helpful in giving me page layout & composition advice for a couple of years, so when the editor asked what character I'd like to do, naturally I wanted to do Longshot as an attaboy and thank-you to Art Adams & Ann Nocenti.
My pencils were, well, detailed and delicate. Bless his heart they gave Alfredo Alcala just two days to ink my 8 pages. It wasn't quite his best work.
Longshot came out looking rather like Meat Loaf.
Tell you what, sometime in the next coupla days I'll scan in the stuff I found, and post it in a thread, if you want (and the moderators don't boot me in my feathered rump).

I probably HAVE that issue, but its in my comic book room, and would take waaaay too long to dig out. If you can find out what issue it was published, might just be easier to buy instead than hunting it down ;)

OK, the Longshot page pencils, some of the Eclipse Comics FUSION page pencils, and some full inks from FUSION were all found in one of the partly-melted bins in the storage shed. I did scans of them (water and scorch marks and all) and I'll post'em here on a Larry Pictures thread this week. Sound good? I also found some other stuff I'll be happy to share.
Keep in mind these are rough AND they're like, 15 years of talent ago, so gimme a break. :) But I'm happy to provide.
