I´ve been feeling the need to read some good, and new, Thor stories. Both Stormbreaker: The saga of Beta ray Bill and Thor: Blood Oath sounds like they´re great stories. My LCS has both in TPB form but I only have enough money for one of them.
Which one would you recommend that I buy/say is the better story?

If you like the cosmic stuff, go with Stormbreaker. If you like the way they wrote the older Thor comics (frost giants, etc) go with Bloodoath.

For my money, Oeming has gotten better with each successive story he's written. So Blood Oath is better, but Ares is better than that.

If you plan to buy both, then go ahead and get stormbreaker now and blood oath later, cause Stormbreaker kinda ties into Ragnarok a little bit. I still need to get Blood Oath in trade, thanks for the reminder.

I agree about Ares. That book is good.

Bllod Oath was the better of the two in my opinion but only because I love the story better.

I would have said Stormbreaker 100% if it had not had such a horrible last issue. That last issue alone killed the whole series for me. It was just that lame. I have never seen a series go from spectacular to crap in just one issue like this one did.
Go with Blood Oath.

I'm going agains the grain and saying Stormbreaker: The saga of Beta ray Bill
LOVED the entire series.

Despite the slightly anticlimatic ending, I enjoyed Blood Oath so much that it made me wish the warriors three and Thor had an asgardian adventures ongoing (set in the vague past of course). Kinda like a grown-up version of the cancelled Son of Asgard title.
YEAH, YOU HEARD ME.

if you don't mind shelling out a bit more, also consider the loki mini series by rodi. thor is a minor character but it is still an excellent asgardian themed story.

Though I really liked Stormbreaker, I preferred Blood Oath because it was as full of fun as it was of action.
The Loki mini was outstanding, though; definitely a must-buy.

That would be my pick as well.
It's a fun story, and if further worth picking up for the sweet Kolins' art.
But now that we've helped you make your decision, you have to come back to this thread and post your opinion of the story after you've read it ;)

I loved it.
A classic style Thor adventure with action and friendship. My love for the warriors 3 have been reignited by this. They´re just cool in every way. And the fight between Thor and Hercules is one of the best I´ve seen in awhile, the best part was there actually was a definite winner.
It was all presented in a fun and enjoyable way and Kolin´s art fitted Thor more that I thought it would´ve.
Great, just great.

Loki was good but it felt more like a Conan story than an Asgard one.
