hi guys, not sure if this was the right place to put this question, but has anyone ever tried to suscribe to comics on a yearly basis through marvel? I have several comic book stores here in san diego, so availability is not an issue. I think it might just be more convienant to get them mailed to me. im trying to make up my mind if i should or not. i was curious as to how they (Marvel), ship these books to you. do they get bent and torn up? How late do they arrive? Have you ever had any problems with them getting lost in the mail? Help me out guys...

When I got them in the mail they were bent quite a bit and occasionally came late. They never got lost though.

was it worth it in your opinion?

Yeah it was very convenient and I did not really mind the bent quality. Usually they came on time and I think they are slightly cheaper if they are delivered too.

Yeah, they are worth it. The average Marvel subscription costs (for me) $20-24. 12 issues in the comic shop would costs $36 for a 2.99 title. Not to mention you save on sales tax, gas and money. The one bad thing is this: With a comic shop you have more freedom, if you dont like a creative team you can drop a book no problem. With marvel you have to call them up and do all that stuff. Plus, the only offer so many books, so you might not be able to subscribe to some of the better books Marvel puts out.

Nah, you might get a couple issues the same week as when they come out, but traditionally they will come a week or 2 later.

Condition is usually fine, they come sealed in plastic with a cardboard back board. Depends if your postmaster is a prick or not, it says do not bend on it, but sometimes they dont care about that. Thankfully I have a good postmaster. Overall the condition is fine, they are never ripped or anything, you might sometimes have to put an issue between two heavy books, leave them for a couple minutes to straighten them out.
