OK i searched and couldn't find it, what issues does Cassandra Nova (btw why isn't her last name Xavier? Is she just trying to distance herself from him or did i miss something anyway) what issues or TPB does Nova blow the bejeezus out of Genosha, becuase it's obvious that this event basically led into House of M and all that but I've never actually read it.

Just for future reference, this is the type of question that should go in the catch-all "Ask your various questions about the X-Men here" thread. But to answer your question, it was in the "E is for Extinction" storyarc of New X-Men, Morrison's first issues. I think it took place at the end of his first issue, (N)XM #114.

It was at the end of #115.
It's in the "E is for Extinction" trade.
"E is for Extinction" deals with the Genosha's destruction:

However, the Cassandra Nova storyline runs up to the Imperial arc.

thank you :)
I was quite dissapointed in the actual massacre. All we got were a few lousy panels; I wanted a lot of pages with detailed drawings showing dismembered bodies, children wailing, people screaming and all round chaos.

Yea-- and don't forget the raping that occured in all of that chaos.

:D And don't forget the stump ****ing!
I really hated this story. I'm actually a bit of a Morrison fan, but I didn't much like his New X-Men. It rubbed me up the wrong way. Bought a couple of trades and actively disliked it.
Maybe it's because I grew up with Jim Lee styled 90s X-Men, and the fox cartoon series, but while I like The Invisibles Morrisson f***ed too much with this. It didn't feel like X-Men anymore...
And Casandra Nova? Why the hell does Xavier need a sister? This was just stupid.

No need! Where the hell did that come from?
You haven't seen the Mighty Boosh stage show recently have you?
Back on topic, I kinda know what you mean about Morrison. I actuially kinda liked the idea he had, of what he wanted to do to the X-Men, I just don't feel it came off to well. Created a fair few problems for the Marvel Universe, too.
Plus I hate Frank Quitely's art. I haded it on The Authority and I hated it here.

I love this arc. It's one of my favorite X-Men stories ever!
And Quitely's art is just gorgeous.
