are pretty tame.
No offense. I was just reading the other thread, and all the ideas were
pretty safe. Not that Marvel would let anyone DESTROY the X-Men. No offense. And not that I could do better.
I'll go one up and say I wouldn't even try. I would however try to diffuse
the books a bit. X-Factor is a step in the right direction.
ASTONISHING would end. It's really a great read but requires THAT writer
and THAT artist to continue, in my opinion.
With all the nostalgia going around, why not tap into that?
I think we ALL agree that Xavier needs to die. Seriously! He would make a
better martyr at this point.
You have a core team, a black ops type of team, and the students. That's all.
The mansion? Yesterday's news. I loved X-Factor's SHIP...but that's a little
lofty too. I'd put them all in a NEWER looking business looking building. All
mirrored exterior type. Think X-Corp. They stay headquartered just outside
of NYC. The students are all 15-19. No really young kids. All old enough to
take care of themselves if need be. Cyclops could retire but still be used as
a guest star...a little. Emma could go with him...or just turn bad again.
I would like to hook Scott up with someone new...or unexpected...and just
have him hang it up. Maybe go explore space with his dad and new love.
A happy ending. Of sorts.
Beast would be a reoccuring guest as well...more of a FORGE role. And
Warren would be the financier of all of this but also stay only semi-involved.
Iceman could stay around too. Not sure about him yet.
Who are the X-Men??? Who they should be by now. The ones who are in
their early twenties. Cannonball. The leader. He would fill the Cyke role
pretty well. Magik returns in the "Emma" role. Still tainted...but a little
toned down. THEN..we could bring in Sunspot...who I adore...and Rachel
could stay on...as PHOENIX....
More later.

I'd kill Storm.
Then I'd feed her body to wild pigs.
Then I'd kill the pigs.
Burn the pigs.
Launch their ashes into space.
Fly the rocket into a sun.
Have Phoenix come back and make the sun go nova.
And still some later writer would probably still find a way to retcon Storm back to life.

The "Storm" molecules would combine with an alien symbiote in outer space, then coallesce into a new Storm in a Black Costume in the year 2099...

yours seems pretty tame; more like an idea for New Avengers than the X-Men. i'd take away their costumes, their hero status, and their Shiar tech. they'd just be genetic freaks holed up in that mansion and occassionally have to fend off the military, Sentinels, hicks, marvel heroes, and 'evil' mutants. Xavier would have grown up in the basement of a weapon x compound & have been used to assassinate enemies of the United States from afar, until another mutant assassin (Erik Lehnsherr) would have busted him out. this Xavier wouldn't be a kindly grandfather type or interested, initially, in holding hands & singing with humans. he would just use his powers to get them a mansion and invite other mutants there for protection.
and the only real difference between Xavier and Magneto's groups would be that the latter are learning to make bombs, while Xavier's refugees are learning reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Sorry if my initial post came in as a little snobby. It was just the same
regurgitated cast...locale...etc...even the villians.
If your going to redo it...redo it. No offense intended. Nor did I say
my ideas were "GREAT". Plus...the other thread is super long. :)
So....
Pull Warlock back in as a techie-teammate. Used when needed.
Wolverine could wander in and out sort of to...check in on the kids.
Big statue of Xavier in the lobby of the building. Classrooms and all that.
One of my BIGGEST things would be to show mutants in other places that
we don't normally see. The midwest...sure Cannonball is from KY...but there's
more to the world then NEW YORK. You want to get kids to buy comics?
Make them a little more relatable with more realistic settings. Have the
X-Men do a lot of old school X-Factor mutant savings and stuff.
I like X-23...oddly enough...so...she's in. I would also make some new
characters...because most of the mutants have generic or ill defined powers.
Mostly the students...but by students I mean like 10 or 12 tops. And these
are mostly powerful or disfigured mutants. Instead of HOUSING 100's of
mutants, they hand out image inducers. Cost effective to say the least.
Filling out the rest of the team? Who knows. I'm partial to Husk...written
correctly. Dazzler as the Older but not much wiser team mate. She needs
to be written as older...but not as old as she's written now. I like Elixir as the
"medic" also could be good for some missions. Tarbaby brought in for comic
relief...and...let's use...Catseye just to shake it up. Or is she dead?
I'm sort of short on male members. I'm like Claremont...I like my strong
women apparently. A male telepath who would go by the name MASTER
MIND but have no ties to the earlier versions.
So...
CANNONBALL
SUNSPOT
WARLOCK
MAGIK
DAZZLER
TARBABY
ELIXIR
CATSEYE
MASTERMIND
X-23
Phoenix...

No offense, but its not too different and should've gone in the other threads just like this one.

Some of what you've said about that Redoing The X-Men Thread is true. While some of the ideas are good others involves nothing but killing off X-Men characters they hate, like that would make the books any better.

So yeah. You decided to make a whole new thread just to bash other peoples ideas and post your thoughts on the same subject because your ideas are so much better and worthy of their own thread?
Blown, my mind is.... yeeeessss.

A bit tame, maybe.
But I'd depower ALL OF THEM. I want to see how all of them adapt or adjust to society as humans, not just preachy mutants who live in a school like nuns. Sure it had been done before (I think), but I want to see how guys like Scott handle being human for once or like Emma who feels vulnerable without her telepathy.
