Hey there,

I write reviews for comixtreme.com.

I usually get a lot of feed back about the comics I am reviewing, but only rarely have I gotten feedback about the reviews themselves (except for Corrina, thank you very much!) I try to make them interesting or entertaining....so that people will continue to read them, but I never get any feedback about that.

Just so you know, the main reason I do this is not because of any grudges or anything. As a writer I want to examine what I think works and does not work in other people's writing. It also forces me to write something, anything, when I don't have an idea of what to write.

So here are some reviews I wrote. The first is probably the most negative review I have written, the last is the most positive.

Nick Fury's Howling Commandos #5 (http://www.comixtreme.com/forums//showthread.php?t=25505)

Ms. Marvel #1 (http://www.comixtreme.com/forums//showthread.php?t=25570)

JLA Classified #17 (http://www.comixtreme.com/forums//showthread.php?t=25177)

JLA Classified #18 (http://www.comixtreme.com/forums//showthread.php?t=25711)

The Thing #4 (http://www.comixtreme.com/forums//showthread.php?t=25180)

Thanks all.

I enjoy your reviews! They're always fair, even when I don't agree.

I've heard people saying they didn't like the first issue of Ms. Marvel. I am leary of picking up a new title and not enjoying it.

I may try it. That reveiw was long. ;)

Try to make them shorter. Check (although in that one I was channeling my college professor.)

Your reviews aren't bad, my biggest problem with those is that I haven't read the books, so I can't tell if you're off-base or on the mark most of the time. But from the past ones I've read, you seem to treat both the books and your audience fair, which is something a lot of reviewers seem to lack.

First, how the heck did I miss your birthday? Your homeless cats were told specifically to dial me at the stroke of the hour of your arrival, and dangnabbit, I expect they instead stayed licking their hindquarters and enjoying their comforts, so to speak.

The reviews are sweet. I really like how you reference the author's statements about writing within a review. I think it adds both credibility to your writing because it indicates you researched, and it's a treat for the reader.

If I were to pick a word to describe your reviews, it's honest. I believe you believe every word of what you wrote, and sadly, I find that's sometimes not the case with reviewers. I don't need a reviewer to pass on the spin of someone else's opinion, since I could probably get that on my own.

Nice stuff. Hope you keep it up. I'll keep reading.

And I hope you had the best-est-est of birthdays.
