That dirty lebian Gail Simone has a whole flock of simulcrums hanging on her every word. What other people throughout history have had large simulcrum followings?

I don't know, but at least there _FINALLY_ is a new in-joke at YABS.... HUZZAH!

I think it has the potential to become a cult.

If I ever start a rock band, I'd call it Simulcrum.

I'd call mine " The Beatles ", " The Who ", " The Beach Boys " , " AC/DC ", " Midnight Oil " or " The Rolling Stones. "

They all sound kinda neat.

Okay, I had to think long and hard about this... and it tired me out so I needed a nap...

But, I have tthe correct answer. After much thought and consideration, there are two:

Elvis

and

Diana Ross.

Not yet, in another 10 years or so.

Wow, she'll be 76 by then.

It's a good thing she's a vampire.

Who needs rock bands?

Can't say how many times I've gone out into public and heard people say, "Hey Gail Simone!"

I've always wanted to be Sumulcrum. I've only been a poor copy of one so far, though.

is it anything like a clone or a dittohead?

Only if you listen to Rush and accept the prescribed medication.

Clones are the fans of sports talk show host Jim Rome.

I still don't get why people would accept such labels... maybe this thread would clue me in...

oh, do Parrotheads or Deadheads (or Fruheads) count?

Even Budrillard would agree that Gail is master of the Simulcrum!

No, see it's like this:

First there was Elvis. Then came the Elvis Impersonators. Then the Irish Elvis Impersonators who are actually impersonating Elvis Impersonators as opposed to Elvis himself. Was that confusing enough?

Then you've got Diana Ross... The follow up was Drag Queens... Then there was Micheal Jackson.

I think Howard Dean led a number of Deaniacs...I mean Simulcrums. Unfortunately, simulcrums, like Symbiots and Autocrons, are vulnerable to sonics, so his scream destroyed many of them and drove the rest into hiding...here at CBR.

Who's Howard Dean ?

An American politician, whom people who don't like him assume people who don't like them like, but they don't necessarily like, they're just stuck with him, which isn't the same as liking him.

And that makes as much sense as Dean himself does.

Plus, American politicians tend to be living caricatures, spun and tuned past the point of ridiculousness, manipulated by experts til they become pancake-makeup camera-ready automata clicking off soundbites for lazy reporters to cut-and-paste. Dean looks and acts like a MAD Magazine drawing by Don Martin. Dubya wears cowboy costumes (brand new cowboy hat, fresh blue jeans, brand new pickup truck, when his handlers want people to think he's "good folks" (like every other multi-millionaire oil kid you know)) or Military Guy costumes (flight suit for the multi-million-taxpayer-dollar "Mission Accomplished" carrier-landing photo op). And so on.

American Politicians are simulcrums! Or is that simulcra?

And Hillary Clinton is DEFINITELY one of Ga1l S1m0ne's All-Comfortable-Shoes Attack Lebian Commandos.

I could picture Hillary garrotting an opponent one handed or doing that cool neck crack thing.

Hillary is probably closer to J-Bolt. Tipper Gore is more like Ray Tate. Then again, I can hardly blame Tipper for going mental, being married to Al Gore for this long can't have been good for her mental health.

That just sounded... wrong.

"Jimmy Dean, is not my lover... but the kid is not my son."
