Gail,

Around this time last year you said that you could could only really write two comic books a month, maybe a third if it was a limited series (like Villains United.)


Now you have, let me see.....


Birds of Prey
Gen 13
The Atom
Tranquility

Oh, and you limited series, Secret Six.


So, I was just curious what changed.

Like anything else in life the more you seriously practice something the better and quicker you get. Even when you are a master in your field consistent practice and drive will propel give you speed and skill you never thought possible. I only guessing but I think Gail has just gotten quicker and better and is able to handle a larger work load.

I never thought I’d be one of those old guys that would complain about not being able to understand the dialect a member of the younger generation will use to frame his speech and yet I have no idea what the hell Sonic just said. :confused:

Having good editors helps, but mainly I'm just a lot more serious about my writing now, and spend a lot of every single day on it.

Plus you had the basic plot for Tranquility down a few years ago, right?

And that the new Atom book came with some direction already attached? (Grant Morrison is brainstorming the revamps, right?)

I imagine plotting four books is the hard part and with all of these, you have some pretty well cemented ideas of where to start and/or where to go.

I mean, you have the voice of the BoP characters down. The Secret Six characters are ones you've put a lot of thought into. Tranquility is something you've had time to think about. Gen 13 is something you've had lead time on. The Atom has some provisos in place that shape your take on it.

Is that a fair assessment?

Future Gail actually wrote these comics about fifteen years from now and sent them to Present Gail in the way-back machine, in order to cash in now. That's the only way that she can post on here with us every day.

Well, it's actually not her that's posting with us all the time, usually it's Post-Pre-Crisis Mongol Warrior Gail.
