I'd like some spoken word album recommendations. Post if you've got em', thanks. I can't recall the name but I remember listening to a William Shatner spoken word album from a while back. My interest sparks up from time to time.

I've listened to some of the Jello Biafra spoken word albums. "No More Coccons," "High Priest of Harmful Matter" and "I Blow People's Minds for a Living." These are highly entertaining if you want that ultra-liberal, punk rock "fuck you" attitude. His voice can get a little irritating after a while, but the content is quite thought provoking.

Here are some suggestions:

If you like a hip hop poetry vibe, I'd suggest Flippin' The Script: Rap Meets Poetry (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000003ZVL/qid=1142873437/sr=1-4/ref=sr_1_4/002-0579389-4499227?s=music&v=glance&n=5174). It's got great stuff from Sonja Sohn, Sekou Sundiata and Willie Perdomo (and a really, really funny thing from Everton Sylvester). Also, check out some Saul Williams stuff.

You may also like Henry Rollins's spoken word stuff if you like the Biafra stuff Lubichev mentioend.

There's a lot of beat generation CDs out there, too--you can find all kinds of stuff from Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti and others.

Very nice. These'll keep me busy for a while. Thanks.

For anybody interested, the William Shatner album I couldn't remember last night is called "Has been".
