This is the second thing I've computer coloured, but there's been a fair bit of trial and error along the way.

The picture is by Ed Benes, I found the inks on a webpage somewhere. I guess it sorta caught my eye...

There's a few things I really should fix up, but I'd rather start another one than spend hours on this one.

This has been scaled to 60% and jpegged (a decent png was too big for photobucket).

Any comments?

If you're curious, this is the first thing I coloured:

Though I did them quite differently. The spider woman one is done almost exlcusively with gradients, the Red monika one I barely used gradients at all...

Edit: Sigh, no-one cares...

Wow, very nice. What art program do you use on your computer for this? (just curious)

I can see why she caught your eye. ;)

Just photoshop.

The original Inks I used are here (http://www.comicartcommunity.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=16140&mode=search), by the way.

I think you're off to a damn good start. You're obviously paying attention to light sources, and noticing that different surfaces reflect light in different ways.

I also think the second one you did is leagues ahead of the Spider-Woman one. About the only thing that'd lose you points if this were a professional submission is that Red Monika doesn't have blonde hair.

Yeah, I changed the neck area on the spider woman one too. I figure I can change em up a bit since I'm just doing them for practise. Cheers for the positive comments...

Here's one I did really quickly this afternoon. I tried using the magnetic lasso to automatically select the edges. It didn't work too well, and there's a few bits that I could clean up, but I can't really be bothered.

The pencils/inks are by Alex Lei, I got them from here (http://www.comicartcommunity.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=15290)

Anyone got an inked image they want me to have a go at colouring? I wanna try something with a background...

Me! Me! Me! I was thinking of PM'ing you and asking if you'd color one of my pencil pieces. (I can't color worth crap)

Dude, I loved your Red Monika so much, I saved a copy of her to my computer. She is truely awesome. You're coloring has gotten so good in such a short amount of time. :)
