Characters, Part I: The Authors
Welcome to the big fat Mugen Guide. As I promised, this will be the thread for clarifying plot and character points of the fanfic.
Let's start with the so-far most mysterious of the characters I have introduced: the Authors. As you can guess, these are parodies of actual authors of several works of fiction. Their role in the story should be kind of nebulous: except for Nabeshin and Smith (AKA Silent Bob) most of them would be behind the scenes players, rarely showing themselves to other characters. I think we shouldn't overexpose them, since they have too much of a tendence to become walking plot devices. So, unless a plot device is really needed, I'll keep them out of the main picture.
Authors, except for Koshi Rikdo, are never identified by their full names, mostly to avoid us lawsuits :D . They talk to each other using only their last names. They sometimes claim to be the real creators of the Omniverse, but they rarely show any real power themselves, prefering to relying on hired help. Silent Bob and Nabeshin are exceptions, choosing to use their gifts in the Tournament, and as such, they are pursued by the other Authors as renegades.
The Council of Authors really wants to regain full control over the story. They feel the MUGEN story has slipped out of their control, and they are puzzled as to why. Sometimes, their actions can seem 'evil' to the rest of the characters, and sometimes they can look like they are in the side of 'good'. But as a matter of fact, they only care about taking the story along the way they would wish it to be.
They try to remove certain players out of the picture and manipulate certain events to their liking, through the Mercenary Team (B.B. Hood, Naga the Serpent, Deathstroke the Terminator and Deadpool), the Special Assault and Rescue Team (Mongul, Mr. Hyde, Clark Steele, Ralph Jones, Leona Heidern, Miroku and Misaki Matsuya), and the not introduced yet Black Ops Team (Gerhard Von Faust, Tiger, Panther, Luchs, Sango, the Invisible Man and Captain Cold). Regardless, for one reason or another, most of their attempts fail miserably.
Other than Silent Bob and Nabeshin, the most seen members of the Authors include the stoic, enigmatic Moore (based on an Alex Ross image of Alan Moore as a giant, ghostly floating head surrounded by his creations in a Wizard Magazine, actually), the polite, sometimes cold and distant Takahashi (taken from a Rumiko Takahashi mini-manga about her own work as a mangaka), and the dumb as bricks Koshi Rikdo, often retaking his Excel Saga role of introducing episodes along with Nabeshin and others. Some other Council Members who will cameo through the story are 'Byrne', 'Miller', 'Claremont', 'The Man Lee', 'Okuda' (based on Hitoshi Okuda, author of the Tenchi manga), 'Kanzaka' (based on the author of the Slayers novels), 'Akamatsu', the Dr. Slump-esque 'Toriyama', 'Takeuchi' (Naoko Takeuchi, author of Sailor Moon, in her usual selfdepiction as a SD bunny), and the CLAMP Animal-Eared squad.
Despite their apparently important role, they won't be a big influence in the story's course. They won't even be able to make a big difference in the final conflict, which will make them to realize they truly have lost all control over their so-called 'fictional world'.

(I was actually writing one scene where Miyazaki, Clevinger (Brian Clevinger, creator of 8-Bit Theatre) and Miller are also mentioned, but I'll leave all Author-related stuff to you instead, OM (except where Silent Bob is concerned, that is).
BTW, will you require the rest of us to post profiles of our own characters?

Team Skuld.
When I first had the idea of doing a fanfiction out of the original 'Anime Cast for a Fighting Game' thread, I had no idea about if others would want to participate or not (Thanks for all the input, by the way). So, at first I had been prepared to do it alone if I needed. And my original draft was, although much more comedy based, pretty much based on a dramatic concept: innocent, anxious youth in a deadly run against twisted, cynical maturity.
Skuld vs. the Joker.
In a suicide run to see who gets to Belldandy first, the one willing to save her at all costs, or the one wishing to destroy her and prove a point: that Belldandy's view on life is 'wrong', and his own viewpoint is 'right'.
In a way, my main plotline still is that. Of all the characters I'm playing, Skuld and the Joker are the two main focus of my attention and planning. That's why I'll start with Team Skuld and Team Nifelheim.
This should be pretty much a story of coming of age for Skuld, and her growing pains. From a pretty pampered, even spoiled, child, the youngest of her family, emotional and unstable, she is put through the wringer, forcing her to grow up or die and seeing her sisters to die. She gets faced with a lot of things she hasn't been able to handle well before... her whole world is thrown into doubt. She also has to reevaluate a lot of things: most especially about her vision of the world, and her view of her family. And she eventually has to choose what does she want for herself, and for Belldandy, in the long run.
Beenuel had just a small interaction with Skuld at the end of Crisis on Infinite Threads, which, in a way, gave me the idea for his involvement here, although these are two totally separated continuities. I think I handled Beenuel a bit better in Crisis than here, actually. In Crisis, perhaps because of his interaction with Ryouga, he came closer to be portrayed as the idea I really have of him in my mind: a very minor god, trying to do his best, but over his head at all times. Another thing I think I made better in Crisis was to convey the sensation of Beenuel not being, actually, too smart... he isn't dumb per se, but as a hermit, and someone with a very primal in a way mind, he doesn't really have many experiences at dealing with others, and can even be a bit naive at times. He is the kind of person better at dealing with small problems than big ones, both in terms of power and mindset.
Dr. Occult is a favorite of mine, and sadly, in the comics, a very underrated character. As a mystic, his main trait might be, actually, he has the character ability to stay overlooked, being a character-wise pretty plain, average man... certainly a far cry from the more attention-calling, but also more callous and jerkish John Constantine.
Finally, Nakoruru, despite not having a very big role, should be the girl Beenuel wishes Skuld could be. She is polite, quiet and dedicated to her spirituality, while Skuld is sometimes rash, hotheaded and much more of material person than you'd expect in a goddess, even a young one. Nakoruru also is in communion with nature and animals, Beenuel's own element. She and Beenuel certainly get along much better than Beenuel and his own apprentice.

How is the scene like? I would have no problems with it as long as it's well written and doesn't contradict anything previously written.
As for the other point, I'm not forcing anyone to do anything, but you sure can post profiles here if you want.

Team Nifelheim.
One of the first things that came to my mind when I was thinking of ideas for this series at the first stage of the creative proccess was the image of Emperor Joker cackling his loud, insane laughter as he broke through the gates of Heaven, and then facing the Unsealed Belldandy, power flowing between both of them, making Heavens to tremble.
Because you couldn't find two more different characters if you tried. It was a clash of absolute opposites, and I just had to try it.
The Joker, through the Modern Age of comics, has always had a knack for running into plot devices. Maybe because, to comics writers, there should be few scarier things than giving means of awesome power to a batsh*t murdeous clown. What if, I told myself, I try to give some rational to that? Why does that happen so often, not counting PIS? So was born my idea of 'Joker as a sort of cosmical chosen', which I admit even I find kind of hard to swallow at times, but actually has some basis in comics history. From him winning the powers of Greek Gods in the pages of Wonder Woman to him having his hands on the Mask, the Worglogg, etc., it almost sounded as if it was his fate to wield cosmic powers at some crucial point... Which is one of the worst things any sort of god could do to the universe, picking him as a 'Chosen One', but that gave me a new spin: a 'Chosen One' who is, for once, just straight out fuggin' wicked instead of the Hero of the Story. Add to that the fact, an unpredictable Goddess of Chaos could be, indeed, attracted to his pure chaotic personality enough to... And... geez, this sounds really awkward when you try to explain it this way.
Ah, what the heck, I told myself, I'll just build to it because killer clowns storming through the Valkyries rule. So, here I am trying to carry on that plot to a good end.
Mara, I actually find her to be one of the easier characters in the story to write. I often struggle with some characters' dialogues, but I never have a problem writing Hild's right hand woman. I also find her relationships with others the most entertaining to write: Urd, old close friend turned enemy; Hild, feared boss; Goenitz, despised immediate superior; Bell, tolerated child under her reluctant care; Joker, they just hate each other's guts.
Bell is going to be faced soon with the real face of evil and its consequences, I think. The thing is, from what has been shown of her in PPGD so far, she seems to have been raised in an ambient of so much darkness, with evil ruling as the norm, and yet, she also has been raised as a mostly proper and beloved child. She certainly can love others a lot, as evidenced by her relationships with Mandark and GIR. She is, in a way, an enigma, maybe even to herself, but later on, when faced with things even her father would be repulsed by, she will have to choose which path must she take, and who does she really want to be: the merciless fighter of her warrior moments, the loyal servant, or something else.
As for Goenitz, I took his motivation and role from M203's entry of him in Anime Cast. The thing to consider is, he thinks Orochi failed to live to his expectations. The God of Destruction he had devoted his life and work to had let him down. He basically died for nothing. When Hild brought him back, he found someone who more than took Orochi's place in his eyes. He is much more loyal even than Mara (of course, Joker is as disrespectful of Hild as he can, and Bell obeys Hild only because Dr. X told her so), to the point of fanatism.
I have come to really like this ragtag bunch. But of course, don't expect their eventual disolution to be a very happy one.

On second thought, forget the scene -- I don't even have it mentally planned out anyway.
I'll probably post something on the backgrounds of Vellinor, Anzell and Zarabeth sometime in the future on this thread.

Okay, this is just too good to miss. I'll make a few entries of my own:
Alaniel:
Basically, he first showed up in Crisis, but wound up playing the errand boy despite the potential he had (in both power and character). Crisis was just... well, I'll leave it at that. Flogging a dead horse isn't fun.
So when Mugen came along, I thought it would be fun to get him in the running again.
You see, Alaniel was meant to be the "ultimate evolution" of one of my YvtW characters, who indeed is half-human, half-angel. I planned to make him a big player in the series. Yet I realised that if I used the YvtW timeline Alaniel, he'd ultimately become too powerful and had too complex a backstory to fit into the timeline.
So I decided on an "alternate" who had the same origins (parents) but diverged from the very start. As such, he's just an angel who's linked to the human world through the memory of his childhood. He sees life as too precious to waste by petty squabbles, even those of the Celestial Plane, most likely because of the good moral upbringing by his (mortal) father. In his youth, he was mentored by the Archangel Michael, who had very similar ideas about humanity and its role in the universe. You can imagine how devastated he was by the death of Michael (as it happened in the Vertigo universe). What makes things worse is the fact that Lucifer, Michaelangelo's wayward brother, is now his superior. Lucifer's ego cold personality and Alaniel's boy-scout personna simply rub each other the wrong way. Ironically, Lucifer is closer to Alaniel in spirit because both don't like the way some gods place themselves as above everyone else.
Relations with other beings; Belldandy is one whom Alaniel feels is the one who best understands him since she too is against the destruction of the mortal realm. Orochi is one God he hates like poison, even though he never actually goes out and says it - simply because the goals of Orochi are the elimination of the human race should it ever get out of control, something Alaniel is violently opposed to. Mara and Hild - need I even say it?
His position on the tournament is clear: there is no need for a reset and the sensless destruction necessary for it to happen. Another reason for his actions he doesn't say to anyone; the Gods aren't any better than what they created, so why should they complain about how it turned out? (You can imagine how that can get him in trouble)

And now, on to my teams!
Team Hero:
Okay, this is pretty straightforward. The four chosen - Spider-Man, Ryu, Ranma Saotome and Kyo Kusanagi - have several important things in common; they are all heroes of their own worlds. And all of them never know when to quit, either out of sheer determination or fighting spirit. And that's why I chose them; I have the feeling that they've got what it takes to win, even in the face of superior strength. Whatever happens, my money is on these guys to go the distance. Who know? Maybe they'll actually win the tournament!
None of them need any introduction, but here's the roll call anyways.
Spider-Man is the wise-cracking, ever-popular street hero from Marvel, and become extremely iconic in the sense that he reintroduced the concept of the struggling Joe Average to the Superhero genre, which hitherto had been dominated by superhumans who only masqueraded as human to cover their identities. Originally, Clark Kent was just Superman in disguise, just as Bruce Wayne is the front for Batman, but Peter Parker *is* the man behind the Spider-Man's mask. He's the common person trying to cope not only with the mundane problems of life, but the bigger-than-life problems of superheroics. And he doesn't always win.
Which is why I considered it a capital crime if he didn't show up in Mugen. Marvel just isn't Marvel without Spider-Man, so anywhere Marvel went, Spidey just had to tag along.
Considered the comedian and the heart of the team, Spidey still has to respond from time to time to Kyo's pranks with his flames. So far, he's had no major problems with his team.
Ranma Saotome, while considered socially inept and usually with his foot in his mouth, is the powerhouse of the team with his higher-end abilities. He still doesn't like the whole curse thing, and he hopes that the wish he gets will remove it. Unfortunately, he was more than slightly shaken by the discovery that his love interests (Akane, Shan Pu, and Ucchan) have all been turned to vampires by Demitri, and he's sworn to keep fighting in the tournament until he finds a way to cure them. Despite his annoying behaviour and lack of social skills, he's still a decent guy; he just has to give up some of his pride to understand the others.
Kyo Kusanagi is the legend of the King of Fighters Tournaments. Hailing from the Kusanagi dojo, Kusanagi is a lazy student even though he has great potential. However, he's still a hard worker when properly motivated, such as when the things he cares for are in danger, such as his friends, family, and his girlfriend Yuki, who is descended from the Kushinada(*) of old. Since his history makes him the center of the KoF universe a lot of the time, he just had to be on Team Heroes.
Ryu, the mysterious nomad who cares for nothing but the fight, is from the SFIII timeline. By now he is considered an accomplished master of his style (Ama-whatever). His determination to be the best and his concentration in battle made him a necessary addition to this team, even though there admittedly would have been better additions.
Shingo Yabuki, strangely enough, is a 'reserve' member of the team, there only by incessant pleading by himself and by Yuki, who took pity on him. However, like the rest of the team, he has the heart - if not necessarily the power - to give it all he has. He is Kyo's student only in the sense that he observed Kyo in battle, and despite the lack of any actual training, has mimicked most of Kyo's skills pretty well to be an actual adversary. In that sense, he is far superior to Dan (whose skills make a mockery of Ryu's abnd Ken's), and is actually aware of his shortcomings and works to improve himself. Sometimes he plays the fool (and quite unwittingly too).
(*) Kushinada, according to the KoF timeline, are virgins who were sacrificed to Orochi in order to enable him to use his full power to annihilate the humans. In the story, only 7 of the 8 virgins were sacrificed, the 8th got away thanks to the interference of the families of Yasakani (now Yagami), Kusanagi, and Yata (Kagura, the ancestors of Chizuru Kagura) who used their Sacred Treasures (Necklace of Yasakani, Sword of Kusanagi, Mirror of Yata) to seal away the God of Destruction.

Team Darkness:
In response to OM's Sacred Treasures Team (Chuizuru Kagura, Rose, Kikiyo, and Sailor Pluto) and others, I decided to bring in a Boss Team worthy enough of the games.
M. Bison (Vega in the Japanese version) was the necessary counterpart to Rose. Looking back, I wondered why I didn't bring in Naraku since Kikiyo was there, but that would have meant making the team the antithesis to Team Sacred Treasures, and that would have spoiled the meaning to it. Bison is an evil SOB who was perfectly willing to ruin thousands of peoples' lives just to prove a point. As the incarnation of evil in the SF-verse (Gill and Urien aren't exactly 'evil', just amoral at times), he has his fingers in every pie in the Underworld, from drug-smuggling to black market arms deals, assassinations, and blackmail. A major event like Mugen - a chance to become God - is not to be missed.
Lord Jedah Dohma hails from the Darkstalkers games, an S-Class(*) Makai Demon and a power in his own right. He believes that to end all suffering, it is his right to reshape the universe in his image. He appears slightly insane, but that does not detract from the threat he poses. He was only second to the Makai Lord Belial in terms of power. As a being of divine might (the Makai are said to have descended from the remains of the being that created the Universe in its dying throes), he has learned of the Mugen tournament, and has decided to form his own team and snag the prize. He has contacted Bison and gotten him the means necessary to ressurect both Sephiroth and Justice. To him, though, the team is just a means to an end. It doesn't bother the rest, though; they're not exactly the servants type.
Justice is a bit of an unknown to anyone who hasn't played Guilty Gear (e.g. myself). Yet she was created as a Gear, a mighty weapon of war capable of levelling cities on her own and infused with the long-forgotten power of magic. She was also given the ability to command and control nearby Gears. After her death after her second battle with Sol Badguy, her spirit was retreived from the afterlife by Jedah, and her body recreated by Shadaloo scientists and geneticists with Jedah's help. She is a stubborn and free-spirited being who serves no-one, but has agreed to help Jedah and Bison as she had no other choice.
Sephiroth is one of the most famous characters in video game history, and needs no introduction. Needless to say, he is still on his quest to become God, yet now also seeks revenge on the one man who beat him not once but twice - Cloud Strife. His spirit was taken from the Lifestream by Jedah's manipulations, and his body was cloned by Shadaloo scientists as well. Seeing a chance to acheive both aims, he has agreed to join Jedah's team.
Team Vengeance:
This was a joint effort with OM, as I needed a team with grudges against everyone (or at least 4 other teams). As such, I chose Iori Yagami, Forte/Bass, Negaduck and MK Scorpion.
Iori Yagami is the darkness to the 'light' of Kyo Kusanagi; everywhere Kyo goes, Iori chases after him, hell-bent on defeating him. Iori's motives have little to do with the 600-year feud between the Yagamis and the Kusanagis; he just wants to prove who's best. His Orochi blood has often made him a target for many in their quest for power, and it is as much a curse as a source of power for him, for he will never live beyond his thirties. As incredible as it sounds, though, he has often cooperated with Kyo in order to defeat the threat of the Orochi, but usually for his own purposes; he seeks to free himself of Orochi's command, as he is too proud to serve anyone, even the source of his power. After Kyo's disappearance (i.e. when Kyo went to Mugen), he was violently depressed, as the meaning to his life disappeared. With the offer of Team Vendetta, however, he feels that his purpose - the defeat of Kyo - has returned. He is considered the 'enemy' of the Heroes Team (Kyo, Ryu, Spider-Man, Ranma)
Forte is from the Megaman series, Dr. Wily's counter to Dr. Light's Rockman. An arrogant Robot Master, he seeks only the destruction of Mega Man to prove who is the most powerful Robot of all. Even though he possesses power greater than Rock, it was Rock's skill and persistence that beat him time and again. Originally unwilling to join the tournament, he immediately signed up once he found out MegaMan was going to be there. He is the 'enemy' of the Robots Team (Nuku Nuku, Lime, Mega Man, Astro Boy).
Scorpion is one spirit that has not yet found rest, his desire for revenge burning as hot as ever. He still believes that Sub-Zero is the one who killed him and his family, and will keep coming from the depths of Hell until his thirst for vengeance is quenched. Neron has found that useful, and decided to hire him on the Vendetta team. His 'enemies' are Team Ninja (Sub-Zero II, Psylocke, Shinobi, Strider Hiryu).
Negaduck may seem as the odd one in this team, being a Toon character. Yet like the rest, he was chosen due to his connection to DarkWing Duck, avenger of St. Canard. His 'enemies' are Team Justice (Flonne, Amelia, Kim Kap Hwan, DarkWing Duck).
It would be easy to forsee Yagami turning on his teammates again; he nearly killed his teammates, Eiji Kisaragi and Billy Kane, in 1995, and actually did kill Vice and Mature in 1996, and there's reason to believe he turned on his team in 2001. However, this time, his teammates are ready to turn on him as well, should he prove a menace. In any case, Neron chose Yagami for this team as a counter to both Kyo Kusanagi and to Orochi. And Neron is not one to let a perfectly good investment go to waste.
Team Malebolgia:
This team was set in a tone similar to Team Vendetta, as everyone on the team had a score to be settles with someone else on another team. It was also a joint venture with OM. The Vendetta Team had 7 possible entries, but that was too big, so we split it in two. The rest became Team Malebolgia with the addition of Violator.
Venom is Spider-Man's nemesis, his sworn enemy. The reason I didn't pick any of the Goblins was because they just didn't fit the spirit of the tournament. Venom is a more hands-on type of person, which fits a fighting team. He's based on current continuity, where he's just another bad guy with a score to settle with Spidey. He is the 'counter' to Team Heroes (Spider-Man, Ryu, Ranma, Kyo).
Sabretooth is Wolverine's prime enemy, and it's no secret there's a lot of bad blood between them. I'd say he's from the current continuity, without the adamantium, but since when did he ever need it? He is the 'counter' for Team Nabeshin (Wolverine, Mars People, Nabeshin, and forgot the fourth one).
Ash Crimson is a power-hungry young man from the recent KoF storyline, who has already stolen the power of Chizuru Kagura and left her hospitalised. He seeks to take both the powers (and treasures) of Kyo Kusanagi and Iori to complete his "powers collection", and gain control of Orochi with the combined powers of Yagami, Kusanagi, and Yata. It would figure that he would be a nice addition to this team. He was also chosen due to his theft of Kagura's powers, thus his connection to Orochi, which is coveted by many in the grand scheme of things. His 'enemies' are the Shin Sacred Treasures Team (Chizuru, Kikiyo, Pluto, and Rose).
Violator is a petty-minded demon who hails from the Spawn comics, and is the implacable enemy of Spawn. He was hired by his boss, Malebolgia, Lord of McFarlane-verse Hell, to field a team in the tournament. He is the enemy of Team Light and Darkness (Spawn, Batman, Venus, and Dexter).
(*)- The Darkstalkers Classification runs a little differently than the Yu Yu Hakusho universe. A-Class Darkstalkers, like Demitri Maximoff of Team Vampires, can destroy earth-sized planets. Pyron was an A-Class who regularly melted planets to add to his "collections". Merged Morrigan is an S-Class, just a notch under Jedah, who is also an S-Class. The most powerful Darkstalker was Belial, Morrigan's father, an S+ Class. He could blow up the Solar System, and had a 50-50 chance of defeating and killing Super Buu. Hell, the warning shot he gave Demitri nearly killed the vampire.

Team Fanfiction aka Team FanWarriors
This team was basically a composite of characters I had made in the past, when I was in middle school. The first character I had created was Jack, although he was smaller and had dark, almost generic, hair. Then, I made Dorado, an eccentric goof. I made a father for Dorado called Mel. Mel was a composite of the Doug Sheenan-version of Mel Horowitz from "Clueless", and, thus, his first name. Mel was also a lawyer, but only honest. Of course, Mel was constantly irritated at people.
The universe I had made consisted of Jack, and two brothers named Mike and Barry. Mike was, without a doubt, the WORST character I had ever came up with. Eventually, after two years of giving birth to the character, I stopped using him in my projects. Mike was hard to draw and was confusing. Barry was easier. A small kid, who now looks like pre-Mugen/MyAdventureGame.com Jack, Barry is very capable. Other characters included Homer Simpson and (to a minor role, for now she'd be a main character. The thing is, I have more liking to her now then I did 5 years ago when the thing started) Mimi Tachikawa.
I called the original universe (don't laugh) "Downtown Goofball U.S.A.". And, yes, the town was named (don't laugh again) Goofball.
Eventually I ended the Goofball chronicles by getting Jack and the gang, sans a few, onto a ship for a voyage when the ship capsized and the group set foot on "Sun Island". In the original universe, Jack and Dorado (called "Klap") befriend Tiff.
Returning home, they settle in a town called "San Juancinto". And that is where a new universe converged.
For a project in the 8th Grade, I needed to write a story that had a beginning, rising actions, climax, and a resolution. It was called "The Flood of San Juancinto". Much like I had less attention to Mimi back then, I had MORE attention to Hank Hill (instead of hating his guts now). The story consisted of a lampoon of "Apres Hank; Le Deluge", but with several modifications. Most of the original group had survived, but some didn't. Among those, Mike and a few more characters. Tiff was called "Tiffany", and several characters, like Mimi and Peter Griffin, were casted aside... for the moment.
A second novel was made. And soon, I created a second universe.
Cut aside about a year and a half ago, and a third one, the current one which is mostly related to Mugen was forged. On the website, MyAdventureGame.com, I created a text-based game called "What REALLY Goes On In Area 51". The story consisted of Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, and Al Bundy getting loaded in Las Vegas and crashing to the secret base. They meet Felix from the "Golden Sun" series of games. Dorado was added to the universe first, as a skilled fighter. Eventually, Dorado became purely comedy. Tiffany Stallwall (actually, "Stallwall" was added later) was the "Good" embodiment of Tiff, for there was a race of misfits called "Spazoids", and lo and behold, Tiff was one of them.
Jack was introduced two games later, and that was also where the Jack/Seto Kaiba rivalry was formed. Finally, Melvin Kompson was the last one to be added. Also added in the game were several Adepts, Bucky B. Katt, Calvin & Hobbes, Dilbert, Michael J. Nelson, Mr. T, and Mimi.
Uckman was from a story called "The Super Homer Saga". In it, Uckman was a cat created by forces in an ancient civilization to stop the Nazgul. His power supply consisted of cans of cat food. Uck wasn't added until I started a new chapter.
By adding them, I will fulfill the MAG universe and seal their fates.

Alright, here's the rest ot the cast from my end:
Forces of Heaven:
Essential to the plot, but who will not be taking part in the Tournament proper, these are the boys and girls topside who will be used to show the other side of Armeggeddon, I hope for them to express that "the end of the world" also means they lose somthing important to them.
Belldandy:
When Kami-Sama, the One-Above All declared the Universal Reboot, the re-creation of the fictional omniverse, Belldandy was torn apart inside; she would lose everything that she had come to love. That was not the only issue however; she had finally seen another side of her Father that she did not know existed, ie. The One Above All's desire to mantain the Status Quo in the macrocosm, ignoring the microcosm.
While all the other Gods and Goddesses in Heaven dared not oppose His plan, Belldandy was the only one who had enough courage to offer up a counter-proposal: allow the beings of the Omniverse to prove that good does triump over evil, and that there was still hope left that the Omniverse was not yet out of control. Her plan was simple: to show her father the good in the hearts of men by engineering their darkest hour, a last gamble that would either work marginally at best or backfire tragically at worst.
In this, I'm hoping to place the character in a situation that she has never before had to face; the "darker" and more purposeful face of her father, the very real real evil that lurks in the hearts of men, and a do-or-die situation without the PIS of the Doublet system to enforce playing nice. In MUGEN, she will need to come to grips with the fact that there isn't a happy ending for everyone, and that no matter how hard she wants to believe in the world she loves, this time, sacrifices will have to be made. And she might need to be the one who makes them, in the form of her beliefs and ideals. I also wanted to take a look at the darker side of the beaurecratic Heaven that is portrayed in the O!MG anime and manga, and MUGEN seemed like the place to do it.
The Spectre, The Endless and the Living Tribunal:
We've seen these characters as the Uber-Cosmics of their multiverses, but what are they like away from work? I wanted to take a look at the more casual side of these beings, when work isn't bothering them, and they have a chance to relax. MUGEN seemes to be the place for this since The Prescence would leave the Ragnarok operation in the hands of the one who originated it, His own daughter, to minimalize the chances of the event being manipulated to ulterior ends. Hence, with the Ominverse slated to be rebooted, they are all on enforced "corporate vacations" until Omniverse 2.0 is loaded, and they have to take up their positions again.
In MUGEN, I want to give these characters a chance to be themselves and not have to worry about the goings on in their respective multiverses, and the singular God necessary to MUGEN presented an excellent chance to explore them in this way.
Lucifer Morningstar:
Lucifer is essentially one of TOAA"s original creations, but in almost every version of him there is mention of The Prescence creating not only him, but others. In MUGEN, I'd want to investigate a side of Lucifer that hasnt been written yet: his relationship to the other members of his "family' besides Michael, namely Urd, Skuld and Belldandy. While canonically he opposes The Prescence, I wanted to continue the character trait in that he will also oppose the wish of The Prescence, Kami-Sama to reboot the Omniverse. I am also interested in expressing how he would react to other family members who are no threat to him at all, whether in power or political/beauracratic position.
The Three Chousein, Tokimi, Tsunami and Washu:
With these three, I'm interested in looking at The Chousein in a behind-the-scenes way, except with their own Creation on the line because of the Omega Initiative. It is canon in Tenci Myuo! that there possibly exists a being greater than them, so much so that they have no way of communicting with it. The scenes where Peorth must speak with Kami-Sama from a rostrum inspired this; no-one knows the true face of Kami-Sama, The One Above All and hence, in MUGEN, The Chousein must now come to grips that they are part of a much larger picture.
Azathoth, the Lovecraftian Dieties and L-Sama, the Lord of Nightmares:
In MUGEN, along with Kami-Sama, the One Above All/The eternal Prescence, Azathoth and L-Sama make up the Trimurvirate of Heaven, the three greatest beings in the Omniverse. While the One Above All/Kami-Sama represents purposeful action, L-Sama represents the chaos on any form of order, and the alternate propabilites that may occur. Azathoth embodies, rightfully so, inaction, and the consequences of it. They head the Council of Heaven, and all other dieties answer to them. They are led by Kami-Sama, the force of proactive Creation, and their purpose is to mantain the Celestial Order with the elements that they embody at the very highest levels.
Nudoru, Miso, Kansai, Tiki and Kadachi: The Illegal Immigrants of Creation. :D
With these five I want to take another direction in the cateogry of "uber-omnipotents," such as L-Sama, TOAA and Azathoth. I'm interested in investigating the need to belong and the very human elements of discovery and curiosity, as well as the repurcussions of ignorance, which comes across too often as stupidity because we tend to take most things at face value. In MUGEN, they represent, if you will, the big-city Tycoon moving to the countryside of his own free will to find out who he really is. Readily enough, the theme with the NODES is that "everything in the world, buy ye yet nothing at all." As with the big-city tycoon[here relatively infinite wealth is replaced by the fictional currency of power] the NODES and their companions, except Tiki anyway, possess power dwarfing that of the complete Council and the Trimurvirate of Heaven. However, as with the big-city tycoon, all that money means nothing because he doesn't know the rules and social ettiquite of the town in which he has chosen to live. His money has brought him there, but yet he is not accepted as one of their own, simply because he is out of place and more often important than his appearance, he does not understand the depth of concern that people are able to feel towards each other. In other words, the tycoon must learn to think small, and to think deep.
And, as with the Tycoon who has been on the cover of TIMES and other publications, the NODES are assumed to be somthing they are not; multiple-reality and multiple-Omniverse level destroyers, or "God-Killers," in very much the same way that public figures are judged by what the press writes about them. Although they might have the capacity for it, I'm more interested in investigating the experiences of a new neighbour from the neighbour's point of view, and not the town's rather than posting up stupid feats.
Add to the fact that they have reversed jobber auras, inverted character shields and permenantly inverted PIS, CIS and reversed SMvsFL to go with truly unlimited power, we have a recipe for comedy to go with their exploits, and hence, a new look at the "uber-omnipotent" category of fiction. As in, what happens...when ultimate power can't save you from being shot in the balls? Self-destruction will never be more retarded. :D :D
Motives:
Nudoru and Miso just want to be accepted into TOAA's creation, and are willling to give up everything they have in order to do it. Even if it means becoming mortal, or having to serve Heaven in any capacity. They're pretty desperate about it too, because all they do in their own Verse is chill out, do stuff and die in retarded ways multiple times a day. Unfortunately, they have come in the time of MUGEN, the only time when their manifestaion will not tear the fictional omniverse apart because of all that extracontinual. multiplanar mass. So it's not going to be as easy as submitting an application and making a few phone calls to immigration. Nudoru and Miso represent the open-minded big-city dweller, who is willing to adapt and learn in the country life.
Kansai, Kadachi and TIki are the opposite; they're the flashy billionaires from the big city who believe that throwing money around is the answer to everything. But, country folk have their ways with city dwellers. :D

Now that I got my original cast down, let me explain my other team, the DigiDestined.
Team DigiDestined
This is, basically, the original eight characters from the anime "Digimon". These characters are in their Season 1 forms. Allow me to explain how they had worked.
Seven kids were at summer camp (an eighth would have come, but she was sick). The kids were Taichi Kamiya, Matt Ishida, T.K. Ishida, Sora Takenouchi, Joe Kido, Mimi Tachikawa, and Izzy Kotuiski. As soon as a snowfall took form (Tai explained that the world had gone bizarre over the last few months). Several devices popped out and then the kids were sent to File Island. There, they had met several Digital Monsters and the group spent time searching for a way home. Along the way, they realized there were others just like theirs, only some were being exposed to a strange device called "Black Gears".
A battle with Devimon leads the kids to meeting with a wise person who lives in the realm. With that, they manage to leave File Island and enter a new continent. With a fight against Etemon leading Tai to return back to Earth briefly, the others were seperated, but eventually reunited. It also showed that time differed between the two realms (an minute on Earth is the same as a day in the Digital World), so while Tai was gone for two hours, two months passed.
Using Myotismon's gate, the DigiDestined return back to Earth where it was being attacked by Myotismon's cronies. Soon, the kids learned of the eighth DigiDestined, Hikari Kamiya, and defeated Myotismon with Mega Digimon. Returning to the Digital World, they had to face the Dark Masters while handling their own fears and thoughts. That lead to a final battle with Apocolymon, the source of the Dark Masters. Upon defeating him, the kids returned to Earth, sans their Digimon, but hoped they would meet them again.
The characters are, simply, as followed:
Tai- The leader of the group. Very athletic.
Matt- The loner of the group. He usually keeps to himself.
Sora- A tomboy type of girl. Like Tai, she is athletic. She also acts as a figure to Kari, T.K., and Mimi
Izzy- The computer whiz.
Mimi- The girlish one. Althoug ditzy and not in reality, is the most caring
T.K.- A little kid, who enjoys video games
Joe- The bookworm. Somewhat paranoid.
Kari- A kind girl.
Their role in the tournament is as follows: They are reunited with their Digimon and enter the tournament as a reunion. However, each member will face their own problems and usually might have to solve them without one another. Mimi will be the first to face this, for in the story she gains a suit that handles many battles, gets into a feud with Cosette Sara, and befriends the Cardcaptor Sakura Kinomoto.
The others will have their own challenges soon. What will happen to them is unknown.

Vellinor
I learned about the Mugen Tournament right after I had finished reading Crisis on Infinite Threads, and, needless to say, I was flattered that my original "Anime Cast for a Fighting Game" thread had been turned into a major freeform RPG. Seeing major villains like Hild, Orochi, Thanos and the Boss plotting in the background of the tournament, I decided to get involved myself and enter an insidious, constantly-plotting villain of my own. And, thankfully, I already had an established character from previous AOD's to use.
Vellinor was created for a RPG-style Warhammer site called The Arena of Rezephua (http://p070.ezboard.com/bthearenaofrezephua) as an NPC (for those interested in looking, Vellinor first appears in "The Arena of Madness" in the Archives section). He was an omnipotent trickster-god character whose role was to constantly annoy everyone around him (particularly the Slann Lord Chilipeppa, ruler of Rezephua and Vellinor's nemesis). I created Vellinor as a god, in part so that he would have power to avoid being obliterated by the Slann's magic, and in part because I took inspiration from other powerful tricksters like Q and Xelloss (admittedly, his does tend to teleport frequently like both of these characters). He was a completely non-canonical character, coming from an entirely different universe from the Warhammer realm (a fact which I felt would make him stand out more). Vellinor is, for all intents and purposes, a smug, sarcastic, immature individual who delights in annoying and playing practical jokes on people. At least, that's how he started out.
As time went on, however, Vellinor's character began to develop further: I wrote up a bit of his past, of his indignation towards Astraedon, the head god of his home realm. Vellinor's personality began to take a darker turn as I revealed his callous attitude towards mortals, his previous attempts to take over the Warhammer world, and his plot to take over Rezephua. At the very best, you could call Vellinor an ambivalent character: he certainly isn't good, and yet he isn't totally evil either (in his mind, anyway -- he justifies his actions as divine right, saying that gods have the absolute right to treat mortals however they want). I revealed that he had been stripped of his previous power and reduced to the level of a mere demigod, and forced to wander the multiverse for centuries, hopping from dimension to dimension and passing the time by playing tricks on anyone (if not everyone) he came across. I also wrote him as being very insidious in his own right, continuously plotting Chilipeppa's downfall and swaying unwiting mortals into serving him, while at the same time, he also had a callous streak, calmly arranging for the deaths of any mortals who stood in his way.
Anyway, I eventually wrote an arena called "The Showdown" in which Vellinor tried to take over Rezephua, with the aid of a number of willing mortal lackeys (including Zarabeth). In the end, Vellinor tried to tap into the power of an interdimensional convergence to amplify his powers and oust Chilipeppa, but this backfired and he was sucked out of the Warhammer realm, left to continue wandering the multiverse playing tricks on people.
For the Mugen Tournament, however, I saw the perfect opportunity for Vellinor to return, and an additional opportunity to further develop Vellinor's back story. And so it is that I have written more about the realm of Evermere, and the incident which caused Vellinor to be banished. As a result, I think I've given Vellinor a vaguely Byronic quality, as he intends to take over Existence not to satisfy his own greed, but so he can get back at Astraedon for kicking him out. And yet, at the same time, he is still a very mischievous character, and he tries to do everything in a rather humorous manner. The fact that he has Kansai as a herald is fortunate to say the least, as this fact allows for countless incidents of Vellinor accidentally killing him.
I should point out, though, that I've written Vellinor at being at his full former level of power, despite the fact that the interdimensional tear previously drained him of most of what little power he had left. This, in part, is so that he won't be horribly outclassed by all the other gods and goddesses revolving around the tournament. Later on, I will reveal that he regained his long-lost power by simply stealing the power of a comedian-god from another dimension, gaining a power referred to as "the Power Comic."
As it is, I'm admittedly impressed by the progress my character has made so far: not only has he gained a powerful God-Killer as a herald, but he's also part of a Triumvirate of himself, Hild and Thanos. Things are looking up already, since I have big plans for him near the end of the series.

The Teams you didn't get to see:
Before I post the profiles of Team Justice and Team Dan, I would like to say a few things about teams I had planned for this story at first, but later chose to scrap.
Team Skuld (original): At first, Team Skuld was going to have a 'PreAdolescent Girl Power' theme to it. I was going to have Skuld recruiting B.B. Hood, Cosette and May from Guilty Gear as her teammates. But later, I chose to surround Skuld with more mature minded teammates to better develop her character growth.
Team Water: At first, I also was going to have a God of Water gathering Miz Mishtal, the Liquidator, Hydro-Man and Umi Ryuuzaki from Magic Knight Rayearth as his water-based team. I also thought about Aquaman for a while. But ultimately this team proved to be too based on a gimmick for my taste, and really, having them all together made each other kinda redundant.
Team Saviors from Space (original): At first, this team was going to be born of Ayeka and Ryoko deciding to team up. They would agree on each one of them picking one teammate of their liking to complete the four needed fighters. The proper Ayeka would choose the civic minded Superman, while the wilder Ryoko would convince Lobo to join her. Now, those four together could be a surefire ticket to disaster, tournament or not... :D
Team Dark Justice: Originally scheduled as one of the Authors' teams, and intended to be Team Justice's dark counterpart. They would have been the Batman from the Dark Knight Returns future, the Punisher, DarkWarrior Duck and Judge Dredd. I scrapped the idea after realizing these guys just couldn't work together as a team or more than five minutes no matter how I tried.

While Team hero is pretty much my hands-down favorite, it just wouldn't be fair to leave out the others.
Team Swordsman:
So many choices, so little space for all of them. I mean, seriusly, what anime didn't have a Swordsman in it?
Roronoa Zorro was chosen simply for his skill and the extreme lack of One Piece characters in this tourney. Samurai Jack was chosen simply because of his legendary status in fandom. I originally didn't intend for him to be connected to Bleedman's fan-doujinshi, but apparently, with the PPG *AND* Dexter involved, I guess it was pretty much a no-brainer, so I let it be.
Crono (or Chrono, since it's possible that his name was meant to be more than 5 letters) and Cloud were grey areas. I had wanted to put Gourry Gabriev in the group, but I felt that with Lina, Naga, and Amelia, there was more than enough Slayers. And GD's FF team was not yet formed, so I wanted some justice for both. A major influence for choosing the Squaresoft swordsmen was a) my massive fondness for Chrono Trigger and b) I had watched Advent Children recently, and Cloud was crazy strong in that one.
I had not heard of Deeper Eyes Kyo until about a few months ago, and even when so, when I tried to form my teams, Demon Eyes Kyo was already taken, which left me little choice but to look for replacements.
So it happened that Crono and Cloud won over all possible entries. Ironically, as much Kenshin as I watched, I completely forgotten about him.
Team Ninja:
Seriously, name me one fighting game that didn't have a ninja in it. So Mugen had to have ninjas - and since it was all about teams, I decided on a Ninja Team.
Sub-Zero was the starting choice. After that, there was no question of putting either Scorpion (who hates him like Hell) or Reptile (due to his traitorous nature) in the same team as him. The Virtua Fighter, Tekken, and Dead or Alive Ninjas would just be dead weight, what with an ice-powered ninja on their team and the massive array of metas they'll face sooner or later.
So I came up with video game ninjas; Strider Hiryu and Shinobi. Looking back, it would have been wiser to choose Hattori Hanzou over Shinobi, as I have a pretty good knowledge of Hanzou's powers as opposed to the recent Shinobi games.
Psylocke was pretty much the "gender equaliser" in a sense; she was the only female ninja in the group. And Mai Shiranui was definately not a good choice, considering her serious-as-hell teammates.
And to be honest, I liked Team Ninja. Too bad they had to run into Batman and co.
Team Reluctant Heroes:
A ragtag bunch, true. And to be honest, I made up that team solely for the purpose of placing all the players I wanted to join in (Naruto, Goku, Kenshin) but didn't have place on my other teams.
Ben Grimm came up as a last-place choice. True, there were those more powerful than he, but Ben is the heart of the team. He's one guy who didn't want to get dragged into messes like this, but you can be sure that he'll give it 200%. And he always walks out with the respect of adversaries and allies alike.
Goku is one who was mentioned for the Anime Cast, so I was dismayed when he wasn't mentioned in any of the previous teams. Normally, a guy like him would have been a shoe-in.
Naruto is one I just picked because I heard so much about. But seeing who he is, I might actually have him take Spidey's place on Team Heroes next time and rename it Team Japan. :D
Kenshin I had completely forgotten about when I got Team Swordsman together, and I was determined not to let him slip this time. So I got him on the team as he deserved.
Team Girl Power
There was one main problem with this team when I tried thinking them up: what would their motif be? It came to me when I saw the massive male dominance in this tournament; there was something like 30 all-male teams, but only the Shin Sacred Treasures team boasted an all-female membership (the Bad Girls Team hadn't been announced yet, although they came out before I finished with my newer teams). There just had to be another "girl-power" team.
And here's where I talked to a buddy of mine, Eagle299, whose encyclopedic knowledge of anime dwarfs mine. I was originally going to put Hikaru Shidou of Magical Knights Rayearth and Utena Shoujo, but he refuted both and suggested Sakura Kinomoto for magic power and A-Ko Megami for pure physical power, as well as Ryoko Hakubi for the power of the LHW. The choice to add the Powerpuff girls came from me, after all the Bleedman references (Bell, Dexter).
So we have the practical A-ko, the intelligent Blossom, the wise-cracking, hard-drinking Ryoko, the ever combative Buttercup, the childish yet caring Sakura Kinomoto, and the somewhat flakey Bubbles. I'm pretty sure that they can pass for the cast of Love Hina if we ever throw Keitaro in there... hey, guys, what's that look on your faces?! Aw nerts! Guys! I was just kidding! We don't actually have to try it out!! Aw, man...
I also asked Eagle for a team I might add if we ever make a sequel to Mugen; Team Oyaji ("Old Man"/"Pops"). This would be Master Asia, Goku's sensei from Dragon Ball, and the old master from HunterXHunter (I think his name is Wing). I'm adding either Tung Fu Rue (Fatal Fury) or Takuma Sakazaki (Art of Fighting). Which comes to show you how much I respect Eagle299's anime know-how.
Team Wacky Hijinx:
Simply put; we needed a Toon Force team, or a team that has the sheer power of wacky cartoon and parody powers. Oh, sure, we had Nabeshin and Excel, and Bugs Bunny is on Team Hodgepodge, but we needed a team of ALL wackos.
So I came up with Puni Puni Poemi, the first anime I read on Wikipedia that made absolutely no sense whatsoever, and watching it only made things even more messed up. There was no question; she had to be on the team. Same goes for Bobobo-bo Bobo-bo; a 'hero' who takes no hostages and shoots his friends - IOW, a complete nutcase.
I wanted Bugs, but I came too late. That left one choice, the only guy even more dangerous than Bugs Bunny: Daffy Duck - as in 30's Daffy, the one and only original truly crazy toon character. So keep that in mind when you decide to write him. This version of Daffy would make Bugs go nuts.
I was left with only one other choice. Droopy would have been a shoe-in, but he was tarnished ever since the Tom and Jerry show in the early 80's, a sideshow to the main event of Tom and Jerry. Old Droopy would have been a force of Divine Wrath.
So I wound up with the choice of Slappy Squirrel, the only Toon Forcer that can get away with starting violence, not merely retaliating to an offense.
Anyone who faces this team; beware! Leave your sanity at the locker rooms, cause you sure as hell won't keep it intact with these guys.
Team Expendables:
Basically, just a team of constantly shifting line-up whose members always meet a gorey (or explosive) death. I think I got envious of Noduro, that's all.
No need to describe members; they'll all die anyways. Even when they lose (which is a given), they'll still hang around to be maimed/dismembered/mauled horribly by everyone else.
I was going to have them as a tool for Warhammer Chaos, but then decided against it. It's too late in the tournament to get another ball rolling, especially having the Chaos Primarchs go in. Maybe next time :p
That's all of my teams (I think...)

JLAvenger Part 2:
Blue Beetle II & Booster Gold-
They are the Famous(And Infamous) Blue and Gold Team of The JLI days. You can't mention one without the Other, these two are the Abbot and Costello of Fiction. Where it's BWA-Ha-ha or just kicking ass and Taking Names these guys are a TEAM. The Reason I chose these two is that 1)How would "Bwa-Ha-Ha" Deal with Anime Comedy, and ) They are like a foil to the story, they are not The most powerful guys around, but they bring a human aspect to it. Plus Ted Kord was in the Original Crisis, thats why he got his memories back(And the DCU heros and villans will too) so he knows what it like in times like these.
Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman-
She is also a Member with the New Avengers(Becase using Sentry wans't fair, by a long shot) puls she can be funny as well. She's also is a SHIELD Agent, don't be shocked if you see Nick Fury. And I planing some Kord/Drew shipping.
Team Doom
This team is Headed by Doc Doom, who makes the The Cosmics a bit nervous for he is a thorn in EVERYONE side, good or bad, Heaven or Hell. Plus whats a crisis without Victor? And What he wants? Ultimate power...For such is the will of Doom!!
Magneto is here for his own goals, for he wants to make a wish that Mutants are in control of All races. And he'll do almost anything to achive..even if it means screwing some people over.
Kagato is like the two above, in it for his own goals and is one Evil SOB. Plus he's after Tenchi and his friends, so there's no love lost.So there will be a battle between the Two.
Msytique.....While she is the foruth member I some what regret it, because I should have put in G1 Megatron(Since Prime is there.) wonder if I can get him in....

Anzell
When I introduced Vellinor to the RP, I had already decided that I would probably need a collection of "good" characters who would be sent to stop him -- this would not only allow me to use characters that I had not chosen for Vellinor's initial team, but it would also allow me to show more of the realm of Evermere.
Anzell was created to be an exact opposite of Vellinor: while he is crass, callous and constantly playing practical jokes on people, Anzell genuinely cares about the fate of the countless mortal lives in the universe, and would rather befriend mortals than command them. Likewise, whereas Vellinor is calm and confident in everything he does, Anzell is troubled and insecure, and is dogged by uncertainty. I wanted Anzell to have an ambiguity to her: on the one hand, she is determined to stop Vellinor and save existence, but on the other hand, she has severe doubts that she can do so -- she is very nervous about having been given so huge an assignment, and the stress is slowly but surely getting to her. Added to this is her own resentment towards Astraedon and his administration for having wrongfully imprisoned her brother.
Yet another fact that adds to the swirling inner conflict Anzell faces is the fact that, once, she felt sympathy towards a friendless Vellinor, and still does retain a very small degree of sympathy towards him. She understands all too well his anger towards Astraedon for having been banished, and yet, at the same time, she knows full well that she can't allow this small measure of sympathy to interfere with her mission. She knows that Vellinor must be stopped, and that to stop him, she must forget any sympathy she once felt towards him.
Because Anzell knows she and her team can't succeed alone, she has been busy approaching the Norns and the Angels for help. So far, she seems to have quickly befriended Skuld and Alaniel, and has even taken it upon herself to help them whenever possible. As a result, she has become involved not only in countering the threat of Orochi, but in investigating the machinations of Hild.
Anzell's Team
When I originally selected Anzell's team, I had no intention of making them compete: they were to act only as 'NPC's,' out to investigate Vellinor's presence and to combat him and his minions. I decided to select a number of cool character's that I had not selected for Vellinor's teams.
I chose Marv because he has to be simultaneously the most badass and the most fascinating character of Sin City. While he is known for committing acts of excessive violence that have made him a feared man in Sin City, he is also capable of performing acts of chivalry and kindness that counteract his capacity for brutality. With the possible exception of Hartigan, Marv is perhaps the most noble character in Sin City, and it is for this reason that I chose him for Anzell's team. With his sense of chivalry, Marv would no doubt balk at the prospect of someone like Vellinor or Orochi wanting to beat up or kill Belldandy to further his own power, and would do his best to stop him. Likewise, because of his code of honour, Marv would do his best to protect Anzell if necessary. Readers will note Marv's lack of super powers (unless you count his almost metahuman strength and durability), but he just may develop powers yet . . . . (grin)
I chose Alita for two reasons: first, her sheer speed, strength and skill are almost unparalleled in the anime/manga world (she is a master of the speedblitz). And, secondly, I chose her because Battle Angel Alita was once of the first manga I ever read. Alita is a very deep character in her own right, constantly searching for meaning and identity in her life, and I felt someone like her just had to be involved in MUGEN.
Master Chief, meanwhile, was chosen out of pure indulgence: HE'S FRIGGIN' MASTER CHIEF! To keep someone as iconic as him out of MUGEN would be heresy, I say, heresy!
And finally, I chose Zarabeth, a made-up character of mine from the Arena of Rezephua. I originally created her as a paradoxical, oddball character: rather than being a seductress and relatively unskilled fighter like other members of the Lahmia bloodline, Zarabeth was created as a character who eschews seducing men in favour of improving her martial prowess, and as a character who, unlike other Lahmians, is a militant feminist who hates men with a passion. This is, in part, because of her traumatic pre-vampire life, which was filled with abuse and betrayal. She is a very independent, free-spirited individual who loves fighting. She is very fast and agile (like all Lahmia vampires) and is a very skilled swordswoman, having trained under a Blood Dragon vampire lord and eventually bested and slain him.
Zarabeth is part of Anzell's team because she was one of the many unwitting mortals duped into serving Vellinor in the Warhammer world. Though she realized the error of her ways just before Vellinor was defeated, she and her sister Selena have been on the run of Lizardmen authorities ever since. It is for this reason (and because Vellinor was constantly making passes at her) that Zarabeth is determined to get back at the trickster and repay him for the suffering he's caused.
When the team split, I paired Zarabeth with Marv for obvious reasons: her fiercely feminist mindset would constantly be at odds with Marv's gruff yet chivalric manner. Needless to say, the two don't get along well, but that might change as things progress . . . .

Team Vellinor
I chose the members of Team Vellinor from a range of possible candidates, choosing them mainly for their coolness factor. Ash was chosen because he is, for all intents and purposes, a very iconic character, and someone like him just had to be involved in MUGEN. The same goes for Alucard, though I also picked him because, let's face it, he's one of the most powerful heroes in anime. Fighter was chosen not only for his skill and nigh-invulnerability, but also for comic relief. And finally, I chose Tetsuo not only for his vast powers, but also because M203 had written Akira as the herald of Belldandy, and I couldn't resist throwing Tetsuo in to challenge the other telekinetic.
You may wonder, though, why good guys like Ash or Alucard are serving a guy like Vellinor. Mainly, it's because they have no choice in the matter, but . . . well, let's just see how the story progresses, shall we?
The Other Team
The Other Team was originally created because (1) everyone else seemed to have more than one team than me, and (2) it was a reaction to the formation of the Legion of the Damned. B-ko was the easiest choice: her obsession with defeating B-ko made her easy for Vellinor to manipulate, and she can serve an additional role as one of the many scientists working for Vellinor in his schemes of domination. I included Black Mage because, well, let's face it, he's one of the most evil characters in webcomic fiction. The fact that he once became Lord of Hell would no doubt cause the other Hell Lords to worry -- a fact that Vellinor would love -- and it would allow Black Mage to interact with other 8-Bit Theatre characters like Fighter and White Mage. Plus, the MUGEN tournament is the perfect opportunity for Black Mage to increase his repertoire of spells.
Sesshomaru was thrown in for pure killing power: he is without a doubt one of the most powerful villains in anime, capable of slaying an entire army with a single swipe of his claws, or destroying both a horde of demons AND an entire mountain range with a swing of the Tetsusaiga. I just had to throw him in, though I am currently deliberating on whether to give him that cool demon-sword he once had, or the Tenseiga with its capability of sending opponents to the afterlife. NOTE: Inu-Yasha fans obviously notice a sympathetic side to Sesshomaru, as he has the kindness of heart to keep that little girl safe. I will say this now: in MUGEN, Sesshomaru will NOT be displaying any signs of being a good guy. This is Sesshomaru at his most heartless.
And finally, I threw in Silent Bob because it would be all too perfect to have a renegade Author on the team. After reading the CBUB fight of Jay and Silent Bob vs. Wayne and Garth, I knew that Silent Bob had to be included on the team. Silent Bob (aka Smith) is serving Vellinor for unknown reasons, but, as he tells Koshi Rikdo, he believes that what he is doing is ultimately for the good of all Existence. Time will tell what Silent Bob's actual intentions are.

You forgot the Nimnull/Zim/Mojo/Brain team, so there. :p
:)
OTOH, I'm not one to talk, since I haven't posted even Teams Justice and Dan yet, but I'm a bit short on time today.
Touche, OM. Okay, here goes:
Team Wannabe Conquerors:
OM mentioned that he originally wanted a Team Dark Justice, but decided against it as there was no way they'd work together.
I chose those four for that exact same reason; there's no way these four zany yet utterly incompetant fools would ever work together. And they're cannon fodder, nothing more.
Since this was a major mega-crossover, I wondered why the Brain had not noticed it yet. Of course, no sane person would want a megalomaniac with a losing streak worse than movie Nazis on their team, since a) Brain would try to exploit them and b) Brain always fails spectacularly. So I reasoned that Brain would get his own team going.
Too bad for Brain I also had a sense of humor, so I stuck him with three other equally power-hungry yet completely useless mad science users. Mojo Jojo and Invader Zim were shoe-ins, since I already thought up Team Girl Power with the Powerpuff girls by that point, and Bell was already in Team Neifelheim. I had to scratch my head thoroughly to remember a childhood fav: Professor Nimnull Nimbus, of the good old Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers.
While it is a given that these four wouldn't last more than two rounds (if they were very lucky; apparently, they aren't, since they got stuck in the draw with the Uberbunny Bugs himself), it would be a laugh riot to see them try. Not to mention that even if they lose, they'll still try to take control of Mugen.

Team Justice:
Four idealists, dead set on making Justice to thriumph. While their ways are often looked to as corny by others, they are putting all of their effort in the Tournament. They are my 'pure spirit above raw power' team, although they aren't pushovers compared to some others. And they really know how to make an entrance, complete with speeches.
Angel Trainee Flonne:
The team's leader and recruiter. When she heard about the Tournament, she asked her superior Seraph Lamington for permission to battle for the continuing of existence. She then prepared a list of three other members she thought were Justice-minded enough for her liking and set out to recruit them. Flonne is very naive at times, but despite her delicate appearance, she is still the most powerful member of the team.
Darkwing Duck:
The first teammate to be inducted by Flonne, and also the one with the darkest view of the world, despite his cartoon origins. As an urban vigilante, he has taken an interest on measuring himself against the famous Batman of Gotham City. He is driven in a good part by his ego, but now has found a bigger incentive for winning the Tournament in making his world, the Disney Universe, to come back to life with a wish to Belldandy.
Kim Kaphwan:
The Korean Master of Taekwondo, and the most mature member of the team. He is also the most conscious about the odds stacked against them, but he's still willing to fight to the end.
Princess Amelia:
The youngest princess of Seyruun Kingdom, she is on a quest for both making Justice, Peace and Order to win and to find her long missing sister, ignoring she is the infamous Mercenary Naga, the White Serpent. On the short time they have been together, Amelia and Flonne have become the best of friends, and they are the two closest members of the team.
Zelgadiss Graywords:
While this somber, no-nonsense magic user chimera was not in Flonne's initial list, Amelia convinced her to take him as a replacement member. Zel is the most cynical member of the team, and his aspiration is to win a wish from Belldandy allowing him to become a full human again.
Keep an eye out in the future for Amelia's fateful meeting with Naga, a twist in her relationship with Zelgadiss, and Darkwing confronting his nemesis Negaduck at last.

Team Dan:
This was my original 'Butt of the Joke' team, even if three of the characters were intended to be like that because of bad luck and being outclassed by others in comparison rather than because of incompetence (well, that, and it's always funny to see B-Ko frustrated).
Dan Hibiki:
Of course, when you think of joke characters in a fighting game, you think of Dan Hibiki first, so he was quickly chosen as one of the series' main comic reliefs. Dan received his invitation in Hong Kong through a middleman secretly contacted by the goddess Peorth, because the Almighty, for some unfathomable reason, wanted Dan in the tournament. Dan should be one of those 'characters that never die no matter what happens, always escaping doom one way or another' when the big bad stuff hits, and he indeed plays some sort of odd role in the endgame. For now, he has been trapped in the chibi body of a catgirl thanks to Excel Excel; his quest for being returned to normal will take him to several sources, including Excel herself and Dr. Strange, in the near future.
Sakura Kasugano:
The team's voice of reason, actually. With Dan in, his 'premier student' was an easy shoe-in. Sakura is more of a moral support character in this story, looking up to Ryu and cheering him while dealing with her teammates' antics. Still, as her recent run in with the bad guys proved, she isn't above getting involved in serious, life threatening situations. If she survives, look for her to try and take a more proactive role in the future.
Karin Kanzuki:
I like Karin a lot as a character and as Sakura's rival/friend (as a matter of fact, I like her more than Sakura). In the future, expect her to try to get nearer to Ken and Team USA, and also get involved in some investigations, bringing the Kanzuki Zaibatsu resources into play.
B-Ko Daikotouji:
To keep up with the Dan/Sakura team, I was going to have Blanka as the fourth team member at first. But then I decided to against an all SF lineup. I chose to pretend B-Ko was an old friend of sorts in the exclusive rich girl circles, and Karin would blackmail her to join Team Dan due to a bet they did in the past, which B-ko lost fair and square. Regardless, both B-Ko and Karin were very annoyed about having to have goofball Dan as team leader, and now B-Ko has left Team Dan behind and joined Vellinor's forces. What will happen next to her? Only time will tell.
Next up: Team Mercenary and Team Shin Sacred Treasures.
BTW, Saint, sorry for bringing this up. But you also forgot Team Robots.
And Golden Darkness, if you are reading this, could you please post some profiles too? I'm especially clueless about some members of Team Adventure and Shredder's team.

BTW, Saint, sorry for bringing this up. But you also forgot Team Robots.
Alright, alright... rub it in some more, why doncha?
Team Robots:
A joint effort with OM. Essentially, I felt we needed a Robots team in the tournament. Filling it with four cannon-fodder killer robots (Sentinels, Terminators, etc...) just wasn't fulfilling; such a team would be massacred in its first play. What we needed were heroic robots. And since there were heroic robots, there were two absolutely unforgettable must-haves; Tetsuwan Atomu (otherwise known as Astro Boy) by the unequalled mangaka Osamu Tezuka, and the one and only Blue Bomber, Rockman AKA Mega Man. And wherever those two went, their mentors, Dr. Ochanomizu and Dr. Thomas Light were not far behind with advice and technological know how.
Of course, that left the question of who else would be on the team. Oddly enough, both of them were originally radio dramas that were turned into animes and then mangas.
Nuku nuku (or "All-Purpose Cultural Catgirl Nuku Nuku" to be precise) was an obvious entry; after all, I doubt that there are many people who don't think of her when one mentions "anime robots". The other one was Lime of the Saber Marionnette J group; even though Bloodberry was stronger, Lime was the more popular one.
There was an agreement between me and OM to co-write this team; I handle Mega-Man, Nuku Nuku, and Astro Boy, and he handles the Saber Marionnettes, as his knowledge of them was far better (and I didn't know the smallest thing about the show).
A little sidenote here; while Megaman uses his Japanese name Rockman, I've decided on the anglicised name of Tetsuwan Atomu, Astro Boy (the recent 2005 japanese series is also called Astro Boy instead of Tetsuwan Atomu). Astro's name was chosen for easy writing, while Rockman's name was chosen for a better connection to his roots.
Since none of the robots would be complete without their supporting cast, we decided to mix it up a bit. Uranium, Astro's little sister, immediately hit it off with Roll, Rockman's sister - as in, not at all; both of them were now at it hammer and tongs. It was just funny to see robotic girl jealousy. Sadly, I got sidetracked from that sidestory as things progressed. Hopefully, I'd be able to return soon to fully functional writing capacity.
OOC: And OM? Even with that, Zim can spam the hell out of you with that full-screen mega-laser. And Shira Bell? Don't get me started; she killed me 10 times in a row.
BTW, did anyone manage to unlock anything on that game?

Well, Sandman applied late to the tourney, since he never paid attention to the original thread. But join up he did, and he had time for two teams. Team Evil Scientists and Team Chaos/ACROSS. I'll do the writing for both, as I talked to Sandman when he first made the teams.
Team Mad Scientists:
Essentially, these are pawns of an entity who showed up in the Crisis thread, and now she wants a chance to take on Belldandy herself and steal her powers. That entity is called Nadia. So she sets up a team with four evil scientists, who will use anything in their vast arsenal to win.
Dr. Ivo Robotnik AKA Dr. Eggman and Dr. Albert Wily were natural choices. No other mad scientist has matched their careers and the massive amount of mayhem and cult status those two have created. Even though they were beaten time and time again by certain blue-colored protagonists, it wasn't so much the problem with their alleged incompetence as the resiliency and power of said heroes.
Mandark also attained a high rank among *successful* mad scientists that few have attained. He was also chosen for his rivalry with Dexter, which was intensified in the Bleedman comic.
Ironically, Mandark died in the comic last I checked, so if we're relying on the Bleedman Universe, we have to figure a way for him to come back, either by surviving the blasts or coming back from the dead by someone's machinations, possibly Nadia's.
Then there was supposed to be Dr. Tomoe, one of the few actually competant non-cosmic villains of Sailor Moon. However, Sandman felt like he needed one of his own YvtW characters instead, and took Sandy from the future of the "You vs Anime" RP thread timeline. And so it was that she stole the invitation from Tomoe and signed up herself.
Team Chaos:
They were chosen as a counter to Team Evil Scientists, and for good reasons; there was absolutely no way any of those four could ever walk across a room without causing indescribable havoc in the most ludicrous way possible. Put them together, and there's nothing but mass destruction. And since most of the team is literally a walking time bomb should they get near any complex machinery or devices, they were the perfect counter to Team Mad Science.
Excel Excel, flakey agent of ACROSS and devoted servant of Il Palazzo, redefined the word Chaos. She was also the connection to their sponsors, ACROSS. There's also the fact that she's a master martial artist and completely unpredictable wild card that makes her a dangerous opponent against the more competant competition.
Ozaka, the eccentric cast member of Azumanga Daioh, is by no means a fighter; her job is to drive the opponent insane with her completely incoherent chattering.
DeeDee was one choice I wasn't sure would work. Before the tournament began, I was wondering how to get Sandman to replace DeeDee with Pinky in Brain's mechanical suit (thankfully, this never worked out, otherwise we wouldn't have Team Wannabe Conquerors :D ). We were using the PPG Doujinshi continuity extensively, and DeeDee was already dead according to that story. I personally thought that we'd use her from when she was still alive, but OM has quite clearly fixed the problem rather neatly by introducing Angel DeeDee.
Then there's Mihoshi, agent of the Galactic Police. If there was ever a being that should never get near technology, it's her. And her luck powers made her a natural choice for Team Chaos/ACROSS.
Reading Guide v1.0
As the timeframe is compact, and with many sides jostling for the Throne of Eternity, it has become necessary to write simultaneous sequences of events; henceforth, the Orchestral Manouvers in the Dark sequence will run in a concurrent timeframe. Ignition and Wings of Fire are the two parts of the Orchestral Manouvers in the Dark sequence;
Ignition deals with the Orochi, and offers a greater in-depth to the character.
Wings of Fire The "missing multiverse saga" deals with the Rind arc of Mugen, as the Valkerye Battle Division finally gets clearance to investigate the causes of the massive destruction in the combined Omniverse; corporate drama with a hint of Hunt for Red October.
I'm adding another part to the sequence: Kinsman. This will deal with the interpersonal relationship dynamics between Celestine's teams.

The Judges:
Before I introduce Team Mercenary, maybe I should talk a bit about the Judges, since we have seen so little of them and so much about the Mercenaries.
There are twelve Judges for the matches, most of them selected by me, except Sabin, who was Saint's idea. The Presence Himself chose them to represent several aspects of existence, including both good and evil.
Sabin: The prince of Figaro Kingdom from Final Fantasy VI for Super Famicom (Final Fantasy III in the american Super Nintendo). Since this is Saint's character, I don't know too well what will happen with him in the future.
Shinji Ikari: At first, I had thought about using Shinji as a fighter, making him to be picked by Xellos from the Instrumentality World of EVA episode 26 to fight with Team Beastmaster. But, since we have seen so little of what Post Intrumentality Shinji could do, and he would be too much of an unknown cheese factor as a rather divine being at that point, I chose just to make him a non-fighter Judge, taking him and the rest of the EVA cast from a middle point between episode 24 and the movies.
Asuka Langley Soryu: With Shinji in, Asuka was an easy choice, since they play well off each other. Asuka was brought of her catatonic state by the Angels when they took over NERV, and then told she was one of the chosen to repopulate Earth after Ragnarok. Most people seems to think of that choice as a bad idea, including even Asuka herself, but there is a reason for her choosing that will be eventually revealed.
Cosmo and Wanda: The Jury's comic relief, taken from the Fairly Oddparents cartoon. They are supposed to be representing the world of Fairies and magical beings in this contest.
Dhalsim: After Dhalsim's canonical retirement from fighting after the end of Street Fighter II, he couldn't be used as a fighter, but he was a good choice as a Judge due to his fairness, sense of honor, and knowledge about the ways of fighting.
Kaioh Shin: With Goku, Vegeta and the Mirai Android 18 taking active part in this, I felt the Dragon Ball universe gods had to have one of their own taking a part in the contest. I chose Kaioh Shin over the fat Kaioh-Sama because he would have taken over Cosmo and Wanda's roles as comic reliefs.
Morrigan Aensland: I did think about adding Morrigan to an all females team, but then I decided she would just go add to the list of uberpowered characters that way. Using her status as Makai Mistress, I chose to make her a Jury member instead.
The Phantom Stranger: One of DC's most mysterious and mystical characters, the Phantom Stranger is fully serving the Will of Heaven here.
Etrigan the Demon: A cynical, unpredictable rhyming demon from the DC Hell, no one knows his true intentions in this tournament. Is he on the side of good or evil this time? One thing is sure, whatever his side is in this conflict, it will be the one best serving to his own interests. (And yes, we should be seeing his human half, Jason Blood, later on as well).
Loki: What is Thor's nemesis and one of the most dangerous villians in the Marvel Universe doing here? This is the Jury member to keep an eye on. He has been lying very low so far, but when his moment comes, Loki will make his presence felt. Is he going to take kindly to another trickster god stepping into his way? Hmmmmm...
Aslan: The rightful king of Narnia is another of the 'fair and noble' Judges. I don't have too much on store for him right now, but I'm all willing to listen to suggestions.
Fighting teams:
Hearts of Fire: Nausicaa, Kenshiro, Naru Narusegawa and Raven
I never wanted any "total battlefield domination" teams, but rather, I wanted to look at the human factor with my picks and how they might cope with the end of existance. Henceforth, HOF represents pivotal characters with very wide outlooks on life; Naru, with her tendency to surpress her feelings, Kenshiro, who takes the cold and logical approach but who is yet not above feeling strongly about his cause, Nausicaa, who acts on her emotions without thinking very hard about it and finally Raven, whose emotional and honorable side was shown to a small degree att he end of ZOIDS: Guardian Force.
Together, with Kenshiro's black-and-white view of good ad evil, Naru's feelings coming back to the surface after finding Keitaro again, Nausicaa's desperation to save the Valley of the Wind and her people and Raven's anger at his newborn son being about to die, I think this team can generate a very good story, but they're severely outpowered.
Heavy Metal Impact: Ed, Al, Ifurita and Chii
Another team that I felt could generate a good story, with the dark nature of FMA, the pivotal, dual nature of Ifurita and Chii's innocence, this team of machines and mechanically-augmented fighters is a bit better equipped to deal with the level of threat in MUGEN, but as before, they're going to have an exceedingly hard time of it. Like HOF, they are storyarc generators, and not stupid-feat characters.
I want to look at how Ed and Al face the impending end of Creation, especially with all they have been through in their canon storyarcs. I feel that they play well off Ifurita, because of her cold logic and grasp of reality, but her emotions will also come into play as Makoto is finally found. Chii is here to balance out the team's equation in that she is perhaps the most innocent and noble one there, even if her body has been upgradd extensively for combat. Chii's story is one of innocence lost, starting with the death of Hideki Montosuwa as per the original Anime Cast for a Fighting Game thread all the way to the first time she draws blood, she and Freya will need to come to grips with what they will need to do to get the job done.
Holy Swords: Yomiko Readman, Robin Sena, Chorno and Rosette Christopher
About the best people to have at a tactical helm in such a situation, these four have pretty much the best idea of how to handle things. Unfortunately, like everyone else except for Kenshiro, Raven and Ifurita, they're simply outmatched for a tourney of this scale. This will be a test for them, of Robin's convictions, of Rosette and Chrono's love and will to live again, and finally of Yomiko's faith in her own beliefs. Yomiko will also lose some of her innocence when she realises how brutal she will have to be in order to get the job done.
Team Sponsor: Celestine
First appearing in the O!MG movie, I took a liking to this character as the Doom/Kagato of the O!MG universe in that he is a long-term planner, and will do the unthinkable to achieve his goal. His history with Belldandy puts them at both similar and pposite ends of the table; he desires a better world for man without judgement for better or for worse, and hence, he too intends to show The Prescence the strength of the human heart, and the power of the human spirit.
Orochi, and the Office of Area Reclamation and Redevlopment
I wanted to look again into the Orochi, and build him into the Beaurecratic Heaven of the O!MG universe; I always envisioned him as the darkside operator of Heaven, the guy who gets called when the untinkable needs to be done. And who has no problems doing it, especially when it involves massive loss of human life. Canonically, he wants to purge the Earth of human life and return it to its pristine condition. However, this time, when the planet itself is at stake, he might just have to choose the lesser of two evils in deciding which side he is on.
However, TOAA is an exceedingly adept planner and a master executor of said plans; and He has his ways of keeping the Orochi uder control...

Here's several other characters I use:
Garet
Garet is from the "Golden Sun" games, and is a Fire Psynergist. Psynergy is mental energy used to alter things, and Garet's involves movement and burning. Garet is incompetent and slow, in general, and is great company to Dorado Laredo Kompson.
Dr. Clayton Forrester
Dr. Clayton Deborah Susan Forrester is a scientist too insane for Team Mad Scientists. As pointed out, he is unstable (twice he burned down a convention for being second place), bizarre (he drolled over a picture in Sun Valley, California), and psychotic (wants to conquer the world via bad films).
Forrester hails from "MST3K" and is focused on destroying things to gain other things. This time, he uses a deck of cards ala Dr. Eggman in "Sonic X" to summon freaks via Scarmiglione. His most dangerous combo? Leviathan and Behemoth. Melvin Kompson's goal is to crush Forrester into submission.
Kingdok
Kingdok, while used by OM and Saint, was started by me. This led to Mimi Tachikawa gaining her "Specialty Suit". Kingdok is the leader of the (Stupid, Stupid) Rat Creatures, and is a giant threat.
TV's Frank
Dr. Forrester's tired-and-dead-again crony. Frank has been on the recieving end of Forrester's rampage, gaining bruises, mutilations, and even fatalities.
Yoshikawa (Emperor)
In MyAdventureGame.com, Yoshikawa is the leader of Spazoids, a group of misfits hailing from Team FanFiction's universe. He can transform into Ryukawa (a dragon), Onikawa (a bat-like creature), or Gigokawa (a demon). Trapped in a jewel, he broke free and wants revenge. Of course, Jack, Tiffany, Dorado, and Mel are more than ready to send the ruler back to isolation.
Zorc
Not mentioned yet, but will be large. During the duel with Seto, Jack will summon the card for of the Dark Ruler. Then, the real Zorc will appear.
Zorc is the RPG villain from the original "Yu-Gi-Oh!" series. He is not to be confused with Zorc Necrophades, the main villain from "Millinnium World".
Zorc will be a threat throughout the grounds, but he won't be defeated until the final episode of this series.

Vegeta-
The Prince of all Sayins, Ex-Villain, Goku's Rival and a Perfect memer for this team. Wanting to prove his might to all Vegeta quickly joined Guy's little team in hope to face Goku and Defeat him in Combat.
Vile/Vava-
From the Megaman X Sersis, Vile is a Reploid from the 21XX Era, and is on the run from The Maverick Hunters. Not siding with anyone beside his own he was the one who got an invite that got this team into the Tourney. He's also here to Take out X and Zero.
This team I really like since there the Screw Athourity ype team and if we do a Sequel This is Going to be Warriors 2.0:Guy,Vegeta,Jak(Jak and Daxter) and from these Three Protoman(MM Classic),Kazuma or Rachet(From Rachet & Clank)

After much delays (Sorry about not replying sooner) I have some of my bios out.
First of all, the sponsors:
The Player
Seeing that the other Teams were sponsored, I figured that my teams would need a sponsor as well. So, I'd decided to create an original character for the purpose of this story. And thus, Player, Lord of Games, the minor god of video games, was born. Why the name Player? It's more or less because I couldn't find a suitable non-English word that stands for video games. Then I decided on Player, figuring that it wouldn't be his real name, but at least a name he would insist on other's calling him.
With that I settled on concocting a back story for him, which I had only begun to reveal. He wasn't always a god, or in his words, a diety. He was once Wesley Tourque, an elite video game player among his high school peers, living in a world similar to Earth Prime(ie all the fictional characters are fictional to him). It was the year 1996, the year of the Nintendo 64's release. It was that year he received a call from the Goddess Help Line. Thinking it was a joke of some sort, and not thinking things through, he said he wished to be a "video game god", more in terms of having 'godly' video game skills.
The next thing he knows, boom, the wish was granted, and he finds himself going to heaven to be trained in his position as a video game god. The excuse for his departure given to his family and friends is that he's seem accepted to an elite technical school. He actually insists on this excuse, given his family's conservative religious beliefs. (I.E. he's trying to not shatter their worldview with the truth of that that other gods of mythology are actually just agents of the one Almightly.) In the next ten years, he would end up minimizing contact with his family, while putting up a front that he was working for a firm important to the video game industry. Otherwise, he has a somewhat fulfilling job as a video game god.
So why would he get so heavly involved with the MUGEN Tournament and the events surrounding it?
In his mind, he feels that the future of gaming is in danger. He believes that his domain is considered expendable by the higher beings(or in his words, "upper management"), in short, it has no place in the new universe Heaven intends to create. Also, if an agent of evil wins, undoubtly, they'll wish for total control of everything, and the last thing the Player wants is the domain of gaming to be twisted and corrupted for evil's purposes. And of course, having the world destroyed just when he's about to promote his "gaming revolution", it isn't just right. Operation Power Gaming is his plan to "set things right". And it involves more than sending champions to the tournament.
Oddly, despite being a video game god, he's seems to be closely aligned with Nintendo.
The Boss
The Boss was a later addition. Originally, the 'evil' teams were sponsored by different people, but I then decided the teams would be connected to one big villian. I decided on an evil counterpart to the Player. Why the name 'the Boss'? Well, video game bosses are often the most frustrating part of video games. It is the bosses of video games that keep game players from seeing the end.
To put it simply, the Boss here intends to see that the Player doesn't see the end of the MUGEN Tournament. While he's been seen building his alliance, his true goal is related to the final match between Belldandy and whoever reached her.
Not much officially has been released about this sponsor except:
He/She/It is the force behind the formation of Team Darkside, Team Nuisance, Team Devastators, and the Hellmaster's Boss Team.
He/She/It formed the "Deadly Alliance", an alliance of evil villians.
Keeps Tenticle Monsters for pets, and one sex slave
The Boss and the Player do have a history together. Shortly after the Player attained godhood, the Boss mysteriously appeared to oppose the Player by whatever means necessary. Either though trying to destroying videogaming's crediblity as a valid medium(due the anti-violent video game politicians), or being the force behind various attacks on Videoland(of Captain N fame), where the Player became a protector god of.
And now, the teams:
Team Smash
Mario - Formerly known as Jumpman, Mario's the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. With capable fighting skills and hordes of power ups from many game, he's a dangerous force to be reckoned with. Maybe even more dangerous if the Player decides to unleash "Composite Mario" on the Tournament.
Link - While there are many Links throughout the history of Hyrule, this Link is the first, the Hero of Time. Armed with the Master Sword, and all the items weilded by his fellow Links throughout time, he's too a force in battle. With the blessings of the Triforce of Courage, he's here to help save the day along with his other teammates.
Kirby - The wildcard of Team Smash. While seemingly weak, Kirby has the ability to copy powers by swallowing enemies or their attacks. The Player may see fit though that Kirby has his Smash skills as standard abilities.
Samus Aran - The Bounty Hunter. She brings to the team the power of her Chozo-created Power Suit, which is armed with many weapons. While the others are interested in saving the world, she's was hired.
Luigi - A later addition when Player realized more than four can be on a team. More or less the same skills as Mario.
Team Duelist
Yugi Moto/Atem(Yami Yugi) - When Atem's quest for his lost memories was complete and Zorc Necrophades truly defeated, he was ready to head for the Spirit World to earn his eternal rest. However, he was alerted by the Player of the coming end of the world, this time by the Gods themselves. Seeing that he can't rest yet till the world is safe again, he agrees to participate. He brings to the team his skills in summoning the legendary creatures of Duel Monsters. From his Dark Magicians, Exodia, to the Legendary Gods Osiris, Obelisk, and Ra. In short, this is before the Ceremonial Duel.
Netto/Lan and Rockman.EXE/Megaman.EXE- From the Rockman.EXE/Megaman Battle Network timeline. Netto/Lan is an accomplished Net-Op and a member of the Net Savers. With the help of his Navi Rockman.EXE/Megaman.EXE, he has thwarted criminal organizations like World Three, Gospel, and Nebula. When the battles take place inteh real world however, he can crossfuse with his Navi. He comes from post Rockman.EXE Stream series, where Duo just had reversed judgement on Lan's world.
Takato and Guilimon - From Digimon Tamers. Takato was a simple boy who love the Digimon game, until he got his hands on his Digimon partner, Guilimon, and a D-Arc. Takato, with his fellow Tamers, helped stopped the menace of D-Reaper from engulfing the world. Using the D-Arc, he can Biomerge Digivolve with Guilimon to form the powerful Mega level Digimon Dukemon, and with the power of Grani, can form Crimson Dukemon.
Ash Ketchum - The young aspiring Pokemon Trainer, who has on his journey to become a Pokemon Master, averted several crisis involving legendary Pokemon that could have become full blown disasters. Now he's called to help avert a greater crisis. The Player, for some reason, wishes to empower Ash for the duration of the tournament.
Enzan/Chaud and Blues.EXE/Protoman.EXE. Another Net-Op from the same world as Netto/Lan. Like Netto/Lan, he can crossfuse. Another later addition.

Team Bad Girls.
Well, since this team has received very little to do from me until now, I think I must clear some points about them.
This team was, along with Team Beastmaster, recruited by Xellos Metallium for his master Beastmaster Xellas. But actually, Xellas isn't expecting for any of her teams to win the tournament. Unknown to both teams, she has another purpose for them. However, while Team Beastmaster is competing believing they are actually fighting for good, the Bad Girls have darker intentions in mind.
Khalia:
The Demon Goddess of El Hazard, Ifurita's rival and de facto leader of this team. Hates Ifurita with all her heart, because another Ifurita model killed her a long time ago, before she was brought back to life by the Hellmasters allied with Xellas. Her ultimate goal is to destroy everything with her own hands.
Android 18:
This is the 18 from the Mirai Trunks future alternate timeline, not her much softer-hearted main DBZ-verse self. 18 is an uber powerful thrill killer, someone with a sadistic sense of entertainment, and really wants to help Khalia with killing everyone as soon as they win the tournament.
Livewire:
Superman's electric-powered enemy. She is in this merely as a play for power and recognition, as well as trying to get her revenge on the Man of Steel.
Harley Quinn:
The team's comedy relief. Except for Ivy, Harley is disliked by all her teammates, who think she's merely an idiotic screwball. However, Xellas chose her for a reason: her link to the Joker, Hild's ace under the sleeve. Harley has met her dear 'Mistah J' again in the tournament, but she is displeased at seeing him spending so much time with Mara. She also seems to have a strong whim of an interest on getting Asuka and Shinji Ikari together.
Poison Ivy:
Harley's old friend, and the only one in the team that really likes her, even if she also gets mad at her at times. This ecoterrorist with control over all plant life is the team's replacement member. She wants to stablish a new age of control of plants over Earth as soon as Khalia and 18 erradicate humanity. Ivy is, however, the team member most distrustful about their sponsors, being the smartest person in the group.

Team Crime Underworld:
This team was gathered by a still undetermined player. Their sponsor's identity will be revealed later.
Madame Lao:
The team leader, a world feared pirate and slave driver from Jim Bader's Ranma fanfiction series. Lao was born as a Chinese amazon from Shampoo's tribe. She is a very skilled fighter with control over water. However, she also has a Jusenkyo curse, and when she gets splashed with cold water she transforms into a giant white tiger.
Lao is calculating, smart, cold and apparently merciless. She also has a strong interest about other female contestants, having very strong lesbic inclinations.
Sagat:
After getting out of Shadaloo, the Muay Thai master trained for months, then years, for a rematch against his rival Ryu. When MUGEN was starting, Lao approached him with an offer to join her. She had heard all about his past with M. Bison and Shadaloo. Sagat didn't care about Lao's goals or operations; he just wanted to fight to battle Ryu once again. He accepted her offer with that in mind, knowing Ryu would be, no doubt, taking a part in MUGEN.
Mimi:
Not to be confused with Mimi Tachikawa from Digimon. This Mimi is a young mad scientist from Team UFO (a Team Rocket parody) from the old You vs. the Anime World thread. Mimi is what you would get if you fused Sailor Moon S's Mimete with TR's Jesse and then added some Professor Frink to the mix. She is quick tempered, vain and very boy-crazy, and while very smart science-wise, her planning abilities are very lacking. Deep inside, she often feels lonely and would like to have friendships matching her standards.
Mimi can make all sorts of weird but functional machines and living weapons, like very strong Youma demons, on a low budget. She has four partners: Paquito, a small kid with no powers or special abilities; Puttymon, Paquito's cynical, lazy Digimon partner, who hates having to fight; Savior Sapphire, a Sailor Mercury parody with a Rei Ayanami-like personality who was once brainwashed by Mimi into becoming her Magical Girl sidekick and best friend (Mimi calls her 'Wataru-chan'); and OM (originally played in You vs. Anime by yours truly), a weakling amalgam of all Anime Punching Bag characters, who has no powers or skills, other than being virtually unkillable no matter what you ever do to him.
Rio Kinezono:
When Interpol officer Chun Li disappeared (explaining her absence from this tournament so far) while investigating Madame Lao's slavery ring, Team WARRIOR (from the Burn Up anime) sent the blonde, determined, always money-hungry agent Rio undercover to join Lao's team and investigate them. Rio will fight using special power armor built for her by her Team WARRIOR friend, the technological genius Nanvel Candlestick.

Teams That Never Made It In:
Team Rock Stars- this was sort of borrowed from my Rumbles thread entitled "If certain rock stars had super powers . . .." The premise behind this team would have been as follows: the Gods of Rock (who include Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott, Robert Plant, Jimi Hendrix, Ian Curtis and Kurt Cobain) know that music as we know it would be irrevocably destroyed by the impending apocalypse, and would send a team out to fight in the tournament -- a team composed of still-living recording artists, each representing a different genre. If I had gone through with this, I would have made a team consisting of Trent Reznor (representing industrial rock), the Gallagher brothers (counting as a single fighter for space purposes and representing Brit rock), either Beck, Bjork, Michael Stipe, Frank Black or Flea of RHCP (representing alt-rock), and either James Hetfield or one of the members of Slipknot or System of a Down (representing metal -- let's face it, including Lemmy would have been overkill, and he's a god in his own right anyway). However, as reserve members, I would have thrown in two other individuals who represent the broader range to the musical spectrum- Chuck D (representing rap) and Willie Nelson (representing country). Their antagonists? The Pop Music Syndicate (PMS) headed by the evil, eeevil Usher.
Team Chaos Gods: This would have been a team representing Chaos of WH40k. Ideally, it would have been one of the named characters for each of the Chaos gods -- hence, a team consisting of Kharn the Betrayer, Ahriman, Typhus, and Lucius the Eternal (who would no doubt try to compete with Blokk for scoring as many chicks as possible, though I'm sure Lucius would be much more successful). However, I scrapped this idea, as Saint 007 already created a team controlled by the Chaos gods, and besides which, I have enough on my hands already without creating additional teams to worry about.

Miscellaneous Characters, Part I:
John Constantine, The Hellblazer:
I took Constantine's past with the goddesses, especially Skuld, from the 'Dire Fates' crossover fic, well worth your time ( http://www.thekeep.org/~rpm/vertigo/direfates/ ) . He will be a player in the shadows for the most part, scheming and waiting until his time is come. Although I have found writing the bastard is a real pain in the behind. I haven't been fully satisfied with a single piece of Constantine's dialogue I have done so far, but I'm going to keep working on it until I can nail it.
Hild:
I can't say too much without spoiling, but Hild is, in a way, my major baddie for the series, although in an unusual way. I don't want to depict her as too willingly evil or vicious. As a matter of fact, she's acting moved mainly by desires of survival, both her own and her kingdom's. Yet, she'll be doing chillingly ruthless acts for that goal, and will put in motion events that will wreck destruction in a scale even beyond what she had intended for. But as she sees it, she's acting because the Almighty forced her to fight... so she won't be stopping at fighting back. And if the Almighty's favorite daughter is dead in the proccess, well, He brought that one on Himself, in Hild's opinion. She feels, as a matter of fact, somewhat backstabbed by Him.
On the other hand, Hild will be willing to go to untold lenghts for the wellbeing of her own daughter, Urd.
Keima Morisato:
A simple pawn on Hild's plans, to create a drift between Belldandy and her sisters and hurt Belldandy's personality and fighting spirit. I actually feel sorry for Keima, when I look back at what I have done with him (and what I will have to do in the future). His whole life is a lie fabricated by his creators, and yet he's such an innocent person, in a way he can be seen as a metaphor of all the people is suffering due to the Omega Initiative.
Blokk, the Hentai Tentacle Monster:
This character comes from one of the funniest entries in the Anime Fighting Game thread. When I named him, I wanted a name that sounded both goofily inhuman and fitting to someone who is dumb as a brick. Blokk is just another living punching bag, just like the God-Killers, Hanagata, Team UFO's OM and Keitarou (we haven't had Keitarou being beaten enough in the story IMHO). It's clear we have no shortage of that kind of characters here. :D
However, it must be noted, when there are no women or sex directly involved, Blokk will really prove to be a very competent fighter. Just wait for the Blokk vs. Happosai rumble. It's just he turns into a dimwitted loser whenever he sees a woman.

A good example of Blokk's incompetence is "Mini Interlude: Cosette vs. Mimi Part I". After seeing Cosette fire a round at Mimi Tachikawa, she and Palmon got out of it... only to have Blokk get sprayed. Then, he gets whallopped by Cosette, allowing Mimi to escape.
Then, he get's beat up by two cops. Then, Koenma, Booster Gold, and Blue Bettle punch him out!
Here's some of my teams that either aren't going to be huge, nor did they make it:
Team Bandits- This comprised of Bandit Keith, Dark Bakura, Bandits from
"Super Mario Bros 2: Yoshi's Island", Catastrophe, Zygore, and Sid. Keith is the duelist who has a grudge to Maximillion Pegasus for losing to a kid after Pegasus written down Keith's strategy. Dark Bakura is the thieving incarnate of an ancient grave robber, who's only goal was to get back at the pharoah for the slaughter at Kul Edna. Bandits are, well, bandits. Zygore and SId were Keith's incompetent lackeys. Catastrophe is a cat that is similar to a James Bond villain.
Team Adepts- All eight adepts from "Golden Sun" series. Right now, Garet is the only one shown.

Oh. Whoops. My mind keeps escaping from me like Homer's did in "Burns, Baby Burns".
Homer: Twenty of the suckiest minutes of my life.
Ned: Ho ho ho, suckin' down the cider, uh? Hey, word to the wise --
[shows Homer a card] season pass! It pays for itself after the
sixteenth visit. You know, most people don't know the difference
between apple cider and apple juice, but I do. Now here's a
little trick to help you remember. If it's clear and yella',
you've got juice there, fella! If it's tangy and brown, you're
in cider town. Now, there's two exceptions and it gets kinda
tricky here...
[Homer's brain gets bored]
Brain: [moans] You can stay, but I'm leaving.
[brain floats away; Homer is now staring blankly]
Ned: ... can be yellow, if they're using late season apples. And, of
course, in Canada, the whole thing's flip-flopped.
[Homer collapses]
Okay. I'll explain about Mimi's "Specialty Suit" shortly.

Mimi's Specialty Suit
To explain this, let me put in perspective about how I handle things in my writings: I always give characters power items. They can be offensive, defensive, or practical. When I did something on MyAdventureGame.com (Think of it as interactive fanfiction in some spots), I made this comic. In one part, Mimi was forced to kill several rats. I'd be more than happy to show you it, although the comic itself is just crude sketches on filler paper.
The suit was dubbed a "bomb suit". I didn't know how to draw those, so what I did was conjure up a fishbowl-style helmet, complete with padding and inserted lighting (the bumps around the ears are a mystery, however). The body consisted of a large navy blue chest with arms and pink legs. It was adult-sized, so she had PLENTY of wiggle room. Plus, I was kinda bad at proportion.
Eventually, I did what I called "Trimming the Fat". What I did was simple: Make the suit less bulky. So, the suit was made sleeker, and fit Mimi more acutely. I keep changing the suit to fit my style or just to have something to do, but I've already thought of a plain suit (just a helmet and basic suit), a burned-out suit (a suit that looked burned out, but left a heart-shaped stain on it), a diving suit (a version of the suit, only with flippers and a rim around the faceshield, akin to old diving helmets), and others.
At first, Mimi hated the suit. But over time, it became somewhat vital to her, as if up to the point that if she didn't have it, she couldn't do much. Eventaully, Mimi alternated from taking things on without it; only using it when the damage risk runs high.
All in all, it was mostly defensive. After the "trimming", the suit went from "Bomb Suit" to "Specialty Suit". Weird gizmos like built-in respirators, floatation devices, roller blades, and mini-maps keep reappearing over time, based on the suit's style.
In my next post here, I'll show you a few suit examples.
Right, since there are several original characters in the MUGEN arc, I'll make a post to put up the renderings of them. The authors have given me the descriptions, so I'll be generating these as we go along and posting them here.

Miscellaneous Characters, Part II:
Zauriel: The former Justice League member and guardian angel is somehow back working 100% for Heaven's upper management now, despite asolutely disgreeing with the Omega Initiative. He serves as Rayden's right hand man and head of MUGEN security, a task that may surpass even his capacity. Just like I explained the reasons why Shinji, Asuka and Misato are in MUGEN, and I'm about to do the same for Cosmo and Wanda, I eventually want to explain Zauriel's motives to joing the MUGEN staff.
Billy, Grim and Mandy: After the Saint of Killers was dispatched, and since Heaven needed an agent of Death in the Grounds (and Vertigo Death was too busy) I decided to bring Grim and his proteges in the story to give it a few more touches of dark irony and bad humor. Grim is going to reclaim all the souls of the dead in the tournament. Billy will just be up to his usual dumb antics, but Mandy is going to have her presence felt in some way or another before this all is over. Just like all other CN/Nick characters here, they are basically their Bleedman (pre-Mandy's adulthood) selves.
The Animated Teen Titans: Some of these kids *might* die later in the story, but not in ways you'd expected. I brought them to give a viewpoint of the lesser heroes in the big scheme of things. Keep an eye out for Starfire applying for membership in Team Saviors from Outer Space now that Tenchi is gone, Raven becoming a replacement in Team Light and Darkness, Beast Boy's fateful meeting with Beenuel, and Terra and Robin in a collision course with the original, comics Deathstroke!
Callindra: Straight from Neil Gaiman's Angela miniseries, Callindra is a young (for Heaven standards) Angel who assists the divine beings with their paperwork. She would prefer the Universe to be spared, though, and has put a lot of special faith on Flonne's Team Justice for it.
Next: Team Mercenary, at last.

Miscellaneous Characters, Part II:
Speaking of Mandy:

Yes, I saw that one too. I'm going to have a scene soon with Urd making Grim to show her her and her sisters' life hourglasses to verify if she and Belldandy are really about to die. That scene is pretty much based on the scene with Grim and Mandy at the pool.

Just, either refer to me as "J Dog" or "John Barnes" if you include my parts. In all ironicy, even I can't explain how I draw Gatorboy (I consider them a species, so I capitalize them. You don't have to if you don't want to). But, here's several tips:
*Unlike other characters, I would start Dorado and Mel's heads. Form a small triangle, but without a base. If the character is facing left, create a small arch going from the leftmost slope of the triangle down (same can be said for right, but it's the rightmost). The arch will be the setting for their nose. At the other side of the arch, create another triangle. Then create two lines that go from behind the triangles to about they are about a few more "triangles" (length) away. I would have made a box before this phase, and placed it directly "on" the figure. Once you set the effect, form two eyes at the ends of the lines you just made. Form another line from the arch and take it below the right (or left if he's looking right) line. Stop there. That's going to be the mouth's upper jaw (the odd thing is the nose and mouth are on one thing). But, halfway in the new line, create another line that slopes a little. Thake is just below the new line. But don't have it link. That's the new mouth you made of him. Form another line from this one's ending, and have it go down.
Back to the eyes, form a line one eye-length away from them, and have it go down to the point of the first down line. Don't let them meet. I'll explain soon. Go back to that line, and raise it up a little, but at a slight angle, till where it is above the eyes. This is where you may draw his hair or anything else.
The two last lines can now be combined to form a shirt collar. Where the lines originally ended, make two more lines that branch out. They are the shoulders.
Well, that's about the best I can do.

Basically, Chaos is considered the biggest and worst threat to face both the Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40K universes. Taken from the concept of "Man vs Himself", the forces of Chaos stem from the Immaterium (better known as the Warp), which is a sort of reality connected to our own, one which is closely connected to the psychic powers of any being (psychics and psychic races have a presence in the Warp).
However, it should be noted that Chaos was created from the dark desires and emotions of the sentient races, since the Immaterium was shaped by the psychic reflections of the Materium (aka the 'real world'). So, in a very real and terrifying sense, it is the evil in the hearts of the sentient races that will bring about their downfall, since they now have physical (or metaphysical, as it were) form.
You will notice the big difference between Warhammer Chaos and Slayersverse Chaos in that Slayersverse Chaos is basically the same as the Greek Goddess of Night, Nyx; Nyx was the grandmother of Zeus, and generally held to have created everything, including the Greek Gods themselves, and is vastly more powerful than they are.
Since every big muckamuck in the game is in (the Mizoku, Hild, Thanos, future appearances by Darkseid, Braniac-Sigma and others), it just stood to reason that Chaos, a consistantly much more devious (if not quite as powerful as, say, Darkseid) force would want the spoils for themselves.
I had started the idea for a Warhammer "unofficial" team at about the start of the matches, as I had began reading Warhammer references in earnest. Originally, I had an idea of Team Expendables being merely a front, to be slaughtered later by the "real" team, made of four Chaos Primarchs (Magnus the Red of the Thousand Sons and representing Tzeentch, Mortarion of the Death Guard and representing Nurgle, Fulgrim of the Emperor's Children and representing Slaanesh, and Angron of the World Eaters and representing Khorne) led by the newly-revived Horus. I had no idea, to be honest, that Lord of Nonsensical Crap also had a Chaos team idea, and pretty much sidetracked his plans even though he was better informed than I was about the Warhammer universes (both Fantasy and 40K). As it were, my own plans were ill-formulated, and the idea was scrapped.
Shortly after, me and LoNC came up with the idea of possessed champions of Chaos. After many suggestions, LoNC suggested that we have anime and fiction characters possessed by demons of Chaos. And we went with that.
Our cuts came out as follows:
Dark Sakura: This was my first suggestion, and we stuck with it. Capcom had put Dark Sakura as a sort of counterpart to Evil Ryu in some "vs" games. The concept was "what if Sakura followed Akuma around instead of Ryu". What we did is twist it some more; we took the same sweet Sakura Kusagano that we know and love, and made her a victim to the poisonous whispering and promises of Chaos about becoming the greatest warrior ever. To be honest, there was a bit of an overlap between Khorne and Slaanesh here; Slaanesh is concerned with hedonism and perfection, even that of fighting, whereas Khorne's guys "go straight for the kill", even if Khorne is also the Chaos God of tactical brilliance. Chaos Sakura fit Khorne in the end, and we went with that.
Sakura's descent into darkness will mirror the near-miss Ryu had in Street Fighter Alpha series. On Sakura's descent into madness, Ryu will be forced once again to confront his inner darkness. As for Sakura; will she recover? Who knows ;)
Dorian Grey: For starters, here's a few links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorian_Gray
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Picture_of_Dorian_Gray
If you recall, Dorian Grey was also a villain in the movie League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Basically, Dorian Grey is the ultimate Slaanesh poster boy: he wishes never to grow old or die, so that he can live a long, long life of selfish hedonism, and he is an extremely debauched, morally corrupt man. Instead, it's his image in his portrait that suffers the aging effects and any injuries he might suffer, which results in his immortality. Furthermore, Dorian (in the LXG movie and comic book) is a master swordsman, and just might prove to be a formidable warrior thanks to Slaanesh's gifts.
Other candidates for the role of Slaanesh's Champion were Fatora of El-Hazard, Batman's enemy the Scarecrow (who was thankfully dismissed since he in no way personifies Slaanesh) and a third choice that thoroughly neauseated LoNC that I never brought them up again. Also suggested were Dark Elf stereotypes, but we couldn't think of a fitting one.
Proteus: The Champion of Tzeentch, and he reflects it perfectly. Tzeentch is the Chaos god of sorcery, transformations, and constant change, while Proteus is currently a shapeshifting energy lifeform of vast psychic powers, and originally a mutant kid. Proteus has long been divorced from his origins as the child of Moira MacTaggert of X-Men comic book fame, and is now more concerned with what he can acheive with his power. As such, it didn't take much convincing to get him to tag along.
Other candidates for Champion of Tzeentch were Evangeline McDowell, being a gifted sorceress and ever seeking tomes of magic to free herself from the seal that limits her powers.
Bacterian: The smelly, unwashed, disgusting DB minor character has been ressurrected (or at least brought back to the limelight) as Nurgle's champion. Nurgle is the Chaos God of stagnation and hubris, as well as being the Father of Plagues. Bacterian has several constants; such as never taking a bath in his life, and smelling like an open sewer. With Nurgle's gifts of the Rot and the massive endurance that the will of Nurgle grants, he's going to be operating on a whole new level now.
Like Sakura, Bacterian was pretty much the only choice for Nurgle, and was suggested by LoNC.
What this team will be doing is as yet a secret. Stay tuned to Mugen to find out!!
Lord of Nonsensical Crap
05-14-2006, 09:11 AM
Like Sakura, Bacterian was pretty much the only choice for Nurgle, and was suggested by LoNC.
I should like to further point out that it was OM who originally suggested Bacterian when I PM'd him on the matter. But it's as Saint said: each of these characters personify the aspects of the four different Chaos gods. While they are quite powerful on their own, each of them is now possessed by a Greater Daemon of Chaos -- a hulking monstrosity of a demon that is on par with a 1st-class demon of the Slayerverse or OMG-verse.
The names of these particular Grater Daemons is yet to be revealed (though I know their names). Suffice to say, they are the most powerful of their kind. The daemonic possession grants their hosts unbelievable strength and endurance, in addition to some unique daemonic powers (Proteus and Gray, for instance, will gain a variety of new Chaotic spells, Bacterian will gain insane durability (and the ability to summon plagues to weaken the enemy), and Sakura will pretty much gain strength and skill to put her on par with Akuma himself. In other words, Team Chaos is not a force that should be taken lightly.

OM, I like that. I'm not going to make fun of your name.
You know, I regret not posting my characters early. But I was REALLY mad (actually, volcanically erupted) at what happened over at the community forum, and I was taking time off the forum to cool down (I stated it as "Retirement", though). However, my characters (Jack, Mel, Tiffany, Dorado) are memorable, even though it wasn't until the fifth episode, and I'm glad about that.
Can't wait for them... and the DigiDestined, and the Mel/Nabeshin battle, and Petomer, and Vellinor's revenge against Dorado to appear on that.
Some things:
1. If you are wondering why I didn't use Uckman, and killed him off, it's because I didn't have any juice for him. He wasn't my character per se (as stated, he was from my favorite fanfiction). I didn't want to kill him off, but it's best to do away with a character in agony.
2. That emperor that rised from the sea was the emperor Yoshikawa I talked about. Want to find about him? Play this. (http://www.myadventuregame.com/game/default.aspx?September_the_14th%3a_The_Final_Chapt er)
It also features Mel, Dorado, Tiffany, and Jack. Consider it as them before Mugen.

Hah! That's good! Here's a better cross-over:
Vellinor-Jack Stallwall!
I can't wait for the next one (Tiffany). BTW, MechaniX, do you have a sketch of her yet?
EDIT: If you do the crossover, Jack's part should have "Planet Houston" on it. Basically, it should be a stone-wall with the words "Planet Houston" (and maybe the Texas state flag) spray-painted on it.

Excellent! She looks just as I imagined she would look -- tough, resourceful, the perfect contrast to the ever-so-pretty-and-elegant Anzell. Ace job! (But whatever you do, don't ever let her hear any doujinshi-related thoughts about her. Seriously, it's for your own safety, man)
BTW, LoNC...

In his defence, Anzell was the ugly duckling back then. But yeah, no doubt he's hitting himself now.
As to the crossover: hmmm, looks good! Though I highly, highly doubt Zarabeth and Kaarage would get along well (what with Kaarage's tendency to accidentally put his hands where they don't belong, and Zarabeth's tendency to beat up/hack apart any man who so much as whistles at her)
Hah! That's good! Here's a better cross-over:
Vellinor-Jack Stallwall!
If you do that, be sure to feature Vellinor pulling a prank on poor Jack (or else taunting him mercilessly, perhaps paraphrasing the French Knight from Monty Python)

That's the whole point. :D She'd get along fine with Obsidian though[one of the three Fates specializing in high explosives] who's quite the feminist in her own right. However, Obsidian's a complete biatch about it; she knows she's hot as, but she dresses that particular way as a way of saying "you'll never get any of this." Sends men insane.:D Generally Obsidian's the one abusing Nudoru to no end, ie. putting an exploding multiverse into his mask before he puts it on, rigging his tennis ball with a mini-nuke and putting a black hole in the last hole when he's playing golf so he gets reduced to a string of atoms, eyc etc etc. :D

But, answer my question: Got a Tiffany sketch?
Not yet bro, but I'll post up the first one. I'm warning you though first sketches look like shit usually because it takes time to portray the character wellProto you saw above to get it right, just like the original creator wants it to be.]
This is good practice for me because I must learn to ask the right questions to "see" what people are thinking[industrial design student]
BTW, question for all, the drawing with Nudoru beside Zara, do the styles mesh and do the characters look like they would go on a common page with that drawing style[ignoring the characters] I'm a bit worried that the style has changed a bit.

Waa! Mean!
Just kidding. I'm glad that you were being honest back there. Even I think my past art sucked.
Right, now this is a 5-minute quick and dirty first sketch: Tiffany Stalwall
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/MechaniX_034/TiffanyStalwall.jpg
Here is the reasoning for the first sketch, and why it is so quick:
-Initial look of the character and first-time fleshing out[get the idea of what it will look like]
-Check proportions to character profile
-Check look to character profile
-Test colour scheme[the streaks near the drawing are copics, the letters are colour code for the marker ink#] and see if it works with the character
Professionals can produce this in about 3 minutes. As ametuer hobbyist, it takes us a bit longer, this is freehand with no template. Dont worry, you can draw better than this soon JDOG!!!

I think the characters mesh well. I wouldn't be worried about the style change.
Come to think about it, MUGEN characters should look kinda weird standing next to each other anyway. I mean, when you have Team Rocket from Pokemon on the same arena than, say, the Clown from Spawn, there is no way we should keep both sides keep to their original artstyles and yet looking as if they came from the same world.
And you are right, drawing takes a lot of time and effort. I should know, having done some attempts at it. So take your time.
(But I want Keima and Rei XV eventually! :D ).

Okay, I think I've already covered all of my other teams (Alaniel-sponsored or otherwise), so I'll just explain a bit more about them here.
Basically, this team isn't so much a power team, like Team Epic or Team Warriors, nor a combat team (even though three of its members are actually good fighters in their respective universes). Their job is actually to act as a 'special intervention force', which acts behind the scenes and helps tilt the balance against any villainous attempts on the tournament and its fighters.
Line-up consists of: Dominic Deegan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominic_Deegan#Heroes): Cynical and realistic, he is a young man gifted with the power of second sight, enabling him not only to see the future, but also glimpses of the past and events happening on other planes of reality. Being cynical, he dislikes optimistic viewpoints, but is essentially a good person who does everything in his power to protect the people around him. He was recruited by Alaniel for the valuable power of his 'Second Sight' ability, which might help greatly in outwitting any plans that the antagonists (aka Hild, Thanos, Chaos, etc...) may have made.
Dominic seems to get along well with the rest of the team, and especially with the Orc known as Thrall. This is because, like his father, Dominic has an enlightened POV when it comes to other races, and is friends with several Orcs in the webcomic (where they are portrayed as mostly noble savages). While Thrall is definately not the kind of Orc that Dominic is familiar with (Orcs in the Dominic Deegan (http://www.dominic-deegan.com) webcomic seem to be more-or-less human-looking, while Warcraft Orcs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orc_%28Warcraft%29) are basically big muscular brutes at 250-300 lbs/100-140 kg), they seem to have gotten off well.
His pet talking cat, Spark, has come along for the ride, and man, that feline has a penchant for making bad jokes. He is also a bit selfish, preferring to just sit around and eat, and will even wake up Dominic just to get fed. However, he will help Dominic when the need arises, and is very fond of his patent "Death From Above" attack.
Thrall: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrall_%28Warcraft%29) Warcheif of the Orcish Horde in the land of Azeroth, he is a noble figure who has managed to free his people from the darkness of demon-worshipping and back to the old ways of enlightenment and shamanism. He is an Orc Far Seer, which means that, like Dominic, he has the power of second sight and vision. As of currently in the Warcraft universe, Thrall has created a new home for the Orcs, called Durotar, where they may live as a proud, free people. Like Dominic, he was hired by Alaniel in order to counteract any plans against the tournament.
Proto Man: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protoman) The 'older brother' of Mega Man/Rockman, the warrior known as Blues is from his video game depictions, where he's essentially a good guy who just acts mysteriously in order to acheive what he sees is the best solution. While he has cooperated with Mega Man's arch-nemesis Dr. Albert Wily in Mega Man 3, it was merely to test his brother's resolve in fighting evil (the one in Mega Man 5 is an impostor, built by Wily). His ability to show up almost anywhere and penchant for working behind the scenes, along with his powers (which are almost identical to Mega Man's) made him a natural choice as Alaniel's infiltrator/spy.
Bunny: A little girl who, while appearing as an ordinary little girl, is actually the 4th Powerpuff girl. She appeared in the episode "Twisted Sister" as a deformed quasimodo-like being, an imperfect creation made by the girls to help them with the crime problem in Townsville. She died at the end of the episode, evidentally triggered by her own body's instability.
The premise here is that some of her remains were recovered by Alaniel, who needed a Powerpuff girl of his own, and had her recreated with more professional help. Her current appearance (http://www.deviantart.com/view/17677870/) (the girl with the brown hair and purple dress) was taken from Bleedman (http://bleedman.deviantart.com/), who I might add needs to be taken off the net and made to make his own animated series. The dude is THAT (http://ppg.snafu-comics.com/) good (http://grim.snafu-comics.com/).
Bunny - both as she appeared in Twisted Sister and her current appearance - is a girl with a high ponytail and purple dress. As of yet, she has not yet shown up in the PPGD, so I've taken a bit of liberty with her concept.
Her powers, while mostly similar to those of the Powerpuff girls (superstrength, heat vision, flight, superspeed, super-endurance), has a bit of a twist to them. Like Blossom's Ice Breath, or Bubbles' ability to talk in any language, Bunny has one special ability of her own; the ability to alter the density and hardness of her pody parts (and please, no jokes). That means she can phase through walls strengthen her fists for extra damage, etc... Ironically, the source of this ability is the same molecular instability that killed her the first time round, and as such has to sleep in a special chamber which helps her maintain her form. If she uses her powers for extended periods, she reverts to her previous brutish form, and becomes in danger of having her body dissolve rapidly.
She retains her desire to help her sisters from the "Twisted Sister" episode, but is now on a level of intelligence that makes her much more capable than her canon appearance. In her current incarnation, she feels a twinge of guilt towards her sisters, whom she nearly let down before, and as such will go to any lengths to help them.
While she is somewhat envious of the relationship the three share, she is perfectly happy to help them, as opposed to Bell, who is trying to prove her superiority to the Powerpuff girls, especially Blossom. The relationship between Bunny and Bell, should the two ever meet, would most likely be highly antagonistic. Bell tries to defeat the Powerpuff girls, something Bunny will most definately try to stop.
Bunny's duty is to act as the team powerhouse, since she is the one with the highest fighting capabilities.
So far, this team has been making slow progress with countering the various plots that the bad guys have come up with, but nevertheless, they are not ones to be underestimated.
Currently, very few people know of this team's existence. Aside from Anzell and her team, Alaniel's Special Team has been kept tightly under wraps. Karin Kanzuki has met Dominic in the attempt to find the missing Sakura Kusagano, but is not aware of his role in the tournament. Likewise, while Blues has made contact with his brother and Team Robots, he has not yet revealed anything about the Special Team or his role in it. Above all, Bunny's existence on the grounds has been kept a tightly guarded secret.

I'd reckon he should INK them and see how it turns out; drawings that look shit pencilled can come out bloody awesome when you ink them[I'll scan one of the pencilled character sketches I did and you can see how shit it looks]. I like the cartoony style though; it really bridges the gap between the hardcore comics and the softer lines.
Ink, and I think you'll see somthing special about them.:evilsmile Heres a tip; for this style, concentrate on lineweights in order to establish the character "weight," don't rely too much on tone and shade that's like black fill. You can do tones when you take them into photoshop or colours.

Butt ugly, rushed first-hand sketches, Part 1: Card Captor Sakura, The Joker and Homer Simpson:

Hey, hey. It's alright. To be honest, Sakura looks aight. Homer is great in the alternate outfit (though the choice of Excel Excel is... uh...), but it's Joker that steals the show.
For part 3, you should have Cosette and Suited Mimi Tachikawa. But, that's me.
Now, MechaniX, how's Klapson "Dorado" Laredo Kompson?
EDIT: D'oh! I said Cosette instead of Sakura. Maybe I'm obsessed with my idea for Part 3 too much.

Inking... Yeah, I'll do something of that in the few next days. Meanwhile, here's another pencil sketch I had left, a 4-panel strip. Definitely not in regular MUGEN continuity!
Skuld and Keiichi get bitten by the Superdickery bug! :D
http://s52.photobucket.com/albums/g10/NapoleonDeCheese/?action=view¤t=4-KOMA.jpg
Okay, here, I definitely hated how the last panel turned out, and in the inking I really need to work on Keiichi, especially his eyes... to me, a character's personality shines mainly through the eyes and expression... That, and I definitely need to improve in the word balloon lettering as well.
But I like Skuld in panel 3 a lot.

Dorado and Mel are truely the hardest characters to draw, IMO. That's because they are part-reptile, I believe.
However, I believe you can do it. If you can make Jack and Tiffany cool, you can make Dorado and Mel.
So, OM, can you do my request? If you don't know what it was, go a few posts ago.

First inked and colored piece! And I actually kinda like how did this one turn out, for a change! There are some minor problems, but I think it's a progress.
Bell and a bunch of Chibi-Jokers:

I like the Chibi-Joker who points and laughs the best of all of them. But mostly, I like how did Bell turn out.
OTOH, my lettering is still awful.
Alright, here's Mel! Gave it my best shot, this is my first try at drawing Anthro art!

BTW, what are your next few sketches? So we could at least know what are you going to draw next and how long the request queue is. Cause I'd like you to draw the original 4 Powerpuff girls (Blossom, Buttercup, Bubbles, Bunny) if you have the time.

A bit out of role, here, but here's a fight that really, really, REALLY needs to be done some time later in the tournament:
The Fight That Sanity Wanted Nothing To Do With: Team Wacky Hijinx (Bobobo-bo Bobo-bo, Slappy Squirrel, Puni Puny Poemi, Daffy Duck) vs Team ACROSS (Excel Excel, DeeDee, Mihoshi, Cosette)
WHats the VS lineup like, I can take a match.

Well, I usually do the drawings fast, in the span of a night or two. That's partially why they don't look so good compared to T51R's, which take a little more to get finished... :o
Another thing I have noticed is, the Photobucket enlarges my images when they go there, and that makes the mistakes to look more glaring (that's why normally comic artists do make the drawings on a larger scale, then fit them down to a smaller page's scale. Doing the reverse thing often only makes the art to look worse).
Next to this, I'd like to take some more time on the next piece so it comes better. It's kinda hard to me, since once I start with one, I want to finish it ASAP. I have far less patience when it comes to myself than when it comes to others. I have thought of another 4-panel strip, now in color, a pic of the Petomer amalgam for J Dog (it's hard to do, since the result has to end up looking like both Peter and Homer, without looking too odd, and there's a challenge to it), and the swimsuit group shot.
Sick as, OM, I'll do the Lina/Alphonse match first. I did some more research on Lina and I think I might be able to pull it off. If the last one came off alright I'll do the Lina/Ed one too unless GD wants that one.

Come to think of it, it would probably be best if MUGEN was an animated project. We have too many cartoony characters and anthropomorphs, and we'd wind up with one hell of a CGI budget. In that case, I'd vote to have Keifer Sutherland (AKA Jack Bauer from 24) do the voice-over for Alaniel.:D

Hell yeah bro, that's an awesome attitude to have! :)
Thanks for the layup!
Oh, if you are wondering about why I gave my characters their voices, here's why:
Dorado- He's an idiot. If Larry Miller (who did the voices of the womanizing XR and the boss from hell known as "The PHB") can layout a teenage voice, he'll have the spot.
Jack- I just like Cristopher Hayden as a good pick for him.
Tiffany- The characters she was based on was also voiced by Kerry Williams. Also, in the swimsuit poses, Tiffany's swimsuit should be pink and green to honor the origin.
Mel- Mel has this light, somewhat caring tone. But, then again, he gets incredibly furious, and that kinda defeats the guy who voiced Dilbert. In that case, I might have someone do his anger scenes.
And their music should focus on hip-hop, much like MechaniX's characters have the metal sounds. Most cast members of my series are Houstonite (a focal point in the industry) or near the area (of course, Mimi's in the project, but I have her "Urbanized" as exampled in the Urban Mimi arc. She's the only unoriginal character in the projects, but I'd add the Toei Animation copyright to it), and the music focuses on them.
Their music goes like this:
INTRO- T.I. featuring Mannie Fresh and Bun B "Front Back"
Jack's Theme- T.I. "24's"
Dorado's Theme- David Banner "Like a Pimp"
Tiffany's Theme- Mary J. Blige "Enough Cryin'"
Melvin's Theme- Anything by Sly and the Family Stones (the only non hip-hop theme)
Mimi's Theme- Avant "Four Minutes"
Zachary's Theme- Dem Franchize Boyz "Ridin Rims"
Love Theme- Ludacris "Splash Waterfalls"
Rage Theme- Chamillionaire "Ridin"
Closer- 2Pac (anything)

Vellinor- James Woods
Maybe, but . . . .I think either Johnny Depp or Jim Carrey would be suited to Vellinor's comedic role.
I'd also suggest Kate Beckinsale AKA "Underworld's Selena" for Zarabeth. As for Reese, I feel that she's a bit too...petite. Hell, at 5'2" (1.57m) she's only an inch taller than comics Wolverine...
Problem is, it would be too obvious to cast Beckinsale as yet ANOTHER vampire. Rachel Weiss might also be a good choice. As for Anzell -- another possible choice (for both voice work or live acting) might be Scarlett Johanson.
T.I.- 24's, Top Back, or What You Know?
RHCP- Califonication (after all, it' like a video game in the video)
Panic! at the Disco- I write Sins, not trageties
Dem Franchize Boyz- Ridin Rims
Snoop Doggy Dog- Where My Dogs At?
Wall of Voodoo- Mexican Radio
Interesting choices. I chose mine primarily because they reinforced the apocalyptic theme of Mugen, or else would have been great for action sequences (I was visualizing Mugen AMVs as I made the picks)
Nudoru: Segawa Mototaka, MOVE vocalist/rapper
Miso: Random people on the street for every line, in any language[subtitles for each line]
Kansai: Rob Zombie[siging voice w/distortions]
Kadachi: GACKT[speaking voice]
Rob Zombie as Kansai? I like!

...Jim Carrey...?
Jim "Edward Nigma/The Riddler" Carrey?! Everytime I see him, it's either a reprise of "Dumb and Dumber" or "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective". That, or he becomes a complete emo character ("Eternal Sunshine of the the Spotless Mind").
Why not Adam Sandler while you're at it?!
Johnny Depp is Vellinor. Period. After "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Carribean" series, there is no doubt in my mind as to how good he'll be as the cynical, wisecracking Vellinor.
Problem is, it would be too obvious to cast Beckinsale as yet ANOTHER vampire. Rachel Weiss might also be a good choice. As for Anzell -- another possible choice (for both voice work or live acting) might be Scarlett Johanson.
Okay, has good potential. Better than Reese.

Uh... Carrey?

I chose those either to suit the characters (and three have been mentioned anyways in the fiction).

Would this be normal Zombie or "Ratfinks, Suicide Tanks, and Cannibal Girls" Zombie?
Also, I have decided either Miller or Gordon Hunt (who did the voice of Wally. To me, the voice of Dorado is slightly nasaly and, in some parts, whiny, which is another turn-off of what is supposed to be a juggernaut) for Dorado's vocals.
Another thing I have thought of was a Mugen RPG. It's based off the end of the tournament, but every single member in and around the area is transported to a fantasy world instead of the final battle happening. It would focus on every aspect of fiction. I have imagined one area being a disorted castle complete with irregular-looking characters. This is called "SicAstle" (an amagram of "sick", based of the style of the characters in this castle, and "castle"), and the leaders of this area are Beavis and Butt-Head. I figured that the zones' major boss being the Great Cornholio! This area was thought of having Dorado (at the time, a lone wolf) raiding the place, saying "I want my MTV" (the disorted characters here are mostly from MTV and MTV2's animated shows).
The second area I thought of was a desert. Not original, but this leads to a fortress that is a play on the Mysadian Tower from Final Fantasy II. At the end of the desert leads to an encounter with a knight. Now, I drew a comic (and completed it!) a while back. The comic was VERY crude, and sketched, but it featured Dorado battling the very same knight here (though both will look a LOT better this time around). The knight is another character from MyAdventureGame.com, and his name is Mattias.
That's just my imagination run amock, though.

That happens a lot when I scanned my artwork; it shows unerased smudges and gaps.
I have done Petomer several times, and I figured my way around him.
Here's what Petomer "looks" like:
Head- Homer
Hair- Peter
Eyes- Peter
Nose- Homer
Ears- Homer
Shirt- Peter (but should have two emblems in the style of Zudomon on the shoulders, one showing a cooling tower, and the other showing a clam. This is optional)
Arms- Peter
Hands- Homer
Pants- Homer
Shoes- Homer
Intellegence- Peter
Skin Color- Homer
Voice- Both at the same time
Fusion Dance- Actually, I figured a sumo slam oughta fuse them just fine
Hope that helps a bit. Although it's mostly Homer-dominated, I really don't think Peter has that much to offer in the fusion department in the name of looks, but he'd dominate the brains.
Would this be normal Zombie or "Ratfinks, Suicide Tanks, and Cannibal Girls" Zombie?
Neither; it's Two-lane Blacktop Rob Zombie. He uses plenty of distortions for that one, and I think it's pretty fitting for Kansai because that voice would sound pretty good when running around while set on fire.:D

...or have himself wedged up a dragon's butt. Oh, how's the Houston/NODES crossover pic?
Hehehe. Now your suffering and hair-pulling will begin, because you won't improve if others keep drawing for you. So, now I will make you this template:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/MechaniX_034/Untitled-1.jpg
Now you must:
-Save this file
-Take to image editing program
-Enlarge to A4 and print as A4. You can also print off as A3 to practice drawing bigger.
-Trace off on your own paper so as to not damage the template for making a final piece, or you just print a few and draw on them directly for good practice[this is better since you will then learn the muscles by instinct]
Hehehhe now you will learn the basic poses first: front-on and side-on! This is the template for Jack BTW, so practice drawing him well. The template for udoru is different because he is more heavily built in the shoulders and arms, so practice Jack because Jack is proportionally correct first.
Now you will really improve! Because you are going to draw this picture! Let me know the difficulties, and I'll help you with them. :evilsmile
When you can draw these basic poses well, I'll make you some more complex 'action' poses, but without perspective and foreshortening.

And now for Vellinor's Mad Science Division, the counterpart to Hild's own science division. Unlike the rest of Vellinor's servants, their role is strictly that of scientific research and the creation of weapons to be used against Vellinor's enemies. Each of them was chosen for their scientific genius and/or insanity (Vellinor always appreciates irrational people)
Royal Pain- I decided to make Royal Pain -- the main villain from Sky High -- one of the members of the science division after I saw that movie. While on the one hand, Gwen/Royal Pain is an over-the-top, cheesy villain, it can't be denied that she has plenty of scientific intellect (her crowning achievement, the Pacifier, is a device that can turn someone into an infant). This is coupled with her technopathy power, which enables her to interface with and control virtually any kind of technology. These factors mean that Royal Pain is not someone to be underestimated.
Ulysses Klaw- since Dr. Doom was taken, and my knowledge of DC supergeniuses is shady at best, I decided to pick Dr. Ulysses Klaw as the second member of the science division. A regular enemy of the Fantastic Four, Avengers and Black Panther, Klaw can not only generate hypersonic sound waves to the point that he can even manipulate them to create relatively solid objects, but he is also, of course, a bona fide scientific genius.
The Red Ghost-Dr. Ivan Kragoff is the third member of the science division. Again, he is a scientific genius, though Vellinor also no doubt chose him because he was immensely amused by the idea of a man with talking monkey assistants. Rest assured, we will see more of the Red Ghost's "comrades" in future.
Desty Nova- the unspoken head of the science division, the mad genius Desty Nova is the arch-enemy of Battle Angel Alita. In Nova's case, the line between madness and genius is a fine one indeed, as he is quite possibly one of the most brilliant scientists in anime/manga after Washu, with creations ranging from nanotech to soul-bound monsters like Den and Zappan, and even the psyche-trapping Ouraboros program. I chose Nova, however, not only as a foil to Alita and as a means to introduce a new fighter that he created, but also because his character intrigues me: he obsesses with unlocking the secrets of human karma, to determine whether we control our own destiny or if we are simply automatons carrying out a predetermined or merely instinctive role. Part of the reason for this obsession is the fact that he was the one who first discovered the truth behind his native utopian sky-city of Tiphares -- that, in infancy, every Tipharean citizen has their brain replaced with a microchip, their personality and characteristics having been predetermined before then. Desty Nova is, for all intents and purposes, an ambiguous character: on the one hand, he will abduct and experiment on innocent people, turning them into stitched-up, fleshy abberations moaning for death, simply to satisfy his curiosity; on the other hand, however, he is known to keep any promises he makes, and has even been known to aid Alita frequently in the Last Order series. Expect Nova to play a significant role in the ending of Mugen, and for his Alita-clone assistants Elf and Zwolf to make an appearance.

Okay. I can't wait to see the only other non-original character NODE-ified by you. It'll look cool, I believe.

Drawing the initial form is very easy, after a while you will also be able to generate it very quickly when you get used to drawing bodies in line only. This line drawing is the template you use for the panel shot, so it must be in perspecive[leave it for later though]
Belldandy's outfit is pretty hard; in the A!MG movie they premiered a battlesuit[skin tight white lower with the scarf thingy, and a semi-cape] so to keep things sensible it would be best to build on that. [Combat Drive is a piggyback program, so it should look less fragile and better suited to hand-to-hand fighting + taking impact] Problem is I can't splice her suit with the NODES armour because it would be too out of character.[NODES armour is for pure combat, without any ceremonial aspects hence why Nudoru and Kansai look like they're built for only their purpose, which they are] There are also visual cues that need to stay where they are.

The Authors' Teams:
Team Mercenary: They handle the assassinations and sneak attacks on others. Their lineup is made up of Deathstroke the Terminator from DC Comics, Baby Bonnie Hood from Darkstalkers, Naga the White Serpent from the Slayers OVAs and movies, and Deadpool from Marvel Comics.
Scientific Team: They design machinery and weaponry for the Authors, and are currently working on weapons to stop the God-Killer, a daunting task on itself. Their leader is Alexander Luthor from Earth-3. Not the Infinity Crisis villain, but his father, the last hero left a the alternate Earth plagued by the Crime Syndicate of Amerika, and heroic counterpart to Lex Luthor. Other members include Bulma Briefs from Dragon Ball Z, Professor Hubert Farnsworth from Futurama, Professor Frink from The Simpsons, Professor Emil Hamilton from the Superman mythos, Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius, and even Spider-Man's nemesis Otto Octavius, Dr. Octopus!
Search Team: They are charged with the task of hunting for shards of the Gem of Evermere. Their lineup includes Nami the thief from One Piece, Miroku the lecherous monk from InuYasha, Skinner the Invisible Man from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (movie version, the comics had the much more untrustworthy and evil Griffith as the Invisible Man instead), and Tomoyo Daidouji from the all-kinds-of-wrong-and-twisted Tomoyo42's Room webcomic.
Hint: You can wait for a Tomoyo vs. Cosette Sara battle in the near future, BTW.
Sabotage Team: Not fully introduced yet, would include Quicksilver (who is looking for his sister Wanda, now slaved by Vellinor), Usopp from One Piece, Faust and his Saber Dolls from Saber Marionette J, and Flash's nemesis Captain Cold, whom the Authors have promised they will resurrect his dear sister Lisa (aka the villainess Glden Glider) if he works for them.
Attack Team: The shock team intended for the biggest attacks, and the Authors' private army, includes Superman's enemy Mongul (who has been recruited due to reasons to be revealed later), the Digidestined from Digimon 02 (Davis, Yolei, Ken, Cody, and the older TK and Kari), Sango and Kirara from InuYasha, Mr. Hyde from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Felicia and Jon Talbain from Darkstalkers, Makoto Rindou from Street Fighter III, Mousse from Ranma 1/2, the Daintenzin from Excel Saga (Matsa, Iwata, Watanabe, Sumiyoshi, and the Ropponmatsus 1 and 2) and Piccolo from DBZ acting as their defacto leader. They won't be acting until the war reaches a really high point, but look for a few surprises then!

Here are some characters I'm going to introduce in a short time (or already done so):
Team Comic Strip- It's actually 5 comics.
Get Fuzzy- The Wilco household invades the tournament, and will be the most prominent one of the five. Bucky Katt is an arrogant, obnoxious feline who is completely imbecilic. Satchel is the opposite; kind, and sweet. But he is oblivious and fails to get things. Rob is the guy who keeps things straight.
Pearls Before Swine- It consists of four, poorly-drawn, but plot-rich, characters. Rat is the "leader" and is merciless. Pig is the dumbest animal in the world, and can even battle for the dumbest thing of all time. Zebra tries to have his group have crocodiles and (to lesser extent) lions truce with them... but it fails easily. However, he can outwit the Zeeba Zeeba Eata crocs, who came along. Goat is the intellectual one of them all.
Garfield- Just the fat cat and Odie. In actuallity, don't see them often. Expect Rat (ala Pastis) to belittle the two.
Monty- The pathetic nerd (not Dilbert), Monty, Mr. Pi, and Fleshy. Monty is the character who created the original focal point of the strip when it was "Robotman". The other two live with him.
Calvin & Hobbes- No intro for them. Calvin is the six-year old, and Hobbes is the stuffed tiger. However, because of the way it works around here, Hobbes is alive the whole time.
Dr. Rivermen
An insane and bitter scientist, Rivermen was based off a promotion by the Houston Aeros. He and Dr. Clayton Forrester have a history of feuding. But, when is shot by Forrester, he agrees to help him out in exchange for life. His actual name is Doctor Jules Orion. He is a master of medicine and robotics.
Zachary Froppe
Jack and Dorado's friend back in Houston, Zach is drawn into automobiles and has built over 35 tricked-out vehicles. Also leadfooted, he has won many styles of street races, legal and otherwise.
Proto for Belldandy's MUGEN armour:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/MechaniX_034/MUGENBell.jpg
Had to build it from the A!MG movie battlesuit and leave the "sawteeth" where they were, since they're pretty much unique to the character. Also added more "sawteeth" to make the suit look a bit more agressive since the CD does bring out the worst in her[ie she starts using a good deal of highly devastating attacks]
Looking at it again, the vertical sawline on the corset should be moved to the hem to flow with the ones on the scarf thingy.

Alright, I got another character introduced, and I've finally found his spot:
MechaDorado!
Long before I learned that mecha meant "Machine" in Japanese, I have created MechaDorados as the anthesis of Dorado and his predicessors. There have been 17 (not joking) versions that I have thought of my whole life. Some were more durable than others, but all of them were eventaully made to be sent to the scrap heap in any way.
Here are the common traits for a MechaDorado (or a MechaKlap):
All MechaDorados use missle launchers as their primary source of attack
All MechaDorados have an easily manuveral system in the form of transformation or flight
All MechaDorados can morph into another form in case part of them is destroyed
Most, not all, MechaDorados look like metallic versions of Dorado. 1090 is the exception; he is a disproportioned, oversized, malcontent version of the idiotic Klapson Kompson
1090 is the latest (and probably the best) version I have ever made. For one thing, he has a personality, compared to the previous versions, which were all mere drones. Of course, that makes him a knucklebeak, for even a machine must be smart.
In actuallity, MechaDorado was going to look like Dorado, but thats when I got tips from MechaniX. He'll look incomplete; there will be two faces on his head (one face covers his right "eye" on his current face), and a third arm that resembles Dorado's old version of Behemoth Slash will protrude from his back.
When the previous version of MechaDorado was destroyed in a text game I made, he was secretly rebuilt. However, he redesigned himself drastically, and he fought Mel in the next major game I made called "The Island (http://www.myadventuregame.com/Story/The_Island.aspx)". The game is incomplete, and features pre-Mugen versions of my cast. But you should be able to fight 1090.
Originally, 1090 was supposed to be built by Forrester, but instead is the weapon of choice by Jules Orion (Dr. Rivermen). I plan on having him transform into an airship similar to Ark from Final Fantasy IX.
Expect both flesh and metallic versions to collide soon. And if 1090 goes down (and is destined to), another version will fill in for him. But, I won't count out him permanantly.

Yer, thats the one I based the second suit off of, but got rid of anything free-hanging for reasons of HTH fighting[people like Kazuma or any other experienced fighter would have a field day with those; as in grab them and turn her into a mace. The scarf for mine works a bit like Rose's, but is more for defense.] I'm still trying for the redesign, but meh the character style seems to be set in stone.
I'm gonna try an exercise in reduction and see what happens...
Did a bit of a rework for her pose:

Hope its better, at least.:D And yes, I was watching Hokuto No Ken while drawing.:p

Okay, now that's more like it...even though the face is now completely unlike Belldandy...
*ahem*
The legs are now synchronised with the rest of the body. In the previous one, I had the odd feeling that the torso and legs were pointing in entirely different directions.
I tried drawing her expression in a different way; we dont see her calm and commited when it comes to fighting so I went and tried that. You should have seen the prep sketch but, I'm not kidding she looked a lot in the face like RAOH!

Say, MechaniX, what are the upcoming characters, now that you've done Belldandy? Well, after Unsealed Belldandy, that is?

Actually, he had said Rei Fifteen would be next.
And I must say I kinda liked the first Belldandy (and the Belldandy sketch) better than this last one... :o

Well, not really. Your list seems pretty comprehensive.
Just one thing; could you do a side-by-side of Chaos Sakura and normal Sakura? Cause that would just be a classic.
And if you feel like it, you can make Shin Hokuto no Bell look like Rao. She's just going to be plain badass that way...:D :evilsmile

Yeah. You kinda missed Dr. Rivermen & Zachary Froppe (but you don't have to do them if you don't want to). But I like the list. And with the NODESweb preview, should it have the NODES along with the other NODEified characters?

No, NODESweb preview will be an except from the upcoming webcomic. I won't be pulling a Bleedman and reworking characters; NODESweb is standalone and fully original unless spoofs prove funnier. :D
However, you can apply for fanchars[FULLY ORIGINAL ONLY] to appear; your copyright and intellectual property authorisation will be required though.[This will be much later]

Okay, okay, okay. I'm sorry.
I'll let you use some of my characters (which, I'll explain later as well).

Kadachi looks cool, unmasked, but Kei XV looks as if she is on drugs. And that's what makes the drawing funny.

Well, she's supposed to be totally, utterly nuts and loony. So the art gets that very right.

According to OM, she's supposed to be smiling like a loon.:D Kadachi doesn't have a mask, usually some straps that go over his face but here I leave them out. OM, I reckon they look pretty good together hey?:D

Oh. I thought the straps were a mask.
So, who's next? I really think you oughta try Jules, if that's alright.

I'll go by the list that was put up; authors will be expect the sequence to be followed.
So now you can go practice your drawing even more. Draw him yourself; Jim Lee and Joe Quesada didn't get that damn good by asking ppl to draw for them. :p Remember, please send me what you have drawn so we can look at it and see how to improve.

I know, I know. I've been drawing the dude a lot (to be honest, I struggle to understand why the hell does he have a monocle. I drew him twice with glasses). I just wanted to see how you could handle him. You'll like my art when once I scan it. It won't be as even as yours (I'll try, but no two artists are the same; even you should know), but you will enjoy it.
Here's the funny thing: For Rivermen's background, I'm planning on having the same words over and over again as with Belldandy, except the repeated words being "This Tournament's a haven for losers! They're all pathetic, compared to the likes of me!"*
*As you can see, he has this giant ego issue, even though I'll satire him as all-talk and little action.
I plan on making my versions of my characters, and giving them template styles similar to yours. But, first, I gotta practice. And that's a good thing, you know.
Come August, you shall see.

Yeah, she looks more like a druggy than like a Joker clone. She still looks sufficiently crazy (and creepy), though, so it still kinda works.

You know, I agree with J Dog and LoNC here. Her eyes just seem wild, not homocidally insane. For one thing, animated Joker seems menacing, and he's nowhere near as goofy-looking as Rei XV.
One thing I'd suggest is to make the eyes look "angry" - you know, have the eyebrows slant downwards to the middle. Or you can have her eyes peering from under the shade of her hair. Or you can do another cliche and give her nice fangs. Better yet, a few splotches of blood over her face and dress, and she'll look like Tomoyo42 on her "more creative" days...
...
Then again, just looking ast her for a while gives me the creeps. I guess the sketch was so out-of-context that Rei XV appeared stoned rather than looney. I'm sure that in a good context, she'd scare the crap out of Black Mage...
Aight. lemme try this again. Pour on the critiques fellas, thats one of the best ways to get better.:evilsmile

Maybe she could work better with an expression like that, but put next to 'Daddy' Joker? He would have that sharp, smart evil glint in his eyes and the astute wicked smile while Rei is just grinning dumbly, happy to be near him, kinda Harley Quinn-like. Although I have thought it so Rei is really quite smart, it's just she acts goofy often, pretty much like Joker himself has been so far in MUGEN, so they'll look the deadlier when their real cruelty moments come.
And speaking about Harley, the truth about Rei XV's origin as a character was, at the start, Harley herself was going to play that role. I actually was going to have Joker himself, when he was back at his Emperor stage and powerful enough to play in the big leagues of power, becoming jealous every divine-like entity but him had an Angel. Then he killed Harley and used her spirit as his guardian Angel. Yeah, I know, horribly creepy, but this ain't Gandhi here. However, I later decided to go with another rute for Harley's future in MUGEN, and so I spared her. :) Rei XV was written on her place.

You know, OM, I noticed that you started the idea of cloning Keima by having Hild revive both Krizalid and Dr. Warren. Of course, that also meant that they were going to create an army of Kyo Kusanagi and Spider-Man clones too :D What I want to know was if I didn't throw in Dr. Hojo (from FFVII) and Dr. Gendo Ikari for laughs, would you have brought them in anyways?
Also, what are you going to do with all those clones? Hild's version of Attack of the Clones? I mean, you have JENOVA, Spider-clones, Kyo clones, Rei clones... or do you have something even more twisted hidden in the works?
