It seemed that it just stopped being published without notice.
Great read in my opinion...but cut short.

Anybody has any info as to what went down?
Was it cancelled abruptly and I missed it?
Thanks.

On hiatus due to scheduling disruptions. I believe it's because Jiminez has been working on Infinite Crisis.

I was actually going to ask about it.

How many issues were released thus far? And are they available anywhere?

Amazon has a listing for Otherworld 1, but no details, and I can't find anything at all on the Vertigo site.

Did Jimenez draw as well as write this one, 'cause on Amazon they listed somebody else as illustrator, but that sounds crazy. Who could Jimenez get that could be better than him?

Jiminez did breakdowns/pencils for sure, but may have had another inker. Don't always trust Amazon though, they constantly screw things up.

And Jiminez's pencils are complete crap on Otherworld. Crowded and muddled sequences.

Last I heard it was split into two "books" in order to provide Jimenez the opporunity to work on Infinite Crisis, his dream job as such a huge fan of Perez and the original CoIE. The first book was to be 1-7, and the second would complete the rest of the 12 issues. I don't know if they were intending to start with a new number one or not, but the idea was that Jimenez's profile would certainly rise in the wake of IC and that should translate to better sales for Otherworld.

Has anybody heard when Otherworld is going to start back up?

Has anybody heard when Otherworld is going to start back up?

Bumping this so I don't start another thread. The question is still the same, though.

I looked around online about when new Otherworld issues would be released and couldn't find anything conclusive, other than it was on hiatus as opposed to cancelled, which is promising. I really enjoyed issues 1-7 and would like to see the story completed. Always get annoyed when a series bites the dust midstream before the story is over (such as Trigger, for instance).

They might be waiting for Jiminez to finish the five issues first, just so it can be monthly.

Is Infinite Crisis over yet?

If not, then we shouldn't even be wondering about Otherworld yet, 'cause there'll still be a wait.

If it is over, then I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Personally I wasn't that excited by the first 7 issues - the art was good, but not Jiminez's best, and as far as storytelling goes... well, you can tell he's an artist by trade.
