I posted this on Alvaro's comic anime/manga forum, but haven't gotten any responses so far. Thought I'd try my luck here.

I'm looking for any kind of online or printed resources about the publication of Lone Wolf and Cub, the comic not the films. Any interviews with the creators, its influence on culture, or sites with info on how it was originally published and its subsequent printings in America would be helpful. I've found info on Wikipedia, but I tend to be skeptical about the facts I find there. In part, this is for a future academic project, and in part just because I love the series and am curious about its origins.

Thanks!

dunno about interviews, have you read any of Frank Miller's comments on "Lone Wolf and Cub" and how it influenced him? I don't have sources or anything useful for bibliographical purposes. but I DO know that Miller illustrated the covers for the earlier single-issue translations of LWAC.

this is a start. look up some interviews with Ryoichi Ikegami (who worked with Koike on other projects, like "Crying Freeman") and you could come up with some useful 'subsidiary information'. I've got some weblinks that might help you out. but that's all I can come up with...

Very cool, thank you very much.

No, I haven't read the specific interviews with Frank Miller, but yeah I have heard that it was a big influence on his work.
