Is this because Warren Ellis is overextending himself and writing way too much or because he doesn't know how to end the series or because of John Cassaday's art?

The series is done, writing-wise. There are either three or four issues left, and when they start to come out, Ellis had said they will come out one month after another until they're done. When that will kick off, however, keeps being pushed back.

If long delays are the price we have to pay for John Cassaday's beautiful art, then so be it. I would rather have the book be late than have anyone else doing the pencils.

Same thing goes double for any Brian Hitch book.

I'm guessing that the delays are due to Cassaday's artwork, especially since there have also been numerous delays for Astonishing X-Men.

I heard Nazi Dinosaurs were to blame. The Jurassic Reich has been rather boisterous this year, so Ellis and Cassaday may have been busy putting out fires, as it were, in South America.

...

It's all right there, just read Planetary #24 backwards.

I think it has a bit to do with Marvel moving up the return of Astonishing X-Men, Cassaday doing a lot of covers recently and his job as the art director for the new Lone Ranger series...

I think it started because Ellis got real sick for a while, and the only book he had coming out was Transmetropolitan.

Cassady probably need some dosh so he went and got some work at Marvel, so now they are releasing the books around his schedule.

WARREN ELLIS

Comps of PLANETARY 25 arrived
today, so I'm assuming it's out on
Wednesday. You'll know it by its
Russian propaganda-poster style
cover. The episode ties up a couple
more things and introduces a twist.

That may totally screw up my schedule for the week.

ME

JONES #6 arrived in the post this
morning. That means it'll be out
next week, I guess. And since
PLANETARY 25 didn't come out this
week, I guess that'll be next week
too.

..or the week after that
