I'm not drinking any FN Merlot. Just kidding around with you btw, I recognized your name from the Bendis Board. Welcome.

Whew! I thought from the thread title you meant "drinking them TOGETHER, as in MIXED." Yuk. That'd be TERRIBLE! *blak blak spits out tongue*

I have drunk Guiness and champagne mixed though.
Can't stand champagne.

Just saw your location.
Sweet! Another cheesehead to replace the newly-Floridized Dr. H.

Wa-hey there! Cool! You're in Florida now? Did you move there permanently, or just vacationing there?

Nope, not me, but another member Dr. H(I refuse to attempt to spell out his name) just moved down there from Madison. I'm in Milwaukee.

Ahhhh, okay; I thought you meant Dr. H as yourself (since your username starts with H). :o Ironically me and my girlfriend were just down in Milwaukee last weekend to meet up with some people who post on the Brian Michael Bendis board; we went to Major Goolsby's by the Bradley Center and then to a lounge bar called At Random. One of the guys who was with us is traveling from Virginia to Seattle and he made Milwaukee as one of his stops in his cross-country journey. It was a lot of fun hanging out that night.

By the way, what LCS do you go to in Milwaukee?

I go to a place called LOST WORLD OF WONDERS and it's actually in West Allis on 69th & Oklahoma. It's owned by a geek in his 20s and it's huge (5,000 sq ft).

EDIT:
The only thing that bugs me a bit is that they immediately pull all rare variants and mark them up. It's like pre-pulling the foil cards out of a pack of baseball cards and selling them seperately to make more of a profit. It totally removes the thrill of finding them on your own.

I LOVE Lost World of Wonders. Chad's my favorite guy there, I could spend all day just shooting the breeze with him; he's such a funny dude. Did a signing there too when the first issue of my comic came out; they may still have a copy or two left of #1 on their shelves (next to all the other goth comics like Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and other SLG stuff).
That sucks that they mark up the variants right away, though.

That's cool, our paths may have crossed once or twice. I'm actually heading there on my way home today. Maybe I'll pick up a copy of your book while I'm there.

Sweet! Next time I'm down there I'll let you know, maybe we can drink coffee and talk comics sometime.
And if they're out of any School: A Ghost Story issues there's a retailers page (http://www.deftoons.com/retailers.html) where they can order more copies (via paypal).
Yeah, Lost World of Wonders is great place. They have a much better selection than the shops around my area. Everytime I'm there I wind up dropping a lot of dollars.
