White Castle all the way. Especially chicken burgers.

And in second comes Taco Bell. But it's a far second.

Either Mcdonalds or Taco Bell, say what you want about them, it doesn stop them from being Tasty as F*kk.

Depends, what exactly are you counting as fast food? And how regional can the place be? Is it fast food if they only have one location?

Either way, whether you know it or not, In N Out owns your soul. Although I have trouble of thinking of it as fast. You can sit in that drive thru forever.

In N Out is so good that when I have relatives come back from California I have them bring me some. Even cold it owns Wendy's, Burger King, etc.

I went from eating it once a week to none at all when I moved. I was going through withdrawls. I was like that crackhead chick on Boy N the Hood going door to door. 'Hey you got a Double Double? Just a bite? Man, I will SUCK YO DICK."

Chipotle is really good, but I don't know if it is technically considered fast food. I forget the name for it, but it's considered the step inbetween fast food and casual dining.

Right up there with In N Out is Tommies. Although Tommies is an interesting phenomenon. It's not so much that the food is good, because it's borderline bad, it's just so sloppy, messy, and there's so damn much of it, you can't help but love it. Everything in that place is smothered with chili. There's chili in the milkshakes.

Taco Bell (mosty bang for your chedda)
Jack in the Box (Ultimate Cheeseburger!)

They call it "fast-casual" on their site. I walk in, order, and I'm out in five minutes or less. That's pretty fast. I don't understand what's "casual" about it compared to White Castle, for example.

It's probably more because they want to market themselves as something different than McDonalds. They don't want to be lumped into the same catagory. I think a lot of it is just the lack of mass production. No little burger boxes. And no drive thru windows.

What-A-Burger is an amazing restaurant. Best footlongs in the world.

Gotta be either White Castles or Wendy's (if god wanted some chicken nuggets, that's where he'd go).

Third is KFC. If I'm a stereotype than I'm a stereotype, but I love fried chicken.

Of the chains you Yankees are familiar with, probably Subway.

I doubt they operate in the US and I don't know if they qualify as fast food but I have much love for Suncrane and Jackpot Noodles.

Arby's is the best.

McDonald's is the most important.

Taco Bell is the best value.

I could live without Arby's and Taco Bell though.

Why? Because I eat on the run alot and you can't eat Arby's or Taco Bell while you are driving, too messy.

Considering the one I usually go to on Fridays/Saturday night has a line of cars, I kid you not around 50-60 long during the afternoon-night every weekend, it probably wouldn't be the best thing for New York.

If you are ever in socal though, please do your tastebuds a favor, and indulge. Heck, I'm not even going to tell you about the goodness of the "Secret Menu". It's all about small steps so your tastebuds aren't overloaded.

This thread reminds me of the obese guy doing his Forrest Gump run across America (http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,,1729065,00.html). Go, fat man, go! Don't listen to the others!

Vaught's trip has revealed to him the extent of America's subservience to cars and fast food. Walking in America is not easy: there are few pavements. Nor is healthy eating. On the first 19 miles of his walk Vaught passed 24 fast-food restaurants and one grocery shop. 'What are they trying to tell us?' he said. 'America should be the best place in the world to eat food. Instead it is the worst.'

This girl I used to go out with often craved In-N-Out three times a day. For some, that's way too much In-N-Out.

Not me, though. I never complained.

His trip has had its low moments. He has stress fractures in both feet. In New Mexico he was nearly bitten by a cobra, which he shot before it struck him. But Vaught's trip has revealed to him the extent of America's subservience to cars and fast food. Walking in America is not easy: there are few pavements. Nor is healthy eating. non-stealth edit:
I completely forgot the thread topic.

posing a question: ya think they planned it out a long, long time ago to fill our lives with so mush stress and busy-busy that we'd become dependent on such trash because "who has time to cook?" ?

I for one at least got your joke the first time and I enjoyed it. :)
Here's my commentary:

McDonalds
- For some reason on a summer day after cutting the grass, nothing tastes better to me than a Quarter-pounder w/ cheese, large fry, and a tall ice-cold Coke. McDonalds is Americana and feels like home when you eat it. Also easy to eat while driving. Their chicken products have always been crap though.

Burger King
- Scottie Pippen to McDonalds' Michael Jordan. A broiled alternative with the king of the big sloppy burger, The Whopper. Always has had the best fish sandwiches.

Arby's
- A great alternative to burgers, and the only fast-food place where you can get jalepeno poppers, a BIG plus in my book.

Wendy's
- Freshly made burgers, the BEST chicken sandwiches, thick fries, frosties, and chili. The best of the drive-thru eateries bar-none.

Taco Bell
- When you're under the influence of a substance, nothing beats it.

Quiznos
- The best of the sub places. The home of maybe the 2 best sandwiches I've ever had at a chain restaurant: the Chicken Carbonara and their new spectacular Prime Rib sub.

Panera
- A classy joint with great sandwiches, pastries, soups, salads and bagels.

Chipotle
- Made for stoners, by stoners. Excellent burritos, but I actually prefer Qdoba.

And no, I'm NOT 300 lbs.

I really like burgers, so as far as fast food goes in my area, I'm going with Hardeys. Thickburgers are pretty good. Most of the time though, I'll step into Hooters or some other resturant like that if I want a good burger though. Hooters...burgers....I think I know what I'm doing for lunch today.

You guys have clearly never been to a fast food place in the UK, where they've taken the concepts of both "fast" and "food" and lost both of them.

I had to wait fifteen minutes for a Big Mac in our local MaccyD's drive through this weekend. And when I got it, it was bloody cold.

Chipotle and Subway are my favorite national fast food chains. Chipotle's burritos are freaking huge and soooo good, and I love Subway's meatball subs; I decorate it with onions, green peppers, banana peppers and jalapenos so I have THE greatest breath in the world after I eat that.

There's a local fast food chain in my area called Tom's Drive-In that's got some great burgers. Their pizza burgers are fantastic.

My favorite fast food restaurant is Wendy's. Honorable mention to Arby's.

On a bit of a tangent, guess which fast food chain has more legal disputes between the corporation and franchisors than any other?

Weirdly enough, Subway. They've had more legal disputes from the people buying their franchises than Wendy's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell & McDonald's combined.

Depends on what I'm in the mood for.

Burgers- FatBurger. Something about their burgers that makes it so kick ass.
Hon Mention: In n' Out

Chicken- Popeyes. Loves me the ghetto chicken.
Hon Mention: Dinah's. But my love goes out to Pioneer Chicken (where art thou?)

Mexican- La Salsa. Their Burrito Ultimo (with black beans) is tops.
Hon Mention: Rubio's and Sharkey's (yes, there's still one in LA)

Sandwiches- Portillo's. Whenever I visit my folks in Chicago, I have to eat there for their hot beef subs with spicy peppers. Probably the best sandwich place.
Hon Mention: Subway....decent but filling.

HotDogs- Cupid's. Better than the overrated famous Pink's HotDogs..
Hon Mention: Oki Dog (you have to try one to experience it)
