What if we sent a Werewolf on a space mission to the Moon? What would happen? Would he be a Werewolf all the time?

Yes.
Glad I could help.

Yes, but he'd be a Man-Wolf not a werewolf.

Remember children: No question is so stupid it hasn't been answered in comics.
This question was addressed in Scud: The Disposable Assassin.
The answer: It would super-evolve into a planet-consuming sentient black hole.

Marvel already tackled this question back in the 70s, and Stewart is old enough that maybe he sort of remembers it.

I thought John Jameson didn't become Man-Wolf until after he returned from the moon with the Moonstone. Am I mistaken?

I think he was exiled to the moon or something, at some point. I dunno.

When was Man-Wolf on Deep Space Nine? Or was that Worf?

I looked it up. He was exiled to the Other Realm (origin point of the Moonstone) while investigating a communications blackout on a space station. There he was able to retain his intelligence in Man-Wolf form and was known as Stargod.
As far as I can tell, he never actually went to the moon while he was Man-Wolf.

Enough people, he's not talking about what would happen to a werewolf in comic books, or some other silly fictional endeavor, but in real life. Can we please be serious for just a second?

Well, in real life I believe a werewolf on the moon would transform into an unstoppable super-werewolf.
Since there's no one else on the moon and he would turn back into an ordinary werewolf upon leaving, the super-werewolf would pose no serious threat to humanity.

He would be a dead werewolf.. since there is no air or atmosphere there, he would be dead.

Unstoppale super-werewolves need no air! Air is for the weak!

Something's always bugged me a bit about werewolves. Does the 'full moon' bit require the moon to be the main light source? What would happen if it was one of those times were you can see the moon in the middle of the day, and it was full?

Right now folks are looking at you the way they used to look at me when I'd ask "the wrong" questions in Sunday School.

Well, tell those people to turn their webcams on! I can't see them over the internet.
I think it HIGHLY depends on which clan the werewolf is from. I mean those Black Spiral Dancers can live pretty much anywhere.

I loved those Stargod issues. Nice artwork by George Perez, with some fun fantasy action.
The main villain, Arisen Tyrk, later showed up as an odd Defenders character, Professor Harrison Turk. If memory serves, there was a delightful scene at the movie theater, where he was smoking a pipe. Valkyrie was offended by his smoke and his disregard for the non-smoking signs, so she broke his pipe.

Considering moonlight is nothing but a reflection of sunlight off of the moon, would a mirror have the same effect?

I believe it has more to do with the moon's proximity than it's light.
I believe.

I recall seeing (or reading) somewhere that the level of light reflected off the Earth would essentially control the effects of the transformation rather than any factors of the moon itself.
And wasn't Man-Wolf's transformation caused by that stone on his neck?

The blog I sort of kind of write for had to tackle (http://goodcomics.blogspot.com/2006/03/once-again-comics-are-too-cutting-edge.html) this hard hitting issue too. Or shill a Joe Casey GN and give me a chance to represent for Man Wolf, I'm not sure. I'm shilling for us now, so I think the circle's closed.

Didn't Earth X show John Jameson on the moon in human form? And, IIRC, he transformed by the light of a full Earth...

If you send a werewolf into space, and he howls into the vaccuum, and a vaccuum doesn't carry sound... does he make a sound when he howls?
He would be a dead werewolf.. since there is no air or atmosphere there, he would be dead.
I know this reply is kind of late, but I was watching the daily show, and Jon Stewart thought of this: his portrayal of a werewolf on the moon had the werewolf in a full space suit, with a helmet, so that presumably, the werewolf can breathe on the moon.

According to my friend who is the local authority on Werewolves.
Real werewolves can change whenever they want to.
That should end the debate.

Yeah but the contour of the space suit is made for a man, I'm pretty sure if that person changes into a werewolf in the suit, he'd have a hard time moving around. Assuming that he just doesn't bust out of the space suit during or after the transformation.
