Kinda inspired by a Gamefaqs poll. What are some moments in video games that creeped you out, even if the game wasn't nessicarily a "horror" game?

Recently I've been playing Psychonauts, and found the hidden room in the "Milla's Dance Party" level..

SPOILERS
"It burns Milla." "Why did you let us die?" "You're all alone now, Milla,," Wow. That moment is such a change from the tone of the level, and gets creepier the longer you stay in the room.

Any others?

For a not quite horror game?

There's a scene in Primal, for the PS2. You're in a gothic renaissance style dimension, populated by this race of nosferatu looking things. (They weren't vampires though.) One of the plots to the particular area is that a bunch of nobles are missing. After wandering through the main castle, you eventually find... what's left of them anyway. There's about 8 of them, and their heads have been placed on spikes in a block formation in the center of a room. When you enter the room, you see the heads, but they don't start talking to you until you get close. Then, in vaguely British accents, a bunch of dismembered heads start arguing with each other and yelling at you.

Not really a scene, but wandering around in Resident Evil 0...in a bathroom, I think, when all of a sudden a SUPER ZOMBIE comes running in the door and kills me. :O! Needless to say, I had to change my undies.

Also, randomly walking around Romancing SaGa when all of a sudden, I get to a town that you can't leave without walking through this plain with FREAKIN' HUGE DINOSAUR MONSTERS roaming. :O! I was so scared cuz I hadn't saved in forever.

CLOCK TOWER

Whenever I'd hide in a bathroom stall, or attempt to escape on the elevator, only to hear those darn scissors...

thiers is this one part in resident evil nemisis, you're jill and you are just walking around a n empty hallway, you go down some stairs and at the bottom their is a window, nothing happens at first but the second time you near the window, freakin Nemisis jumps through the window with a huge bazuka and just starts firing missiles at you, but the part with him smashing the window just made me, pretty much poop myself, followed by some vomiting

another game moment that just creped the heck out of me, was the Thief-Deadly Shadows game, when you are to go into the abanded orphanage. it's not so much that their are zombies all over the place, it's the backround sounds- what sounds? - excaclty, it's so damn queit, all you hear is the wind or the low muffled groan of a nearby zombie, it scares me even more when the gost of the little girl wants the bottle of her blood DOWN IN THE BASEMENT!!!!! just the place i want to be right now(sarcasim) .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ........................ creepy

Remember the first time you played Silent Hill, and it went all other-worldly? The first time that radio static kicks in? i gotta tell you.... change of underpants time.

The first Max Payne game when he's drugged with Valkyr.

The sound of the baby crying, the flashbacks to the murders of his wife and child and following the bloody trails was just so messed up and unexpected.

My thoughts so far:

Pyschonauts: Yes, it has it' s appeal at being innocent.

But man does it ever have creepy moments.

The Milk Man. Sure there is no gore, but man. The whole fact that apparently everything is twisted. Secret agent robots, pretending to be normal, and killer girl scouts.. All ver ycurrreal like a nightmare.

Also Gloria's mental theatre.. Especially considering the fact it relifs some rough moment sof her life.. And the fac the rmom, jealous of GLoria commintss suicide.

And Milla yeah, she loved kids, worked at a orphanage, and trying to block off the past.. With her happy go luck tude.

Also "The World Shall Taste My Eggs' pretty much shows Oleanders deepest desire, lil guys like himself, via brian pwoer, frying the masse sin horrible genocide.

The Zombies, are in fact still pretty much human. Being forceful controled by the alien parasites and in great pain.

Ligh tone of fire, I dare you.. Those screams of pain, they chill my bones every time. Especialy knowing, it's your fault for their further pain.

Half Life2, despite bieng a kick ass game, has it's moments too.

Clock Tower was all about horror though, and Etenarl Dakrness is damn creepy. Like a video game verison of a table top Call of Cthulhu.

I agree with the Max Payne thing.

Metal Gear Solid 2.......

Inside Arsenal When Raiden gets those freaky codec transmissions from the colonel. Then he finds out that the colonel is a AI/Patriot and a particularly evil one at that.

Probably in FF7 when you hear that Hojo was planning to cross-breed Red XIII and Aeris.

Oh and that thing with Otacon and his mother in MGS 2 really wasn't necessary.

The haunted house level. I hate little girl ghosts!

F.E.A.R.
The "zing" sound effect everytime you see "something" and that little girl who crawls around like a spider or comes at you from the corner of your eye.

Little girls are truly evil....and scary.

Probably in FF7 when you hear that Hojo was planning to cross-breed Red XIII and Aeris.

I wonder if he was expecting that to actually work, or if he was just going to sell it online?

WHAT!?

That IS creepy, and just plain wrong. I can't really remember that bit, but it's been ages since I've played it. Gah! Shinra has to be the most evil entity in fiction.

Litle things like that made FF7 the best game ever in my opinion.

It passed me by the first time I played it. Heard about it, thought it couldn't be true but was confirmed on my second play.

Shadow Hearts 2

Through a quirk in Time Travel you find out that Karen is Yuri’s mother at the end of the game. For those that haven’t played the game Karen is a total hotie that was crushing on Yuri the whole game.
