Dr. Dre. Is there any reason to believe he isn't the greatest producer in hip hop history? Dare I say, possibly, one of the greatest producers in MUSIC history? It seems like people are always "forgetting about Dre."

Examples???

There are lots of claims out there about him having ghost-producers. I don't know enough about him and his process to know if they're true or not.

Blackout is easily one of the most underrated producers ever. What he does with the equipment he has is incredible.

The same can be said of K-Rino, who is almost as talented behind the boards as he is the mic.

Uh huh.

I will dare to add Aesop Rock to the list. Though not in the same league as RJD2 and Jay Dee and Madlib, he's certainly an overlooked producer.

Most rapper/producers are better known/appreciated for one or the other, not both simultaneously.

Oh, don't forget about Ant.

They're all very good, but I don't think they're at all underrated. They get tons and tons of acclaim.

Whoever produces the Diplomats. I really have no clue, I don't think they ever get shout outs.

Dr. Dre. Is there any reason to believe he isn't the greatest producer in hip hop history?

Yes, there are plenty better than him.

yella made some tracks and dre made some tracks. The D.O.C. was actually in NWA at the very beginning too, when Cube wrote "boyz in the hood" for eazy. . . .

they use a bunch of different dudes, including the heatmakers (oh yes), storch, justblaze, and even pete rock did a track off jim jones's harlem joint (g's up).

They both were. My uninformed guess is that Dre handled mostly production/beatmaking and Yella handled the turntable aspect more.

i feel like i saw a solo album for yella advertised sometime in the 90s, but i cant be positive. really, in my opinion, most of the stuff post-nwa wasnt very good.

the only stuff i really dig on are ice cubes first 3 (and even then amerikkkas was done while he was in nwa) and of course eazy-duz-it, which was also done while he was in nwa. outside of that though i love mc ren's first solo ep and i kind of like eazy's 5150 and the "i hate dre" ep.

the stuff ren put out after kizz my black azz was horrid.
