it's on the short list of stuff I have, and need to watch. I hear it's the bee's knees.

I caught episode 1, very nice. Confusing, but very well animated. Hopefully it'll make sense very soon.

Yes, I discovered that on google, thanks.

She looks nothing like the anime character though, unless you're pointing to the makeup as reason to compare the two. I don't think the facial do is unique to Amy though.

Oooh... posting links may be a no-no.

It's a very interesting series so far... a little confusing, but I like the concept of a dystopian society in which everyone has an android that helps them, but also watches them. And the ultimate consumer culture...

Well, now I really have to check that out. I dig the character designs, but I hate watching movies on my computer that often (mainly because I sit in front of it all day),and I get lazy about encoding dvds. I'll be checking it out on DVD for sure!

Thanks for the info everyone!

Posting Links is INDEED a no-no. Again, it's licensed, by Pioneer, and well on the way. It was CORPRODUCED by Pioneer, meaning it's been licensed since it was in concept stages, meaning ethically it shouldn't of even been fansubbed in the first place. It may do you well to remove these as well.

Ok, so who's keeping up with this one? Episode 13 is the latest subbed, I believe.

It's either episode 12 or 13, but they're finally doing some good work, dramatically.

I've been pretty disappointed with the show so far, but it has so much potential I keep watching and hoping it gets better.

I just saw episode 1 just now and I don't have the any clue on what's going on. I like the art direction and animation. I think it's great but the story was confusing. And the Lead character Lar looked like Amy Lee. Questioning if I should continue watching it.

Episode 23. Ok, was that the end? That was a strange one. Not at all expected.

Ok, I don't want any spoilers. I only caught one ep *cough*fansubbed*cough*.

I just want to know if they ever reveal why the main character looks like Amy Lee from Evanescence.

Nope, they never do, but yeah... she kinda does.

Yeah, that ending took me by surprise too. I'd have to watch it all over again to get all the clues, but I started getting confused about the time that they had Proxies fighting inside their minds, and it never really got better.

This series bares some spoiler filled discussion soon 'cuz it made very little sense to me. I think I understand some of it.

Pity the show didn't make half the sense that the trailer did.

I watched the whole show and I understood most of it, and I just figured out what he is talking about at the end:

Vincent remembers everything and his personalities become one.

The little things I understand, but the bigger sweeping themes I don't quite get yet.

I'll try to explain how I see it:

If you recall the game show episode, it shows a vessel out in space called the Boomrang Star. They created it to escape the apocalypse, they also created the Proxy for the sole purpose of care-taking the Earth so to speak. They were able to survive the wastelands and help the people who were abandoned because there was not enough room on the Boomrang Star. Over time the Proxy were pretty much forgotten and humanity continued in these utopias that Proxies were meant to create.

I have no idea who the Creator is, but I assume he/she/they also boarded the Boomrang. I think the common theme in the show is irony, because the Proxy were able to obtain a soul, in which Proxy were considered evil ,which the Creator didn't intend. While autoreivs created by humans also received souls and were also considered evil. The Proxy Annihilation Program that Proxy One mentioned was the fact that Proxies couldn't live in the sunlight, and that they would not be present when the Earth regenerated itself.

That's how I interpreted it, though it's a bit messy. It's very hard to articulate my thoughts.

You've completely confused me there Ghengis. I didn't get that take from the story at all. I see how you could have come to some of the conclusions that you did, but your overall interpretation is decidedly different from mine.

Let me collect my thoughts again and I'll serve up my understanding.

I think I'd have to watch the whole thing again from the beginning before I could make any intelligent contribution.

I´m watching it again and trying to make some sense.
The show is great but the pacing slows down halfway through.
Episode 15 throws most of the clues with that gameshow but you still have to unlock a great part of it.

Way I see it, earth was rendered a wasteland and mankind escaped to the stars, leaving the proxies behind to take care of it.

Each proxy founded a craddle city , Romdeau, Mosque, ets, where they´re pretty much like gods, even creating their own human race (Re-L is actually a human gestated from an artificial womb like most humans in Romdeau, though I suspect her "grandfather" was one of the last true humans left behind who you see wondering outside Romdeau like scavengers).

Ergo Proxy, confronted with the pain of being left behind by his creator (mankind?) chose to forget who he was and adopt the Vincent Law persona.

At some stage and for reasons that escape me, Romdeau invaded Mosque and captured its proxy (the ugly one you see at the beginning of episode #1, being kept sedated by Daedalus) who Ergo eventually kills off-pannel.
Daedalus manages to bring Mosque´s proxy back to life by the end of the series and it turns out to be Re-L (or more likely, Re-L was created in her image) since Ergo designed Re-L to be the one that would destroy him.
Instead, she grew fascinated with him and became his ally.
At the end, mankind returns since earth becomes habitable again but Ergo is now its emissary of death.
Way I see it, he´ll be sort of like a vampire, unable to live under the blue sky but stalking the night hunting down humans.

This series has some very memorable moments and one of my most delicious anime scennes ever, when Re-L decides to pass time while they wait for the wind to return to the "Rabbit" by observing the behavious of the infected autorave, Pino.
The whole scenne with her trying to scientificaly ascertain whether the cogito virus made her/it left-handed was really fun. :p
